In fairness, best buy has come a long way with their pricing. When i went their recently their prices were very competitive and they even price match on line retailers. I think they'll be around for a while.

Dude, go find a storage unit at an apartment complex. I found a place downtown that was renting a 10x10 for $130. I got a 10x20 garage at a local apartment complex for $65 a month.

Just finished a chat with a twc/spectrum person. I explained to them that i was paying $70/month after fees and bullshit for their 30/5 plan and noticed they were now offering 60/5 for $44. The rep refused to honor that price stating i was not a new customer. MOTHER FUCKER THEN WHY BOTHER SENDING ME THE FLYERS IN THE MAIL??

I've been emailing the City of UA regarding putting up a carport. Even something 18'x20' to cover two cars in my driveway (which wraps around the back of my house so it's not very visible from the street) HAS to be approved, with a building permit, which initially I felt was kind of crazy...with a touch of "mah rights R being infringed!!1!1".

 

But as I thought about it - especially when I was emailing a couple of companies that sell pre-engineered steel carports - I realized that there are wind- and snow-weight certifications that good carports need to be engineered. Plus, anything over 400sqft has to pass "neighborhood uniformity design" guidelines through City code. I wouldn't want someone elses' shittily-constructed lean-to blowing apart in a summer storm and causing damage to my house, property, or family. It's a good thing to have some city engineers checking all this garbage out.

 

A lot of regulations ARE there because someone was harmed or killed in the past. In certain situations, I'm definitely realizing the benefit of government oversight.

Or an easy way for the city to cherry pick money from its citizens.

They told me if I switch to Spectrum I can get 60mbps for $65/mo. Was paying more than that for slower speeds with TWC.

Saw like 30 Spectrum trucks and some utility pole trucks parked in the Eagle parking lot up this way this morning.

Cool story, i know.

My TWC internet bill for 15Mbps went up from $53.xx to $64.xx. I called to see what was up/possibly bitch. The guy got back on the phone and said, how about 60Mbps for $50.xx/month? Sold! Didn't have to bitch even a little bit.

 

speedtest.net shows me in the low 70s.

Could have gotten less with spectrum. The advert i got in the mail a few weeks ago was advertising 29.99 for 60mb.

Ill check when i get home in Delaware. I have TWC 30/5 and 90% of the time I'm getting closer to 50/7. Appears my old IP was a 71.67 address. Ill have to double check when i get home to see if its the same.

i got something in the mail the other day from spectrum that did not appear to be an advertisement. Ill read it tonight to see if its important. Received this on the 17th of Jan:
