  3. gearing doesnt create torque, it just amplifies it. Torque deffinately plays a huge roll in how a car performs, but do i think its the end all, no. Like alot of guys have said, usually the higher up you can carry the tq curve the better off you will be. Take my car for example. I had always heard tq gets you moving, hp keeps you moving and the more power you have, the higher you will trap. Problem with that is, my car made about 226 whp at 5900 rpm and 237 tq at about 4600 rpm. My car is a beast off the line (1.82 60' at trails), but it wont trap for shit.
  4. ^ that is so true. Its better left untold. A while back i went to look at GT. Guy told me it had been babied and oil changes every 3k miles. Told the guy i was interested, just needed to see about money. As i leave, guy blows past me as he is ripping through gears.

  6. good to hear you got out of that safely. I had some bitch riding my ass to the point i could barely see her headlights last night. I kept just tapping my brakes to try to get the point across. After several attempts at that i finally just locked em up and the bitch swerved to avoid hitting me and about went head on with a car going the other direction (keep in mind theres a turn lane inbetween). After getting stopped she flew up next to me in the turn lane and flipped me off. I just pointed and laughed at her.

  10. First car was a 91 grand prix se. bought it off my mom for $300, drove it for a while till it started eating oil.   12. im in the same boat as you with my sister. She can be an outright bitch. At one point i was waiting on a deal to go through for an LS1 car, but had told my sister that if i got the car, she could use my V6 car for drag racing (long story). The very next week, me and my girlfriend rode out to the nmra event at trails in her car cause she was racing my dads stang but needed her car to get home in later. Needless to say she ended up deciding she was taking the stang home with her and refused to pay my parents back the 40 bucks they had to pay to get her car in the gate. It resulted in a big fight between my parents, sister and her bf. My parents kept trying to play nice but either the bf would open his mouth or my sister would blame all of her problems on my mom.

  15. from what i understand, the car just randomly stalls from time to time. I was told the car does not act up other wise. im going to try and clean the throttle plate first, but any other ideas to try? The car is a 93 grand prix with the 3.1 V6
  16. from videos ive seen (i think they were posted on here), stock for stock the challenger would win (ran mid 12's i wanna say)
  17. he does some what have a point. i dont know about immke, but when i worked at dave gill, i was a lube tech (meaning i pretty much did all of that stuff you mentioned minus the trans and i only made 8.xx an hour. Not sure if all dealerships have those kind of people though. For your question on how much techs make, it depends on how qualified they are. My dad has all of his ASE certifications and made pretty close to 29 an hour at a buick dealership.
  18. yea that shit is a rip off, considering you can get deals on oil and filters for like 35 bucks for synthetic, a new engine air filter isnt much and a 5 min job to do. Hell all of that stuff you could get for cheap and do your self. the sad part is that the tranny flush cost so much considering how little is actually required to do it.

  23. i followed the directions. sanded and cleaned the area, applied and let set for about 9 hours. so unless i missed a step or you having something else i could try to get it to stick better?
