Thanks for the feedback Tim. The camera has ended up being much more fun a gift than I would have thought. I'm going to try it like you said, f/3.5-f/4 this afternoon when I go to a car gathering and see how the shots turn out. I'm also going to try out adjusting aperture, right now it's at 8, what should I be putting it on? Edid: aha, field of depth and aperture are the same thing. lesson learned, lol.

Bwahahahahaha, one of my favorite things to do is call my friends in Ohio anytime between November and March and compare weather, lol.

I left the camera in full auto the entire time since I'm very much a noob. If any of you camera experts have tips that a novice like me can use to improve shots I'd appreciate them.

I would just offer to do the interior painting if they sign the 2-year lease. If they have kids and a dog you are putting your money at risk doing any upgrades for them imo.

As long as the gains remain in the Roth 401K account it's just like gains in any other Roth IRA, I've already been taxed on it.

Tax is handled the same as with a regular 401K deduction. In my case the Roth just contributes after tax money so there is no difference. And since it's in a Roth account there is no tax from capital gains so that isn't a problem either. It really is the best retirement account option I've had.

I work for Bank of Texas/BOK Financial. The way mine works is instead of going into one of the fund choices my contribution/match goes into a BOK brokerage account (cash equivilants) and I buy/sell/trade pretty much whatever stocks, bonds, etfs, funds, etc... that I want. This is the first company I've worked for that let's me do it and I love it! I've always loved investing and it really bothers me to have to chose between the limited amount of funds available, pay high commissions, and they are so diverse it's hard to get ahead.

I wonder if you tried to crotch punch Michelle Duggar if your entire fist and arm would just get inhaled by it?

I have a self directed roth 401k with the bank I work for. I just had to send in one form and now my contributions/match go into an account that I can do whatever I want with, basically. IMO this is the best option I've ever had for a retirement account.

I'm ok with it in the sense that they seem to raise kids that will get jobs and not go to jail, etc...but they are also teaching them backwards beliefs like creationism and other mouth breather ideas.

Obviously I wouldn't pay for full coverage unless I had to seeing as how I'm sure that I'm a better driver than Doc and Brian. j/k hahaha. I would consider keeping it more in Houston than in Columbus due to the higher number of illegal/uninsured motorists.
