  1. I have debated this for a while, but I am going to weld some cutouts post-cat in the GT500 next year. I thought about electric cutouts but a friend of mine mentioned that the motors were prone to burning out because of the heat. Is that true? And what brand (both electric and manual) has the best rep? Thanks... Gabe
  2. Eventually headed out to California - this January. The Shelby is in Portola (up by Tahoe) and I'll be transferring with my company to Concord, and staying in Modesto. Eventually I'll have everything down in the valley, it looks like, and I absolutely can't WAIT to take a drive up the 101 in the Shelby So, going against the grain and moving back to Cali.
  3. Thanks all. I think it was 11 hours to Omaha and 16 from there to Battle Mountain, and another four or so to home. Honestly... it wasn't all too bad - the Shelby is pretty damn comfortable. If you need to get up and go, you can get up and go! It seemed pretty comfortable cruising at 80/85, although I did try to stay in and around the speed limit most of the the time. The seat is comfortable enough (unlike the Yaris). I'm really glad that I have the nav in there too, that was nice, even though there weren't many turns really. Overall I averaged about 21mpg, which is decent for the GT500. I really wish that 6th was deeper, like in a Camaro or Corvette; it's almost useless as an "overdrive", which really I already have with 5th. Not much to it!
  4. It was a decent ride. I have to say, all the way up to Salt Lake City was practically a BORE. Some spirited driving here and there, but no one out playing of course. It was nice that the weather pretty much stayed clear. I stopped to 1) Piss, and 2) fill up on gas. Everything else was nonessential, lol. Glad the wife wasn't with me or I'd still be driving...
  5. Well got the Shelby out to California - no problems. I left here right after cars and coffee (about 8:30), and made Omaha around 1900 Saturday. I left Omaha Sunday morning at 0530 and made Battle Mountain, NV, at 2100 or so. The weather was great all throughout Nebraska, Wyoming (although very windy - my hood popped up at one point! and caught the safety latch), and Utah. I was nervous about speeding too much after Nebraska, but I hopped in behind two dually Fords in Wyoming moving along at 95-100 (blasted through that state!). It rained from the Utah/Nevada line up until Battle Mountain, Nevada. A high school friend of mine (we went to bootcamp together too) is currently a Nevada Highway Patrolmen there. As far as fast cars, he only had the Challenger to compare to, so I took him for a ride Monday morning when the roads dried up. He gave the all clear after calling his buddy that was on shift and finding out where he was, and he took me out on a flat road - it must have been at least ten miles in a straight line. Anyhew... I took him up to 158 before the governor kicked in, and that was enough smiles for him! Left Monday morning and it rained pretty much to Reno, and then it was a dry shot from there. The Shelby was so trashed after that nasty Nevada dirt. So anyways, just wanted to pass a quick note about the trip. I had one visit with a Nebraska State Trooper who ticketed me for 87 in a 75, but that's just the risk I guess. I'll keep in touch - I'm sporting the daily driver until I'm outta here in January. 6. I have a passenger seat and... half a trunk open
  7. Contemplating smoking while you're smoking while posting.
  8. I'm not going to click on it, lol.
  9. The wifey's entering "mommy mode" and wants to be closer to family. I told her she could move any time but apparently she wants me to go with her.
  10. You showing up to C&C Saturday morning? Well hey, that just means you got shelter if you're ever in California! Lol.
  11. Somewhat the reason why I think it hasn't been implemented here... At some point it's going to form into a picture of a toilet full of hershey squirts when you walk into the local sushi bar...
  12. Fugg'n smurf. Who the 'ell are you anyways?
  13. Yesss I seen that - and they are trying to introduce the same type of "advertising" here in the U.S.
  14. I think it's because of Mr. Sheeba. Am I getting banned when I move to Cali?
  15. Lol where the hell do you people find this stuff!? LMAO!
  16. Right, right, she was in that! Unfortunately I don't have much choice in the matter of being around ballet because she's... well she's a ballet dancer. However... if I was a single guy you can find some perty gurls when class gets out! Last weekend we tried to search for a pirated version to burn, but no luck. So yes, I'm stuck with having to go to the dealership for the next version. Fugg'n commies.
  17. Snow last weekend, so I heard. My old address was 9810 "V" plaza. It was off 99th and Park South of Q street. At the time the agency I was working at was located on Mockingbird Drive. And I suppose Columbus winters aren't all that worse accumulation-wise, but what we DEFINITELY don't have here is the wind that blows the shit around all the time. And it gets no where near as cold. My wife used to ballet dance for Omaha Theatre Ballet, which I've since learned is veering towards closing its doors. I have near family in Aurora and I always used to travel out to Grand Island to work. That's the same situation I'm in. The GPS in the Shelby is AWESOME but they want an arm and a leg to get a new nav disc.
  18. Roger that! You have a good eye for those pictures. So how is Omaha treating you? I lived there in 2006 into 2007. Wasn't much of a fan of the winters there... But in all honestly Omaha is a nice place. We lived off of 98th street, or something. Can't remember.
  19. That fucking 'Vette is TITS dude.
  20. Sure! I like milk chocolate. Seriously though, ha-ha, I'll be in Omaha Saturday night and leaving Sunday morning EARLY. And where are your pics of said Mustang?
