crank. im not building anything wild as the internals im going with are just cast and are only good up to about 500 crank anyway. That would be tempting, but im just goin carbed cause im tired of messing with computers.

i know i prolly should, but i want this to be something that will be quick at the track, but also easily street driveable on 93 octane, so im kind of weary on going to high with the compression.

thanks man. its gonna be auto still. the plan for now is, im just gonna have my 4L60 rebuilt with 4L65 parts and possibly a full manual valve body, but not sure on that yet lol. i cant wait either, i weighed my car at trails and with a basically full interior, it came in at 3055 pounds. So 3055 pound car 450 hp should = fun lol.

rx-8=fail. Ive never seen anyone actually attempt to run one hard before last night. A kid at trails had one last night and acted like he was so proud of this car. He had 'no piston' stickers all over this thing and a few exterior mods. I would have loved to ask the kid what he thought about his no piston car after he basically got beat by an 18 second civic in time trials....

i cant say anything bad about ford stuff as ive never heard anything bad about them, but ive beat the living shit out of my cheby V6 for 3 years now and never had a problem...

they do pretty good work, but as scott said, its just not the same as a dyno tune. They did the first tune on my firebird and it ran pretty well.

oh god, a modded rx-8. So the guy has maybe 250 hp and now gets 12 mpg on the highway lol

eh, you would be suprised at some of the prices i was finding on even just blocks

for several reasons. some of which are the fact that he pulled the motor out of the truck, hes worked as a GM tech for almost 25 years, and its his garage this would be in lol.

I think so! so basically i had a SBC 350 lined up for a 100 bucks. Well that fell through because my dad, for some reason had a change of mind (after giving me the idea to get the 350 in the first place none the less) and didnt want me to get it due to the fact that it would take up space in the garage. I was working on talking him into it, but another friend ended up picking it up. So today we were over at a friends house drinking and playin some cornhole, when i look over to see a some what stripped down motor just sitting in the drive way. I went over to check it out and remembered it had came out of the friends mid 90's chevy 1500 pick up and was a 350. My dad had helped him pull it so i asked what was actually wrong with it. they said it just wasnt running on a few cylinders when they pulled it. so i was bored and pulled the heads off, just to find a blown head gasket as the culprit. I asked if he was interested in getting rid of it and he said yea. Well i managed to get my dad to go along with it and asked how much he wanted for it. He turns and looks at me and says " you get me a 12 pack of busch light bottles and its yours" lmao. Needles to say i bought him 2 cases but ended up walking away with a prefectly good 350 for 15 bucks lol.
