  2. I don't want to toss it, but I don't know what to do with it. Came out of a friend's Jeep Commander. There was a problem with the car and they thought it was the radio, turned out to be something else.

  3. Goofy like what? 1000 lbs of mulch and a bed full of dirt it didn't look like a baja truck if that is what you are asking.

Goofy as in it rides level with the front life but then the rear end is sagging when the bed is loaded. Where currently it rides with the front low and then rides level when full.

  4.

I wouldn't recommend rhino lining the wheel wells, if its not done right gunk and water will get behind it and rust away before you have a chance to do anything. Get the real rust proofing if you're going to do that. Also for the dodge they had a rear fender well option.

Rhino line/ line-x is a must. Just don't get any oil or fuel on it, it'll eat it up.

What is the real rust proofing stuff for the wheel wells?

Chevy has plastic fender liners for $150 installed ($120 DIY). I thought the Rhino would be better for $200

Where do I find a applicator for Fluid Film around here?

  5. Automatic LOL? Mind if I find out what you paid for it?

Max, try Fluid Film for the underside. You'll need a creeping rust inhibitor for upstate NY winters!

Auto. . . no one offered a stick unless I got a diesel truck for $60k.

The truck was $42k MSRP and with the employee discount I got $7k off. There was another $1k for trade in on top of your trade in. I was going to get $3,500 for my Element plus $1k but I sold it for $5k to a high school kid and his dad.

I ended up putting $15k down with the money from the Element and some extra. $397 a month payment.

  6. Test drove all kinds of trucks and finally settled on this new Silverado 1500. I drove Rams, Tundras, Chevys, and Nissans. I was looking at used for the price, but I get the GM discount and I just could not pass that offer up. First new car to me.

Anyone have the "Rhino Liner" or equal? I was thinking of getting it, $500 including the side rails. I was thinking of having inside the rear fenders sprayed also to protect it from rusting out.

    It has

    Leather

    Reverse camera and sensors

    Heated mirrors

    20" wheels

    Side steps

    tow package

    5.3l V8

  7. I love this car, it carries it all and comfortably. I am 6'4" and fit inside with tons of headroom, even in the back. Fold up the seats or take them out to haul dogs, mulch, supplies, wood, packages, all kinds of stuff. Rides like it is new. I am trading this in for $4500 on Monday, so it is not worth selling less then the listed price. Maintained excellent mechanically, I do use the car for hauling things, so the interior has some scratches. I will be cleaning it up Sat. CR price $5,000. CL price $5200.

    Element:

    145,xxx miles

    2wd

    5-speed

    EX (high model)

    Alloy wheels

    Tow kit

    New brakes

    New, expensive Michellin tires ($700)

    Some dings

    Interior has scratches

    Drives great

  8. I settled on a Silverao 1500 LT Crew Cab with leather, backup camera, 20" wheels and some other features. I will be getting it on Monay

Since I have never owned a truck:

How do I keep the rear fenders from rusting out?

Do I do a rubber liner or get Rhino liner? (I don't want the plastic one, too slippery)

What other options/aftermarket stuff should I get?

    Other precautions?

Do I put the front plate on it?

  9. Nice pick up on the camera! Have fun. Your composition will improve as you play around. I am always learning, plus everyone else's pictures always seem to look better then mine.

I like that second to last pic. No idea what the car is, besides a piece, but I can't help but look at it to figure it all out.

  10. The Chevy should be more than $8500 off if you're using your uncles plan. If you're considering new, there are some great incentives on new GMC's and Chevy's. Be more than happy to throw some numbers together for you on a Sierra.

    I want:

    Crew cab

    V8 6 speed auto

    Short bed

    Leather/heated seats if you can

    4x4

    Blue tooth

  11. I went and test drove a Silverado 1500 and a Tundra, both new. I get GM Employee discounting as my uncle worked at GM. The Chevy will be around $36k out the door and the Tundra $41k but with 0% APR (until May 3) so it is only $17 more a month. I did like the Tundra better, more power but 3mpg less.

How does one talk prices down even lower? The Chevy is ~$8500 off and the Tundra is $4200 below sticker. Should I wait till July to go new when '14 models come out?

  12. a....I brake checked her back a couple of times and then I just took off

    left lane hogs are turrible

Way to show her Rich. I have never brake checked anyone, I don't want them to hit me. Even if it is their fault, I don't want the hassle of fixing my car.

To the original Topic, way out of line.
