  1. The next engine was known to already exist back in 2007 but the page on Mazda's site for it is long gone. It was known in development as the 16x engine, but most of the community called it the 16c (to come after the 13b). The only solid information on the engine was that (at the time of development) it had up to 300 hp, a lengthened stroke, reduced width rotor housing, direct injection, and aluminum side housings. The two rotor engine was set to be a 1600cc engine giving each rotor 800cc which would have been been larger then the RX-8 and RX-7 engines.

    What does this all mean?

The new engine for this car (SKYACTIVE-R Engine) will most likely be the 16x or 16c with Skyactive-R. If I had to guess, this thing will make 300HP and a bit more torque then any other RX before it. Everything is speculation at this point, but if Mazda is smart they will turbo this thing form the factory to give it 350hp. I honestly think that Mazda is making great progress with the engine and I am excited to see what comes out of this concept.

300 hp is cool and all, especially out of an engine that small, but, my problem is how well is it going to compete with the class its in? If its aimed for something like the brz , it will be a beast hands down if they keep it close to the same weight as the brz. The problem is, i see it being aimed more at like the mustang/370z/camaro etc.... in which case, again, unless they can keep weight down a bit, it will be getting its ass stomped

  2. What's a short time? What improvements were needed that you are referring to?

The 26B, 3 rotor, motor would be an amazing option to see in this car, even if it were NA. If they did an NA and a turbo option, the Mazda fans would be very happy. People hung up on Apex seals as a weak point, are completely out of touch with that being a non issue for over a decade. The rotary motor most likely will always have a low mpg, because the build design uses excessive fuel use to assist in cooling. And, with modification for more output from the motor, comes more fuel demand and use = low MPG. 90% of the issues with rotary cars can be traced back to the owners for lack of maintenance, and not knowing what to do for care.

If your looking at it from that way, then sure, it probably will make for a great track car. Im meaning more in the sense of an every day use/occasional track use type thing. Every review i read about the rx8 was that it needed to be kept in high rpm to really do anything due to the lack of torque. Also looked at the window sticker of one of the last year ones and it was rated at like 13 city 17 highway mpg. To me, thats not really competitive with much of anything in the market, although i do realize different people have different tastes.

Now a turbo car would be ok.

  3. i talked to one of his nut-swingers the other day. he didn't know (or wouldn't say) specifics on what wiggles is doing right now.

From what i was told by an inside source, he was on steroids or something of the like which i guess caused him to grow some serious man titties. His wife threatend to leave him unless he got rid of them. Not to mention the amount of people he fucked that was also coming back on him hard.

  4. He got the whole dropout (engine, trans, ecm, wiring harness that is half cut lol) so the gtp trans I believe is going in since they are stronger units. Good info on the axles though, we weren't sure if they were the same or not.

Do yourselves a huge favor and put a trans cooler in to. The trans might stronger, but it still wont live very long lol

  5. The loan I got to pay off matco is using the crv as collateral, it has a rebuilt salvage title. But that's also a $1900 loan. Not 7grand. Not sure if the amount difference changes things. We went through True Core, a credit union out here, paying 9.9% interest.

    Wow.

Yea the chance that you even get a loan on a salvage title car is slim anyway. Even if you do, your gonna raped even harder than that on interest

  6. Like I mentioned before, I don't want to race anything. I just want something that is fun to drive.

Didnt say you did. But your talking about neon srt4's. Thats like every 16 year old kids dream car, and you can bet they have already been rode hard. Youll just be buying some one else's junk, and left with the bill when shit starts breaking

  7. Are there any unmolested 1g or 2g Talon/Eclipses left out there? They are cheap and fun, but not necessarily reliable. Or a 3.8 supercharged or 5.3l impala/grand prix

I was going to mention the bottom 2, but there again, both are just transmission problems waiting to happen
