  1. That S10 looks great. I typically hate 2 tone but love that combo. Nice setup.
  2. I guess I do recall some of that discussion. Obviously with nothing in our known world able to do anything like that its hard to understand and/or visualize. I dont really like the comparison about dropping the car off in the 1700's just due to the speed at which technology is currently advancing vs how it will advance exponentially in just the next 100 years. I feel like the 300 years of advancement previous to 1980 is a very small fraction of what advances would be made from out current technology to "time travel ability". Im probably not explaining my thoughts very clear but I just dont feel like its comparable.
  3. Make sure you read the fine print. Typically the branded items and sometimes floor jacks in general are excluded from those large discounts. But definitely search the site with the item number of the jack you want and many times that specific jack will have a coupon you can use.
  4. I enjoyed the interview as well. I think the corbell guy is a putz though. I had all plans of watching his netflix special until I read a few of the reviews about how bad it was. The one thing that made me turn my head sideways more than the rest of the story was about them piloting the craft. What are the chances that on something we know so very little about (the craft and the aliens) that they were able to figure out how to fly the thing? I just dont buy it. And he talks about how it was capable of doing these super high speed maneuvers in the sky that aren't possible with current aircraft. Im no expert but wouldn't these cause G forces that even a trained pilot wouldn't be able to handle? Say the thing is going back and forth in the sky like gravity doesn't exist? Or am I to believe the spaceship has all that figured out... Ive been intrigued by aliens since I was a kid so Im super curious to it all but too much of it is hocus pocus.
  5. Id buy another HF jack if mine wears out/breaks. Its been trusty for 6-8 years. Make sure you look for a coupon on here before buying. https://www.hfqpdb.com/browse
  6. I installed a TransGo HD2 kit in my 4L80E on the C10. Id never touched a trans before. It was slightly intimidating but I worked through it. I love it! Buttttt, I also have a stand alone controller for it so I can adjust things to better fit my needs. But right out of the box it was pretty good. It barks the 295mm tires 1st to 2nd when WOT but shifts only slightly firmer than stock when at light throttle. Oh and this is on an unknown mileage $300 junkyard trans. No regrets. I dont know how different the 60e vs the 80e is though internally.
  7. What a miserable situation. My grandparents lost their home due to fire and had to rebuild. It takes time but they have a nice place now and the insurance did them right. I hope the same for you.
  8. M2 looks great. Saw you here when the car came the one day talking with "Mr. Know It All" and didn't want to interrupt that. :-)
  9. Got my dad to go to Norwalk with me on Friday. He had never driven my C10 so I offered to have him drive up. He was the one that got me into cars and helped me on the first step of the build on it when I was a kid. We aren't overly close anymore but it was nice to be together and talk cars again for a few hours. We arrived right at noon and drove right into spectator parking instead of waiting in the "power tour" line and paying the $45 bucks. Im not one to "show" anyway so it worked out. Loads of cool cars. Lots of stock and/or modern stuff you had to wade through but it was worth it. I ran into Lucky Costa, Rutledge Wood and one of Mike Finnegans guys from his show. Felt sorta star struck because I watch those guys all the time. Just a couple random pics.
  10. I paid for their tux rentals. I think they appreciated that more than a gift.
  11. I haven't. I have a hard time concentrating while reading. But thanks for the tip. I don't know much of his backstory.
  12. Barn Find Hunter on the Hagerty channel is one of my favorites on YT. Which is odd because I can't stand Junkyard Gold on MTOD. I think its the host that make the difference, and the stories on BFH hunter that you dont get with JG. I find as the different channels grow I like their content less and less. I even feel that way with my favorites like Roadkill. I then search out smaller guys like vice grip garage to find more realistic content versus the 25min commercials as you say.
  13. I have a 2560x1440 24" view sonic I use at work. I tried out a larger unit with lower res but it was too big for me. So I stepped down to a 24" with higher resolution. Works better for me.
  14. Bought another BMW to replace the X3 that my wife totalled a few weeks ago. Found this X1 in Reno and had it shipped over. I was pretty specific about wanting a 35i with M sport not in black or silver and thats a hard find. This pretty much has every option so it matched up well to her X3 options. This came from an older gentleman so the wheels are rashed and it has a couple dents that need attended to but its a fun car. Im gonna have wheel medic refinish the wheels in black and Ill give it a paint correction and put a coating on it very soon. I might do an MHD stg one flash if I can hide it from her :-). She already agreed to doing some lowering springs at some point. After driving it home I've long forgot about the "SUV" and welcome this sporty "car" to the fleet. And yes, I have 4 blue vehicles now..
  15. I got new sofas a couple years ago I moved the old stuff to the garage. It was that was for a couple weeks until I sold them. By buddy came over several times and hung out on them. Now every time he comes over to hang in the garage he complains because I dont have a sofa for him to sit on....
  16. Looks good. Im just about to C notch the C10. I only have 2 fingers worth of gap and every abrupt bump is a bang and neck pain jolt.
  17. This. Everybody seems to be throwing videos out just to get clicks and then not have ANY real content. Hard to sift through and find good legit channels.

    Smartwatch

My wife got a Garmin Vivoactive 3 Music recently. While the screen isn't as nice as the Galaxy, it has more of the "fitness" stuff she wanted. She has no complaints with it so far after a couple months.
  19. 6 seconds? You can do better ;-) Im sure that's a blast. I just started following a guy on IG with an E30 LS1 that just swapped it out for a Tesla motor. Fun times we live in.
  20. I shipped a small envelope international that was never delivered and like Tom said I think it took nearly a year before it came back to me... crazy.

    Whisky

I cut back on my drinking significantly but I when I do drink I prefer wheated bourbons. My favorite is probably OYO or.. as its called now "Middlewest Wheated Bourbon. Its local so its always available. I enjoy Makers as well, obviously. And as Brad mentioned BH is good for the price and typically easy to find.
  22. Cool truck. My Sierra had a ~2" block in the rear I removed to level mine out.
  23. "Maybe" you have the money to have someone take care of that for you? ;-) I get you though, we have an old house with a couple acres and there's always something that needs attended to. We definitely all have different interests, priorities, etc. It just isnt something that would work for me, but it only takes a few dozen people that it works for to make it a success. 24. I wish Chip all the best in this but... If I had this type of money to spend on car storage, I would already own a house/property that had the storage I need or the room to add it. Along with what Clay mentioned it's not just the tools that becomes a pain, but just the fact you have to drive there to even just get the car out. For me I would find it an excuse to not drive/work/enjoy that car because its not at my house.
  25. These are the last 5 that we've done. Doesn't necessarily mean these are the averages. (I just dont keep track of all the details) 96k (2013) 85k (2012) 49K (2015) 39K (2014) 57K (2012)
