I only watched the first half of the Rose Bowl and it was enough to know the wrong player won the Heisman. That kid is ridiculous. He's wearing the right number. Don't think I've seen someone like that since Reggie Bush. Almost every touch he had in the first half it seemed he was right on the verge of taking it to the house if he didn't end up actually taking it there.

It's pretty simple - Iowa and MSU were not the B1G's best teams. Michigan and OSU were.

Some lady at the DQ drive thru last week was apparently so offended by the pre-recorded "Happy Holidays" greeting that the drive thru speaker plays that she cut it off to yell "MERRY CHRISTMAS!" It was so awkward and weird. I could even hear another person or two get picked up by her mic saying stop in a way that led me to believe she had been doing it her entire shift. To get so offended by a non-specific seasonal greeting that you go fishing for confrontation as the OP seems to be or that you cut off a pre-recorded message at a drive thru is hilarious to me.

I barely got my picks in and am way too lazy to move all the teams around for the confidence points. I remember the last one I did with confidence points it was much easier to assign the points. 4* GA DT Antwuan Jackson announcing today around 2PM. Hopefully it's OSU. His last visit was to Auburn but OSU had the last in-home Sunday night. Sounds like both staffs are cautiously optimistic but neither seems to know. OSU needs him at DT since they weren't able to get much interest from the other big DT's they went after.

That 2012 class was a mess because Urban and his guys didn't have enough time to get to know the players. They chased stars and it looked great on paper but obviously a larger than normal chunk ended up more or less washing out. Also, on a non-OSU note, could be a bad day for A&M. They already lost the guy who was their starter for most of this season when true sophomore Kyle Allen decided to transfer out a week or so ago. Now they could be losing the guy who replaced him for a few games this season in true freshman Kyler Murray. Either to a transfer or MLB. Both were 5* recruits out of HS. Both now victims of Kevin Sumlin and his OC playing musical chairs with 5* QB's ever since the departure of Johnny Manziel. Told my A&M friend the second Kyler Murray got playing time this year (which was apparently promised to him/his family by Sumlin or their OC during his recruitment - amateur hour stuff there) that this was a bad, bad pattern that was starting to form in College Station. He kinda shrugged it off but now he's seeing the effects.

LeCounte was a dog fight even with Richt at UGA. Him gone, new coach with a "revitalized" program... over. And Wallace, for whatever reason, didn't want to play QB anymore. He asked the OSU coaches a week or so ago if he could play WR at OSU and they said they only had room for him as a QB. Enter Dwayne Haskins, as you mentioned. Haskins has set up perfectly. Obviously OSU was after him (and Guarantano) early but they lost some interest after all of OSU's QB's were still around AND Torrance Gibson stuck with OSU. Now you've got Braxton graduating, Cardale leaving, Torrance maybe sticking at WR and Collier reportedly being passed by Burrows already which could spell transfer. Then you've got Florida, the school Haskins was looking most likely to flip to, flipping Franks from LSU and trying to get Eason from UGA as well (that looks less likely now) for some reason. And Maryland made their new hire but the class never went the way Haskins wanted it to and Mike Locksley not looking likely to be retained for whatever reason is another blow to Maryland's chances of keeping him.

OSU under Urban has been so far away from being similar to Florida under Urban in terms of off field issues it's not even worth discussing.

Some easy inaccuracies to point out here... Bama has 2 national titles in the last 5 years. 2011 where they got a rematch they didn't deserve against a team that had already beaten Bama at Bama and 2012 where they only got in due to Ohio State's bowl ban. And I have no idea what 2 years you're saying Bama "came close" but if you're going to talk about "coming close" it doesn't get any "closer" than Ohio State playing in two more national title games between 2002 and 2014 that you're failing to mention.

Think we'll definitely see this formation more against Notre Dame so wouldn't be surprised to see that. Also, in case anyone was wondering, Ed Warinner will be up in the booth again for the bowl game and for as long as he's at OSU. Not sure what is going to happen with Tim Beck. I could definitely see Urban giving him another year. I don't think the MSU game was any more his fault than it was Warinner's or Urban's. But I know Beck is an easy target as he's the new guy and his record at Nebraska wasn't exactly stellar. That said, I have read stuff about Beck being gone, Warinner becoming sole OC and moving to coach QB's as well (he did it at Kansas) then bringing in a new OL coach such as ND's Harry Hiestand. ND is just a farm system for OSU coaches at this point. Urban was an assistant there, he stole Warinner and Hinton from ND when he came to OSU, he took Alford last year after Drayton went NFL. The Fiesta Bowl could be a nice little audition for any ND coaches looking to move up to the big leagues...haha.

Exactly. I remember when LSU beat OSU in the 2007 title game and the crowd starts chanting SEC. I was just like... lolwut. That said, I do want B1G teams to do well because as you said in your other post, perception is a big deal. Clemson beat 3 teams inside the CFP's final top 10 and morons on TV on Saturday were still talking about the committee potentially putting Bama ahead of them. Bama... with 0 wins over top 15 teams. And a loss. Over Clemson with 3 wins over top 10 teams. And no loss. It takes a while to beat perception though. Everyone helped chip away at it a bit last season but it needs to continue this season or more stupid discussions like the one above involving putting a 1-loss SEC team with 0 top 15 wins above an undefeated ACC team with 3 top 10 wins will keep happening.

Not a single person on here said all of the top 4 teams were going to lose and I'd ask you to link us to a post where someone did. Until that time, I will go back to ignoring you because your posts do not warrant a response.

Right now, my first thought is that it's going to be like last year. The winner of the #1 vs. #4 game is going to win it all. MSU and Alabama have been pretty lackluster all season long. Cook needs to get healthy for MSU to have a chance. Luckily for Bama, Henry has a few weeks to rest after Saban tried to kill him with nearly 100 carries the last 2 weeks. Bama's best wins were 2 score wins against teams that were even more one-dimensional (or no-dimensional like Florida) than they are. MSU has a few close wins against top 15 teams in Iowa, OSU and Oregon but Iowa lost their RB early, OSU's game plan was atrocious and Oregon's QB had a broken thumb on his throwing hand.
