Just curious, what constitutes "Time for an upgrade?" Consumerism is part of the problem IMO. The "I want" is more important than the "i need" in todays society. Just imagine if everyone didn't spend their money on useless electronics and instead put it towards retirement or some other useful resource.

Id still open a dispute with Paypal, assuming you paid that way. Tell them the item was not as described and 99% of the time they will side with the buyer. How far away did the car come from? Shipping costs? Id imagine best case scenario you'd have to eat shipping costs.
