Haha, I just replaced the rear differential and driveshaft in mine last week. It wasn't completely gone, but starting to go. This was the only real weakpoint I have found in the car, and now it's not even an issue with my upgraded parts. For rollonu, the 2004 GTOs did not have the same driveshaft or differential as the 05-06.

I think you'd do fine with that power as far as transmission and rear end as long as you aren't launching on the shot a whole bunch. As far as GTO's in general, I can't recommend these cars enough. One thing that is often over looked is the handling. The stats on a sheet of paper aren't that great, but the feel of the car is amazing. It is very well balanced and has a great overall feel to it.

That red one looks pretty sketch, imo. I can tell you that I am absolutely loving my 04 model (42K miles), and it really is one of the best cars I have ever owned (I did upgrade the differential and driveshaft, which people have pointed out as the weekpoints). It's tough to find one in really good condition, but it's worth the wait imo.

Obviously, my opinion isn't with the masses, but I absolutely love this car.

I agree with most of it. I didn't think the cursing was appropriate or helpful. The important thing is whether or not this father is being consistent with the child.

My GTO sounds meh to me when I'm driving it, but when I hear it from outside when someone else is driving I'm surprised by how good it sounds.

Let's see... I like V8 Mustangs, LSX w/cam, 7MGTE or 2JZGTE (jet plane sounds), and as far as 4bangers I prefer the Subaru Boxer rumble or screaming S2K.
