I didn't want to pay for a custom tune until I add 10% lower pully, throttle body and heater exchanger. with those, 10's won't be a problem

Here is a list that I copied from a gt500 forum. As you can tell My 11.03@129.52mph and a 1.59 60' is very respectable with these cars. I don't know who has slicks and who doesn't. I do know most have a few mods that I don't. Lower pulley, throttle body and elbow, heat exchanger with dual fans, and a customs dyno tune(not mail order like mine). or what type of gas they are running. I use 93 octane, then I threw in some lucas octane booster from Meijer's. My super charger is UNPORTED These cars have tons 0f potential with the Eaton, but just not a lot of folks really pushing the envelope with this blower. Just like with the Terminators, it's just so easy to throw on an aftermarket blower and get an "easy" 620+ RWHP, that many folks don't take the time and trouble to properly prepare an Eaton setup for track performance. I have an anti roll bar. no sway bar. Evolution Performance Bolt On Anti-Roll Bar $525.00 Evolution Performance, Inc.'s new S197 anti roll bar uses two top axle tube brackets that weld to the axle tubes allowing the rest of the kit to be bolted in place, making it acceptable for classes where welding to the chassis is not allowed. Yes I do have a 9" under it. I want to switch to help this think hook. my 60' are very inconsistent which in turn make my ET's all over the place. I bracket race and do pretty good, just trying to make my job easier! Plus I might see 10's in a 4000lbs HOG

I've raced on slicks before, just not in this car. I know what your are talking about wth the high speed stability from the lack of side wall strengh.

I will be switching from MT DR's to MT slicks, How much should I Pick up? The improvement would be in the 60' which in turn will help the ET. I know you can just about double the amount of time that you pick up in your 60' to your ET. If you pick up .1 in your 60' you should pick up .2 in your ET. My current best 60' is a 1.59 1/8 7.14@99.80 1/4 11.03@129.52 If you have made the switch, what were your results?

I copied this from another forum. here is what dude said Last weekend at NMRA in Bowling Green, my car made it's first 8 sec pass, 8.98 @ 155? (timeslip read 175, but doubt that). This was the car's 1st time out with the new setup which includes built bottom end with 10.0:1 compression, stock heads, Lunati Cams, Powerglide, and Whipple 4.0 with 3.5" upper pulley and 15% overdrive lower. It's making 30 psi boost, which is apparently more than the Cometic MLS gaskets could handle, as it blew a head gasket at the end of the run. What's even more impressive is that this was the car's 1st full 1/4 mile pass. We made two passes the day before in which the car went 9.30s with the car shutting down at 3/4 track due to a couple of different issues. I'm planning to o-ring the block and go back out and go deeper into the 8s. same pass different angle

I have 4, galaxie 44 , General Lee, Cobra 29, some cheap ass hand held. Antennas-Willson 2000, lil will, and a bunch of 5 1/2ft fransis. best bang for the buck is a cobra 29, they are low mantance. But they don't have a connex board in them (echo/reverb) which makes your cb sound bad ass if you tune it properly. If you want to be a Bauce, throw a kicker (amplifier) on it. With my galaxie 44 and a little 350watt amp I have talked 30mile on a mobile unit. now it won't talk 30 mile all the time. but it ain't a problem to talk 10mile on any given sunday. Just remember, CB's are kinda like cars. The more power you make, the more mantance you will have and the more likely it will blow up.
