So a family member is dead-set on buying a 2006 yukon denali. I've been reading up a bit on them, but online reports have been all over the place in terms of reliability and quality. I know someone with an escalade with all sorts of electrical failures, should I expect the same in a Denali? What breaks the most? Their favorite candidate is a 70k miler for about $20k. You'll probably be about 15 times better off if you get a super basic AR for $700-$800 and spend another $400 on ammo and training. That being said, you can build an AR for under $700 pretty easily, it's like a lego gun.

Yep, there it is. Look at it this way- how much gas and repairs could you get for $9000? It wouldn't pay for itself by the end of its service life, so it basically only has its little tiny size going for it. If it was a diesel and got 70mpg (which it SHOULD DAMNIT!!!!!) then MAYBE MAYBE MAYBE might be worth considering for say $5k.

Yeah, allstate will do the same thing just about. They'll say "It's against the law in your state to drop liability on a currently registered motorcycle." Odd, because my parents have a combined 40+ years of insurance experience, and they seem to think it's BS. You gotta drop your policy altogether, and re-up with them or elsewhere later.
