So, I checked my mail on Friday and got an electricity bill in it from the City of College Station Utilities. I looked it over and it looks like they are billing me $256 they say I am passed due for a place I lived at in 2001 when I was a student at Texas A&M.
I don't remember owing any money and this is the first I have heard of it since I moved out of the residence in May of 2001. The letter says if I don't pay it they are going to report it to my credit so, I'd like some advice as to how you all would go about disputing it. I want to send a certified letter to them to dispute it, but I am not sure what to put in it.
I know it isn't a whole lot of money, but I really don't think I owe it. That and I'm trying to buy a sports car in the next month, as I've been driving around my RX for over a year now and it's like being in a coma, and I am saving all the money I can for the car.
Thanks in advance for the advice.
