  1. Kinda small gas tank, don'tcha think? Nice, I had my eye on one of those awhile back but changed my mind, still think they're great bikes though.
  2. Had a '99 Passat 1.8T and while it was a good car that thing COOKED oil. I'd change it at 3k religiously and it was gassy and black every time. That engine bay stayed hot for hours too. I would want service records, looking for regular oil changes and also a timing belt service if it is anywhere near 100k as they were known to have timing belt failures prior to the recommended change interval. That said, they drive well for FWD and the interiors aren't bad. Peppy in stock form, easily boosted to much higher levels if you feel so inclined.
  3. Yes they are. I would never do that to you though, I'm too nice of a guy.
  4. So if you make snide comments toward me are they considered "ginger snaps"..? Ooohh, feel the burn...
  5. You're the one driving a stickercharged Miata, might as well name your dog "Mugen". Now if you don't mind, I'm busy attaching a three-tier wing and Type R badge to the back of my Jetta...
  6. I love that the lapdance is so much better when the stripper is cryin'... That and Sapphire martinis, which also please Sheeba, apparently...
  7. Wow, the Yeungling underground never ceases to amaze me. I know some guys that do the same thing, coordinate their trips to PA to bring in a ton of Yeungling. I like it fine, but don't get the fascination unless you grew up in PA and miss drinking it. It's good, and inexpensive, but not exactly the nectar of the gods. Still, when you like something that is hard to get, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Years ago I used to have my buddy in NC bring me Texas Pete's hot sauce. Now I can buy it wherever, but back then it was hard to get. I still have him bring me some Cheerwine off and on, just because I can't have it otherwise. Good luck.
  8. Might be a GVX, the hottest of all Yugos... One-point-THREE, bitches! That's Hayabusa territory! Oh yeah, it's a car, and still slow... Still have a soft spot for the Yugo, it came out when I was 11, and I was rooting for the underdog... Too bad they sucked.
  9. The Dodge 5.9L Magnum is a good engine, backed by a sketchy transmission. Repairs aren't ridiculous, but it's something to keep in mind. I know several people who had converter issues around 125-140k. Not super expensive, but it's an issue to consider. Good trucks overall though. They drink more gas than a 5.3, but a 5.3 with 180k+ is probably pretty tired and sipping some oil. If they're close in price I'd lean toward the Dodge, assuming nothing is seriously wrong with it. If the Chevy is cheaper and has a lot of service records in its favor vs no service history on the Dodge it's the winner. Obviously you'll have to look at both of them closely, as there are plenty of things that could be a go-no go gauge for either one. Good luck.
  10. Dig the c-pillar scoops, straight outta JCWhitney! Tunnel-ram = hi-tech Reminds me of a car I saw years ago, tunnel-rammed Chevy II with a cage, similar _custom_ paint, etc. "What's it run?" I asked... "13.80's, it's a show car." Ugh... That thing is waaaay bitchin', all it needs is a naked lady air freshener and a couple somas tucked under the console... Straight peeeeimpin'...
  11. Those X1/9s have awesome rollover protection for a targa top, anybody that resurrects cool oddballs like that deserves some props. Surprising amount of TR7 love on here, apparently CR hearts the wedgemobiles... I wanna see another hot rod Yugo like the 1.5L racer I saw a few years ago... Hey Sean, did Dave ever get some A/C in the office? Iceman sez hi.
  12. I've had both a 10V a 20V and they are great cars. I dunno about this particular car, but I really liked mine. Non-quattro w/o heated seats = stripper, but the 10V is economical, probably approaching 30+ mpg in this car if it is running right. So here's a bump...
  13. Oh yeah, the ultimate old school travel accessory, the AAA Triptique! 20 pages of map snippets with big ink stamps that say "const." for the construction sections... I'll be honest, a couple years ago I walked into the same AAA office I went to 15 years ago and had them give me 1 last triptique for a trip. I've cheated the last couple years and used teh interweb, but the triptique is near and dear to my heart, lots of memories... It was a great perk pre-internet.
  14. Lighted squirters... I remember kids coming into Jeg's asking for "cobra eyes"... Initially we were like WTF? Then "dude how gay is that?! Try Pep Boys or Autozone!" Then "ummm, yeah, third aisle over, thanks APC..." Oh the shame... Have to ask the seller where the chinese dragon seatcovers went and why he doesn't have any peeling vinyl stripes on the car... Straight peeeimpin'...
