  1. That's how we run our first Novice run session of the day, a lead follow. Everyone seems to like the help learning the line behind a seasoned driver. I think most groups, MVP Track Time included, are sticking with the "Point-To-Pass" on straights methodology. It's safe, seems to work well and still offers the high speed thrills. Hope to see you guys at Mid Ohio in October. Feff
  2. Not everyone is a Vette fan, but BS aside, the C6 is a damn good car and "NO" I don't own/drive one. If GM kills the Vette, and I find it hard to believe they would, they will have an uprising. I'd be willing to bet more people own Vettes in the USA then voted for Obama! What surprised me was GM taking Pontiac (pseudo "Sport" division with the G8 and Solstice) out and keeping GMC trucks. Seems they could have much easier kept Pontiac and rebadeged GMC as Chevy, but I guess Pontiac sales were pretty dismal. Hang on! Feff
  3. June 1st at Autobahn Country Club is Sold Out! Feff
  4. Rob, CR is invited to join us October 17-18. Hey you guys can come celebrate my 17th anniversary on October 17th with me. Feff http://www.MVPTrackTime.com
  5. We (http://www.MVPTrackTime.com) are at Mid Ohio in October. Single day is $250 and the full weekend is $350. You'll get six, 20-minute run sessions each day. Feff
  6. Little older movie, but watch "Ronin". Feff http://www.MVPTrackTime.com
  7. Love to have you run with us at Autobahn. The full track there is in huge demand. Our June 1st Novice run group is already sold out. The Intermediate and Advanced groups for June 1 are about 2/3 full. Feff www.MVPTrackTime.com
  8. Good Morning CR: Just a quick update on our Putnam Park track weekend in April is Sold Out and Autobahn Country Club (full 3.56 mile track near Chicago) on June 1st and August 3rd are filling fast. Mid Ohio registrations continue to trickle in. Visit us at www.MVPTrackTime.com for details and registration for all our track days. CYA at the track! Feff
  9. Watched it from day one, but it's become a little tedious to watch. Liked the last episode, as it was originalish, but sort of glad it's over except I'll mss Edward James Olmos as Adama, by far the best character. Now onto Stargate Universe! Feff
  10. Mud: Call the good folks at Simpson Racing (www.TeamSimpson.com) for a good helmet. Make sure it's an "SA" rated helmet SA2000 (good until 2010) or SA2005 (good until 2015) is fine. Feff
  11. Hi All: Brian thanks for the post. Over and above the call of duty! :bangbang: Put very simply I started MVP Track Time becuase I got tired of spending my hard earned money for track days and then HOPEFULLY getting four run sessions per day, especially after a 8-9 hour drive to places like Mid Ohio, Road America and Road Atlanta. We schedule six, 20-minute sessions and sometime squeeze in a 25-minute session or two in place of those 20's. Cost: Single Day $250 Weekend $350 One of the funniest things I've seen at our track days was a guy driving an older Ford Escort wagon in the advanced run group passing nearly every high dollar marque, inlcuding my Lotus Esprit V8, on the track. It was nothing short of classic. The driver later fessed up it had a Cosworth built Ford 4-cylinder, but a hoot none the less. Hope to see you guys at Mid Ohio, or any of our 2009 track events. Please feel free to call me at (314) 249-3770 if I can be of assitance. Happy Motoring! Feff
  12. I went to Elf (well Total in the wife's Jeep and my Saab, they own Elf and are re-branding some Elf products) synthetic oils last year from the Performance Oil Store (www.PerformanceOilStore.com). We were running Fuchs Silkolene in the Radcial and the Elf was a huge improvement for cooling and the idle smoothed out. Feff
  13. Rebuilt a leaking water pump and removed the body to weld in the new mounting points for the shoulder harnesses so we could use a Hans Device. Did some general clean up too. Feff
  14. If you are looking at the new Dodge with the coil suspension and plan on towing, you'd be better served with the F250. Neighbor purposely moved his new truck purchase up a year to get the leaf-spring suspension (he's a Dodge guy) because the coil springs allow a trailer to sway more. Feff
  15. I keep thinking about Arnold in "The Seveth Day" when he went to Re-Pet to get his family's dead dog cloned. YUCK! Feff
  16. Both my 12 year old daughter and 9 year old son are mildly interested in "dad's race car". My wife doesn't want them to get the idea of racing at age 16. Feff http://www.MVPTrackTime.com
  17. If no one puts a CR event together at Mid Ohio, you are welcome to run with us (www.MVPTrackTime.com) there October 17-18. Happy Motoring! Feff
  18. Think of your current purchases as if you walked into a car dealer, grocery store, Wal-Mart, etc. and bought the stuff you were looking for at a 35% discount. That's what you are doing with new contributions into a 401K now. When it comes back, and historically it does, you'll have a fair amount of lower priced shares (units actually) headed back up in value. Feff
  19. Now let's think about the corporate taxes XOM will pay or the personal taxes XOM shareholders will pay. XOM is indirectly bailing out the car companies, banks, etc. What we need are a lot more companies like XOM to provide jobs and tax revenue. Feff
  20. I kept telling my wife, the music (not the singing), was too good to be live. Sounded just like listening to a CD. Feff http://www.MVPTrackTime.com
  21. The 4 cylinder turbo engines and drivetrain are bullett proof. My 1990 Saab 9000 Turbo is still running around with 180,000+ miles on it according the the guy I sold it too. I think $4,000 is too much for that car. I bought a 2004 Saab 9-5 AERO this summer for $14,500 with only 22,900 miles on it and it was still under the factor warranty. Feff
  22. Hi All: Just got this note from the guys on the Factory Five forum. I won't comment.... http://www.ffcobra.com/forums/showthread.php?t=206492 Feff
  23. Most, if not all, tracks including Mid Ohio mandate a roll bar for a Miata. Good choice of track car though as it's inexpensive to run and damn fun to boot. Feff
  24. Try www.UnitedStangs.com as well. Feff
  25. Lotus Esprit compliments James Bond, both teh S1 in the "Spy Who Loved Me" and the Turob Esprit in "For Your Eyes Only". I've owned five different Esprits and am thinking about another. Feff
