I brought up the kids in cages in post #94. In post #104 you said "As far as putting people in cages..." so you were replying to me. If you didn't intend your reply to rebut my claim of human rights violations over misdemeanor offenses in some way, then why did you reply at all?

You said the facilities we're putting them in are maybe 1000 times better than where they came from, and they're getting fed regularly when they weren't before. You say this, why? If not to suggest that they shouldn't complain about the human rights atrocities we're subjecting them to, then what reason would you bring that up? Where's the spin?

You claiming that refugees should be grateful that we're separating them from their kids, in some cases permanently, and putting them in cages because 3 hots and a cot is probably better than the conditions they're fleeing. I don't have an opinion on New Orleans, don't know enough. Throwing good money after bad isn't wise but there's also a difference between forcing people to move from neighborhoods in one of America's oldest and most important (historically) cities, and yuppies who build mcmansions out in the hills because they want a big house and lots of space. I think those people are dumb, but I feel the same way about pretty much everyone who chooses to live outside of 270 because they need 4000 Sq ft and a full acre. I think people would have been better off rebuilding Franklinton immediately after the flood instead of just building northward and letting the area languish, so maybe that applies to New Orleans as well. Or maybe New Orleans is so far gone from environmental damage that it's not worth saving. I dunno.
