A lot of states are that way. Not sure how a cop would prove whether the motor is 49cc or 66cc though.

The Zeda-80 kit is 66cc. The 40mph on a stock would be with like a 28 tooth sprocket (no down low power), going down a steep hill, with the wind at your back, ha ha. mid 20's seems to be the norm from what i've seen.

How many CC's are those motors typically?

Not really interested in doing friction drive. Why not. Fun little side project for sh*ts and giggles. Thanks for the frame reference. Those are neat, but i'm not looking to spend $250-$300 on someone else's complete setup just to put more of my own time and money into it. I', looking to have around $200 total into the whole deal. No, but that's a neat idea. I'd venture to guess that takes some welding though, and I can't weld.

Yeah, I am being kind of picky with frames... I just wish there were better quality engines available, but that would be cost prohibitive, so we are stuck with flip of the coin Chinese motors from what I can tell.

Has anyone here built a motorized bicycle? I don't know why, but I have had this itch to build one, and it seems like for someone who is somewhat mechanically inclined. I have a Zeda-80 kit on the way. Now just keeping an eye out for the right bicycle. I live in a nice sized, unincorporated neighborhood with a big loop through it and a big sports park back behind that so I think this thing could be fun to putt around locally with. That being said, has anyone ever built one? From all the vids I have watched, I know the standard mods people make a porting, good carbs, high comp heads, upgrading the CDI box and spark plug, expansion chambered exhaust, etc. I'll keep mine stockish for the time being since it will be my first build, but was just curious as to whether or not anyone else on here had any experience with them.

Thought it would suck. Put off watching it for a long time. Finally decided to give it a shot over the weekend. The wife and I actually enjoyed it.

Based on what I've seen, if it was just me and my wife, I'd probably prefer the G70...however, we have kids, and we make at LEAST 1, if not 2 trips a year to OH and back, and the extra space of the Stinger would be utilized.

I had a blast. I love doing things like this because I know I would have loved it when I was a kid.

She aced it. I wasn't sure how'd she behave being around all those strange people and being 300g+ heavier than what I was hunting her at; (her weight has been increased for the molt over the summer, when when you increase their weight, they generally develop less tolerance for people), but she just stood on the glove the whole time, watching the kids, and didn't bate (try to fly off) once. Couldn't have gone any better.

I did a little presentation to a bunch of 5th graders yesterday. It was supposed to be 2 classes worth of kids, and it wound up being 4 classes worth at one time all packed into this classroom, and some staff. Apparently 2 other teachers kind of bailed on the speakers for their classes to come to see this. It was an awesome experience.

I did this before I turned 18. Games kind of changes once you turn 18, ha ha. Got into some buildings we thought were abandoned that wound up not. That made for for a rush.

Does anywhere in Columbus even sell 94 anymore? Way back in the day when I had my first DSM, I remember my friends and I had to go all the way to Sunoco on Morse and Karl to find 94. I don't recall anyone else ever even carrying that option.

How dafuq do you hook a boost controller up incorrectly?

I'd have to find the name, but there is a shop down here that works exclusively on Evo's over in Lewisville that offered to let me rent their dyno a while back. I asked if they would be interested in tuning a 1G DSM and they declined, but said if I wanted to tune or bring my own tuner, I could rent it. They ONLY tune Evo's. :/ As for a DSM club, there are only a handful of us with DSM's :/ Literally, I only know of a couple of us making any power, and a lot of them self tune. Another guy that is really good around DSM's is Dave Katz, but he is all the way in VA. He comes to Houston once a year to tune cars for TX2K but didn't make it through DFW this year.

I wish you were local to me so I could pay you to dyno tune my ish. I don't really trust anyone around here. I'm on a DSM82 right now (35R with an FP billet compressor wheel in a bolt on turbine housing), just street "tuning" and hoping I don't blow my ish up.
