  1. There isn't a lot of run off. Nelson isn't all that forgiving. However if the ground is wet you will pretty much sink. Our last event we have 2 drivers go off track and sank in the mud before the tire wall. Every event we have at least one or two drivers go off track and usually cause damage to their vehicles. Most of the time its not beginners. Its those in intermediate or advance that are really pushing the limits. Also i can't stress enough flush your brake fluid with high temp fluid. I have used Motol 600 now at about 5 events and never had a problem with boiling the brake fluid (pedal gets spongey). http://www.amazon.com/Motul-RBF-Racing-Brake-Fluid/dp/B000AURZ08 You just have to be cautious. Your brakes even with high temp fluid are going to fade (if you don't have upgraded pads and maybe even brake ducts) however its manageable if your not going flat out for 20 minutes straight. Take a few laps at 3/4 pace as a cool off. Remember its not a "racing" day, its a "lapping" track day. Laps are not timed and the only winners at the end of the day are those that had a great time and no damage to vehicle.
  2. Passing is done only with point by in approved passing zones (front straight and back straight). There is no limit other than it has to be with a point by in the approved zones, and completed before the braking zone (marked by a cone). We provide an instructor for the beginner group. He will not ride in the car with you but will lead all of the classroom sessions, and lead the beginner group on track your first time out. Its a "Lead/follow" session at slow/medium speed progressing through out the session. Your not required to work corners etc the track provides those staff members to me as part of the track rental fee. You will get approximately 6, 20 minute sessions on track. Thats 2 hours, plus we call open track from 4-5pm for an additional hour if you want more Most people (including myself) are pretty worn out after 2 hours of performance driving If your completely new to these events this document is a great read. While I didn't author it I strongly suggest reading it. Our events pretty much mirror theirs and there is a lot of useful info. http://events.torquedracingsolutions.com/events/track-day-tips-advice-and-track-info/ Thanks, Shawn
  3. One thing to keep in mind with Nelson Ledges, we have had a great turn out for about 3 years now. Thats why i am able to keep the price low year after year. As long as drivers keep coming out, the price will stay low
  4. Thanks man! Hope you and the CR crew can make it out. We had a lot of the CR guys out back in October.

  6. 86 degrees and 0% chance of rain! You can still register if you haven't already! http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/event.advert/uidEvent/00B1CC0A-FE4A-C300-C7DB55EDEC62C5C5

  8. Friendly reminder today is the last day to register for $250, after today(11:59 EST) registration fee is $280. See you there! Shawn
  9. I have taken mine to Brian multiple times. He is always willing to go the extra mile, or two, in some cases to satisfy customers(myself). I have found you don't come by business'es and people like Brian very often. While this story doesn't surprise me, as i have seen it first hand myself, it furthers my appreciation for companies and owners like Brian! PS.. The "drag race" tune has been working great at my "road racing" events Shawn
  10. Filling up fast! I hope some of the CR can make it. I'm leaving Friday at some point, if anyone is going let me know. Hotel Discounts: http://events.torquedracingsolutions.com/events/guest-hotel-information/ Super 8 is confirmed, working on the Holiday Inn Express, I have to keep nagging them for the discount and they don't call me back. I stayed there last year. Its a good hotel, although the Super 8 gets better reviews on trip adviser. I'm staying at the Super 8 this year and we get a discount if you mention "Torqued Racing" however rooms are limited so if your coming and want to stay in Cloverdale get it booked ASAP. I strongly suggest staying in cloverdale. Its only about 10 min from the track. Lastly, I had a GREAT time at the CR Track Day at NTR! CR puts on great events and it was great meeting everyone!!! I have video and pics but haven't had the chance to process yet. Shawn

  15. No bikes. Putnam does have Bike only days, but we can't have cars and bikes out there at the same time. Our September 22nd event is on a Saturday and there is a bike only day on Sunday.
  16. NT01's Arrived yesterday. I'm ready http://media.torquedracingsolutions.com/2000FordMustangGT/2000-Mustang-GT/i-JH3Zfvv/0/M/IMAG0366-M.jpg
  17. I got some further clarification from Dan on his coaching services at the event. See below: To add further detail, I can offer riding with the driver and also driving, to show lines and speeds better and also check the setup of the driver's car. I'm also considering adding to the classroom session with a track walk. Taking cars on track for each driver interested, getting out at each important turn, and giving a brief talk of the DOs and DONTs before the track session opens. Further to that, I may procure a digital camera and, using a tripod, film the morning session of Turn1 and offer a personal one-on-one guide for each driver to help them better drive that turn after watching them go through it. And do the same for another turn, probably turn 8 or 10, for the afternoon. I hope you guys can make it! Shawn
  18. Registered. Its been a while since I have been to the drag strip. Looking forward to it!

  21. Awesome Post! My experience with Brian and DTM over the years has been exactly as he stated. Here's a few examples: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84578 http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=92819 http://www.torquedfords.com/nmra-2010-new-best-12-347-117-3-mph/ Price has always been exactly what we agreed upon. 23. We provide 3 classroom instruction sessions in addition to the lead/follow session which is the beginners group first session. In many cases the first time on a road course. In addition we always have a group of guys that are available throughout the day for ride alongs. I strongly suggest coming out to our Putnam Events if its your first time. With Dan coaching its not something you will want to miss! Thanks, Shawn

He has helmet radios so that he will be able to provide real time coaching. The 1 on 1 sessions are $50 per session in which you can select when registering.
