  1. Welcome, Igor. Great car, and not a bad intro. I hope to see ya out at our track days and meets soon. + rep BTW, Igor isn't the most popular name around these parts. You may have to explain that you're not "that Igor" a time or two.

  3. An oven intro thread that's NWS. I can see you'll fit right in here.
  4. 4-5000 miles a month on the GSXR, eh? Wow, you musta ridden it everywhere http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/adventure-1.jpg + rep with pics Welcome!
  5. Welcome to CR. Good for you that you're not afraid of taking a car like that to the track and spending time modding it. I'm impressed that you've done the work yourself. That's not your father's Oldsmobile, is it? http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/88old002.jpg + rep (Are you really from Weserville?)
  6. Welcome Shawn. It's a good idea to read the stickies before posting your intro. If you put the requested info and a few photos up (even of the past/wrecked vehicles), you should be good to go. Lots of T/A and bike fans here. How to make an intro: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums...ad.php?t=61288 How to post pics: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums...ead.php?t=1743 :nopics: BTW, you're the only one I've ever heard of who's hit a deer coming down from a wheelie. Impressive. Enjoy!
  7. Brian, many thanks! It's the best video I have of me taking anything down the track. I owe you one.

Looks as though we might have a few hours of dry this evening. I'll be out and around, no doubt. Anyone meeting earlier for eats? Wholly Joes worked well. Five Guys sounds good, too. I'm not deciding, though -- I've got some work to do in the garage for a few hours and won't be checking the thread again until I'm ready to go out.
  9. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/modified.jpg I was a bit disappointed in the Bentley. Best time was a 12.808 @ 107.97, 60 ft time was 1.931. I think on a cooler day the car has low 12's in her. I know I'm expecting a lot from the 3 ton beast. :zoom: I agree with the above members ...... the best part is hanging out with the crowd and watching some really amazing racers (clone, atomicfusion, and koolray come to mind).
  10. I'm planning on being on the patio a little after 7. so feel free to join me. Looks as though we might get wet later (rain coming up I-71 from Wilmington right now), but the car needs a good washing from being at the track today. If that front moves right through, there might be some dry roads later for the usual Sawmill crowd.
  11. All I see on the radar right now are two small thunderstorms, one in Dayton, one in Lima. They're moving northeast and I think have little chance of hitting us with rain. We'll just have to head to the track and roll the dice. I think the odds are with us this time. :burn:
  12. Sounds as though you weren't doing it right.
  13. This is the tradition, noob. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1361340&postcount=108 (At least that's my best guess)
  14. Welcome to CR. We're all praying for dry weather at National Trail tomorrow for our track day, which was rained out in April. Be sure to follow the directions, or else prepare for a rough ride: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61288 If you have problems posting pics, make sure you read this: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1743 :nopics: Good luck!
  15. Here's a place with it in stock, if you're looking for new: http://shop.vendio.com/bggear/item/2069110319/?s=1304322962
  16. It seems that the usual car enthusiast watch is just an average watch with a watch face containing a car logo. For example, many Ferrari watches and Porsche watches follow this pattern. Ho hum. Earlier in this thread I posted pics of two watch makers who each went a different path: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1311685&postcount=125 Now I see advertised a true watchmaker's tour de force, a tourbillon watch. I've always admired the ingenuity of watches with complicated mechanisms, but of course, I can't afford a quality one. A tourbillon is an addition to a clock's escapement originally developed to negate the effects of gravity and in theory to improve accurancy. If you want to know more about that, here's your link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tourbillon#Modern_tourbillon_watches The Chopard Engine One Tourbillon is the first car design watch I've seen that combines a tourbillon with car design elements, not just a brand logo. At least it's the first such watch I've liked. The power reserve indicator looks like the fuel gauge of a German car. I also love the valve covers. Way out of my price range, but thought you might enjoy the eye candy: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/watch1.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/watch2.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/watch3.jpg
  17. Chicago style deep-dish pizza ...... yummies.
  18. I have a friend trying to sell his 1 owner 2008 Kaw Z1000, 6k miles. He's trying to get at least $6,000 out of it. I told him to try to sell it privately, but you think that's in the ballpark, I'll have him bring it to the store for you to look at.
  19. Could a mod lock this thread or change the title so as to not confuse the more reading-impaired members? OKthankx
  20. I think we might get a break in the rain for a few hours. I'd be up for eats and then for some shenan ..... um, I mean for a meet.
  21. Welcome to CR. Good intro. Lots of autocross and track day folks on here. Hope you can make it out to some CR events this spring and summer. +rep

    Dear Cr

That must have been quite a blow, knowing that you weren't even in the top thirty people to come to mind when Phil was thinking about CR.
  23. Yep, that was nutty. And their "check for cancellation" thread was never updated. I checked their recorded phone message to get the word around 11 a.m., although it was obvious that they weren't going to have the track open today.
