  1. I've been in a union once, and never again. UFCW I believe it was. "Hey guys, we got you a raise of $.20 an hour! Too bad we're raising our dues by exactly $8/week. You'll get over it!" Yeah, maybe if the one I was in was an unstoppable juggernaut like the UAW, and they got me $20/hour and good benefits I'd like them too. Why don't they go and pwn toyota, honda, or bmw like they pwned the American companies. That will show them
  2. Huh, interesting. Seems like with that payload (over a ton?) it should have more power. Kinda like a better ridgeline, that doesn't get 15 mpg and rev to 4k all the time. Good work VW. Best of all, no coil packs to fail
  3. It's short on torque, that's what I was saying. They need a big V8, or a big force-fed V6. Maybe they could get away with a NA v6 if they revved the crap out of it like nissan does, but I don't think that's what muscle car people want.
  4. Good god. Will GM stock ever be at $10+/share again? I hope they go completely under, and kick the unions the hell out. Maybe then someone can salvage some of their operations, and be successful.
  5. That car needs a big boost in power to compete with the pony cars right now. Sure, v6 for v6 it might do alright, but not when it looks like a korean accord. I'd consider it an alternative if they came out with a v6t or v8 with 50 more lb-ft at least, and fixed the styling.
  6. Psh, did you see how R&T failed them in their drift issue? Pwned. Who the hell buys a camaro or mustang because "it handles well." Seriously. They buy them because the way the look, the power, and the price.
  7. Always after the older ladies... Time to find you a nice girl within 20 years of your age. Maybe with a Land Rover.
  8. With a hat like that she'd have to be! Looked like a pretty nice little guy, I'd keep him.
  9. It isn't, and I'll tell you why. The male lions are way too lazy to attempt something like that. Only the females would be stilt-hunting, that dude would be hanging out in the shade eating babies and licking his balls.
  10. 10-foot lift kit- standard in Africa. Nice photoshop.
  11. We don't have jack in the box, and I feel deprived, so... BK isn't too bad, you can get a cheap 'shake, which is loaded with calories. Also, they doing the $1 double cheeseburger again? Awesome.
  12. I don't really see Chris driving a 'merican rusty busted ass Jeep. Plus the Rover will make him feel like he's in Africa again chasing springboks and running over peasants. Definately worth 2k. Manual FTW.
  13. What are you going to do if it snows? Get snow tires? Recommend quattro. You could probably find an xi, I guess. If you want to go fast and fix stuff buy a b5 S4. If you want to go slow and not fix as much stuff buy a b6 A4. Both have very nice interiors, which I think is paramount in a DD. Otherwise you might as well buy a beat to shit subaru.
  14. Seriously? Dayum that's cheap as hell! Too bad I hate the DAO police trades.
  15. Maybe he was changing the tranny filter:D Yeah, the VW sludge is mainly because people use cheap crappy oil and that + super high-stress turbo + neglect = sludge. Too bad really. I've owned or serviced MANY VW's from the 'sludge' era and never ever seen it. People are dumb, and VW is dumb for not speccing a good synthetic oil. Now look at what they do on the tdis!
  16. I wish very car had a nice super tall overdrive for the highway.
  17. I always remembered the mustangs holding 5ish quarts, certainly not 8!!! Yeah, weren't the Boxsters like 12.5 or something? Crazy Porsche and their vastly superior dry sumps.
  18. I'm pretty sure Porsche does the same thing (although they hold like, 10+ quarts). They only want it to last through the warranty period anyway.
  19. Yeah, it's a fine price honestly (especially locally). But doing the math for the old superhawk tells me that if I spend $7/quart each oil change instead of $9.50/quart, 4ish quarts so $10 per change more. Over the 100k mile life of the engine (yes, a superhawk engine will last that long even on semi-synth) that's a nice savings of $300+ if I change my oil every 3k miles, or about 30 times. How's that for math? I could almost buy another superhawk motor for $300, almost.
  20. Or, for that matter, riding a motorcycle after dark with a learners permit. Nobody said it had to make sense!
  21. Does this also mean that we can arrest policemen and fire engines? They're always going wide open from a stop, like they got somewhere to be. Let's take their rides away too!
  22. Well there are plenty of good people and most strangers will come across that way provided you are courteous and polite. You have to look beneath the surface to see who they really are. I'm a fairly judgemental person, and I can think of a few people who "are perfectly nice and pleasant" that I know are actually convicted child rapists, wife beaters, etc. Even if they get caught, they do their time and they're right back out here walking among us. Doesn't mean they can't be nice.
  23. That's weak. I have changed the oil in many cars that literally had nothing in the oil pan, but they ran quiet and fine (as far as the driver could tell). Especially the Hondas and Toyotas, those things don't make a sound dry!
  24. Not to stray too far off topic, but I'm a little curious as to how you credit technology with the things you mentioned? Through greater education, awareness, or something else perhaps?
