  1. Nah, it probably was hers. Most people who have money and drive super nice cars weather kit or not, cannot drive. Guess she thought that her tires were dry after driving through the water. If she would of stayed on the gas she probably would of been fine.
  2. after owning a nice set of tools and a tool box. then currently owning three chrysler products (dsm's). i would not wish that on anyone. ha
  3. the diesel drags are coming back to town this weekend or next i forget.
  4. i honestly hate this state worth a passion. people are nice and the pace is slow, but i hate local and state law enforcement.
  5. yeah, they all grind. i think what killed it was doing awd donuts in the middle of a field in the mud, in second gear. oh wel. time for another one
  6. evidently i did a awd burnout through the wet box. how this was I have no idea because I drove around it all. But this was an idiot down here at the track that said I did. I just told him spinning all four tires leaving the line, doesn't classify as a burnout.
  7. +1. Corvettes are not overrated, they are underrated. I have pulled 1.67g's in a z06 and I thought I was going to crash the company car on the off ramp, but nope, held its own. next the skyline is the closet thing to it, but if you turn it to track mod or turn on launch control your warranty is voided. I have saw many engines replaced in corvettes for free due to the warranty. I have saw many heavily modified z06's with bigger brakes, coil over suspension, etc, come into the plant and have a new motor put in. I really don't think nissan is going to warranty out the skyline if drive it like you stole it, which is what every corvette owner needs to do. Corvette owners have this bad rep of doing 45 in 6th gear, because they know what they have and don't have to be hammering on it all the time and taking corners at proper (fast) speeds. There is no way that anyone can ever flame a new vette. They are what we all want, a fast car with full suspension and big brakes, backed by a factory warranty, and a huge car scene and lots of friends that come with. The problem is most of us cannot afford them. flame war ended.
  8. ah haha. golden shower anyone?
  9. yeah. funny story. shattered the center diff in my first trans. so I purchased a sheptrans stage 3. after a few awd donuts in a field in front of the city municipal building, now that shit is grinding. Leave it to me to destroy a fully built trans.
  10. check it the pigs don't give us the flu. its the mexicans http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/04/30/ep.swine.flu.questions.answers/index.html
  11. agreed. but thats what the cavi is for. cause 6 days of the week my dsm is on jack stands. crank walk ain't really that common of a thing either. it just happens to be a fluke in some dsm's.
  12. 15.67 on my cavalier. now my talon.. don't want to think of that cause some months I have dropped upwards of 3 g's down, and other months like 500 or more. its the problem with owning a heavily modified car that breaks down a lot.
  13. sorry. ls6. too many forums at once.
  14. just call the store and ask for a 1983 corvette. or a headgasket for a 91 rx7, and after they tell you they can't get it, just ask for a valve cover gasket. don't forget the spark plugs on your duramax either.
  15. thanks everyone. i will be done with the rebuild soon
  16. at the end of the day, you are still driving a honduh.
  17. just remember your parts house is just that, they sell parts and most of the time give bad advice, (because they sell parts, not fix cars). unless you come to my job (advance auto parts) in bowling green kentucky. we know what we are talking about. 5 of us have heavily modified cars pushing lots of boost.
  18. coming down for nmca? look me up i be working at advance auto parts if you need anything...
  19. yea, saw this deer up here running at me, thought about slowing down but didn't really.. it really sucks though dude. i was with my mom years ago and she hit 2 at the same time, and she said "i can beat the deers" and floored it. yep hit one right in the middle of the truck and the other bastard hit the side of the truck. oh well insurance money for her.
  20. Yeah, another con about boosting a ls7, is the "it lasted today," until you blow them up cause the internals are not strong enough to hold boost. I have saw way to many ls7's blow up after being boosted.
  21. yeah, worked in the plant for a year and a half. cool things about corvettes, everyone they build is sold already, whether it be a dealership or private seller. Yes, they are working two weeks and are laid off two weeks, but the line will continue to run, and plus when they released the ZR1 for sale, they sold out of the first 2 1/2 years worth of them. want to see some cool shots http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p53/brian-preston/Corvette/DSC06190.jpg http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p53/brian-preston/Corvette/DSC06192.jpg yea these shots are back behind the plant and are the first 12 prototype ZR1 were built on the line way back in december of 07... ... these vets will never see a seller, they are just the MVB test cars. if u need corvette scoop let me know i fill ya in
  22. I am actually from dayton, and planning on moving back this summer. Just looking for the car scene when i get up there.
  23. yeah, i was thinking they would enjoy the hot oil if the oil pressure gauge ever busts and they might like to see my water temp as well.
  24. hey everyone. I hate introductions, but since I have to post up I will tell you about me. First I have been working on cars since I was 16, started off with a slow camaro, bought a cavalier (which i still have), then I bought a 2002 CBR954RR, a few months after I bought my bike I was t-boned by a jeep cherokee. So while I was laid up and collected unemployment and insurance money I purchased a 1991 Eagle Talon Tsi. Since then I have invested way too much of my money into this beast of a car. Back in late november I fried the wiring harness in multiple spots (previous owner had a wrong altenator on it). Then I decided to jack the car up and perform some adjustments on it, and the jack went through the floor board. (the talon is a canadian model, thus rust has been a big issue). Needless to say, after much of my time, I have decided to do this car right, and I bought a 91 eclipse gsx, that has a beautiful frame, and wiring harness. I am in the process of swapping everything over from the talon to the eclipse. Now for the parts list. Full suspension, you name it, i have it, just not adjustable tubular a-arms (which i really want but cannot afford at the moment), bushings all around, bigger sway bars, strut bars, eibach pro-kit, kyb agx struts, (next step is coil overs all around but again, it costs money). Engine mods:currently big 16g (which once i pull the motor that is being upgraded to a gt3582r or a holset hx40) 560cc injectors, holley fuel rail, aeromotive a1000 fuel pump, 8 gallon jnz fuel cell, aeromotive fuel pressure regulator, all stainless fuel lines, tial wastegate, greddy type s, and greddy type rs BOV, fmic, 3 inch open down pipe, Apexi AVCR electronic boost controller, SAFC (which is being replaced by DSM link or megasquirt that is still up for debate), all autometer guages (name the gauge I probably have it). Shep stage 3 transmission also with a welded center diff. Umm, really can't think but I know I missing probably a lot. My best time at Beech Bend 1/4 mile track was 11.626 at 121mph, my 1/8th was 7.542 at 94mph and my 60ft was 1.76. The same day I broke my rear axle and destroyed my transmission. I hate track bite, its to rough, haha. A little about myself, I am a broke college student going to Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. I have been working at Advance Auto Parts for over 3 years, and during that time I have also worked at the Corvette Plant for a year and a half. Below are some pictures of my toys. http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p53/brian-preston/Talon%20Parts/DSC_0204.jpg http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p53/brian-preston/Talon%20Parts/DSC_0197.jpg http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p53/brian-preston/Talon%20Parts/DSC_0198.jpg Those are all of my Talon, this eclipse is what I am currently swapping into. http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p53/brian-preston/DSC_0128.jpg and last but not least, a memory of my old toy that was destroyed by a jeep. http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p53/brian-preston/Picture054.jpg also, I am trying to start my own photo business so if you want some shots let me know, I am a cheap photographer, and can show you my portfolio.
