If you are I don't understand how you couldn't like this, listen to the lyrics he tells the story of how Dre took him in despite what everyone else was saying and where are all of Dre's friends now?

I use my Kroger card for my work purchases and usually end up with about 2 -$1 off a gallon per month. I then fill up both cars at the same time. My last fill up was $55 for 30 gallons. (and I saved 30 dollars). I have not paid over $2 a gallon for a full fill up in over a year, as thats about to change with current gas prices.

Do you remember any other cars that went along, or your other friend from OSupras, what car did he have?

Oh I realize this, if you saw my $600+ racing setup, not including the 56" tv and sound set up (I am not bragging just trying to prove a point as to my dedication to having proper simulation equipment for a GAME lol ) you would see I am totally into the sim aspect. But as Frenchy said above you can easily drop a couple hundred in a few months, although the online play is way better than GTR, Race On, etc. I actually go to the Iracing site once every few months to see what new stuff they have and have basically read the website from front to back trying to talk myself into signing up lol. I mostly place PC based sims and don't consider GT5 as much of a racing sim as I do a driving educator, (license test.) It does simulate the feeling of many different cars though. Also in Race On and GTR Evo I have over 50+ real world tracks including Mid OH and Nelson Ledges, the old Cleveland Indy track on the lake, VIR and many many more. Along with hundreds of real world RACE cars. This is what I plan to have in the future... the wheel looks great but I want a real shifter and hydraulic clutch. http://www.frex.com/gp/

Oh man I have heard that is awesome, although I just can't justify the cost per month and the cost of constantly buying more cars and tracks. It needs to come down in price more. About the Porsche, I used to lead some backroad runs back in the SRDU days and your car does look familiar. I also might know the other guy your talking about his sn used to be Fishey?

First off its red (of course) and no I have not been to an Ohio Supra meet in it. Secondly I did want to restate that I agree 100% that it's cheating in real life and no I would never do it in a real car, (hell the worst I did was 2 wheels off in round 1, didn't cut any grass in round 2) but since this is a game and if I have a shot to get ahead by staying within the guidelines of the rules of the game I am going to do it to be a professional race car driver. Either way my chances of making top 8 or even top 16 are a long shot.
-
I disagree with this statement (really with the word "cheating") and heres why. IRL yes it definitely is cheating and you would be DQ'ed for it. (Also as a disclaimer I am not one to do this in games but if I felt I truly had a chance and had to do this to win I would, I would much rather see this be as real as possible and that the software would not let people cut the grass like that, etc, it seems that it would be so easy to program.) But since this is just a game, (which everyone seems to forget) people are just taking advantage of what the software allows them to do in this competition. To me cheating would be altering the software or times somehow to put yourself ahead. I know some will never see it this way but in a competition/game I will do what it takes, within the allowable rule set to win.

Round 3 of the GT academy starts on mon at 9am... If I make top 8 out of 128 people I go to Orlando. Wish me luck. This is also the reason for ・More Penalties for Special Events Penalties for improper driving such as driving off course and hitting walls have been increased for the [special Events] under [GT Mode] - [GT Life].

They only open in the winter months?

Also are your boots K2 Clickers?
-
Do you have boots or need them too, I need to see if I still have a set of these.

I was thinking of going to play some poker, I know its a long drive from Cbus, but if you wanna drive down here and meet I can drive the rest of the way. I usually just play the limit 3/6 table for 4-6 hours.
-
If you dont mind me asking how much for all this, I wanna build a machine for similar reasons, but have been out of the game for awhile. You can pm if you like.

I am feeling the same way, we just bought our house a year and a half ago and in the APT we had a heat pump. I would have never bought a house with one after that 5 year experience. It would barely make 65 deg if it was 15 deg or under. Gas FTW. We have a 2400 sq ft house built in the 60's. Electric is about $100 (with plenty of toys plugged in) and gas was $140 last month (our furnace is 15 years old). BUT we keep it at 68-72 all winter long. Just remember nothing can produce better ambient heat than fire lol.

LoL thanks. Just excited because it literally took all month up till today to get that spot. I know its just a game, but usually in gaming I am that guy in the middle thats not great, but not terrible, so this is pretty cool for me.

Just wanted to share for any of the GT5 ppl on here that I posted the 115th best time in the Midwest (needed 128th or better to go to round 2) and 560th time in the USA on GT Academy. Now wish me luck making it in the top 16 Midwest to go on to round 3 lol. BTW for anyone wondering this was out of about 50,000 people. And for anyone wanting more info about the competition, since you can become a pro race car driver out of this http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/academy/2011/

Like a Ferrari to a truck. You push one pedal down and the acceleration is mind boggling. It's soo light, smooth and easy to ride. My average speed on this over my early 90's Trek is 2-3 mph faster. Remember the tour riders avg 30mph on flat ground and 15-20 up mountains for miles.
-
Sorry to clarify, in 01 Lance could walk into any Trek store in the world and purchase this bike and it would be nearly identical to the bike he rode on the tour. The frame IS identical the minor difference would come in the form of custom fitting handle bars, seats, etc. Some times they used uber expensive super lightweight parts also. It's kinda of like how the Superbike motorcycles they ride are almost identical to the ones you can buy at Yamaha, etc, on a much smaller scale. As for the pedals I need to buy new ones, he kept them for his other bike, I could use my current ones on my (now old bike) but I want ones that are a little lighter. He always has 2 main bikes at once since he commutes year round with them, a sunny day nice bike, and a rain/snow/everything else bike. So now his 07 is that bike.
-
Just figured I would share a picture of the bike my dad gave me for Christmas. Its the 2001 Bike that Lance won the Tour with. 18 Lbs Frame weight 2.44 lbs. My Dad also has the 07 AMD Bike that weighs 16 lbs and just bought the 2011 bike and its 14 lbs 4 oz. Amazing that they have come down 4 lbs in ten years. (And his new bike cost more that I paid for my Porsche ackk!) http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs1335.snc4/162716_1243818273413_1768054639_456888_2955355_n.jpg

Yes I just quoted myself... but thats what the wheel in GT5's news is about. I would buy G27's and Fantec wheels over this all day at it's current price point.
-
For the double, if your ever in Dayton, hit me up and I would be more than happy to show you the G25 firsthand.
-
As much as I hate to say it because I love my G25, go with the DFGT. If you don't have a proper mounting method (ie Playseat) or your not "hardcore" about racing sims on the pc you might as well save the money. I am really interested to see the reviews on this T500 from Thrustmaster. I just can't believe the $599 price tag. If they want to get back into the market they need to go cheaper on this product, regardless if it's worth it or not.

Why is everyone so afraid of high miles on a well maintained car? If it's only a few years old you know it has not sat and rusted/rotted out. I understand turbos die and such but we are car guys, we know (mostly) how to take care of that stuff. I would rather pay much less sometimes for high miles and well taken care of than low miles and beat on.

Just watched it last night based on this thread and LOVED IT!.... It was shot so well.

But a D5000 can, and for the body alone that would be my choice for an entry level person. I want a D90 after about a year with mine now though, just for ease of use now that I somewhat know what the settings do.
