  1. Yeah, pretty sure they even make a motor mount kit to swap honda K-series in there which is an upgrade...

     

    there a few mr2 guys who have it aswell but it costs around $8-10k

    always lol. i plan on going to pinks at norwalk and up to canada july 10-12 for a Lexus meet. there will be track and drag events. if your jelly bean can handle a road course you should come. i dont need a roll bar for some reason. there is a mr2 meet that same weekend up there.

  2. You will need a new manifold and piping, the intake is also bigger on the 2zz than the 1zz, and a Power FC to tune it. What kind of turbo comes on the TS kit?

     

    the greddy 2571. so your saying basicly the kit i have the only parts useable are the turbo and bov if i go 2zz?

  3. 1. Nitrous is just stupid on a Spyder, and anybody who would use it is just a dumbass. It's just not the point of the car.

     

    2. When my 2zz Spyder was making 173whp I ran a 13.8, at 204whp I ran a 13.2. Not saying it was faster than anything, just thought you guys might want some actual times.

     

    3. I think you should have done a 2zz swap before buying a turbo kit. The 1zz motor is basically made of glass, and you wouldn't have as much power at first, but in the end the 2zz makes much more power much more reliably.

     

    At first I was just going to turbo my 1zz. Then when my buddy found a small oil leak when looking at replacing my pulleys. I posted if my TS kit will work on a 2zz (if I change the manifold) no one could give me a definate answer.

  4. I know noobs arent suppose to chime in on these.. but I gotta ask.. Whats the purpose of buying a turbo if you only want to use 7-8 psi? why not just get a nitrous kit for that amount of boost... And ps when you first showed up I wanted to race my 3rd gen eclipse with faulty tranny against you... Now my tranny is fixed want to meet up at national trails?

     

    I have a Zex kit actually from a previous car. BTH I thought about running it but theres absolutely no where to put the bottle with out loosing storage space. These links show all I have. I actually took out the spare and plastics up front when the hood was installed. So really all I have left are the bins.

    Not to many Spyder guys run nitrous. They claim its not good for the motor and a turbo with low boost is much more reliable.

     

    As for racing Im always down but like i said my bumper wont be here til the middle part of May. Any of you guys planning to go to Pinks at Norwalk?

    lotus uses the 2zz toyota motor thats pretty much a direct swap as i have a 1zz stock.

     

    any who for $hits and giggles the best comparison i found was the new camaro ss (422hp)does the qm at 13.4sec a lotus elise (190) does it in 13.5sec. so my theory of competeing with 450hp muscle cars should be pretty accurate.

    im not saying the spyder would win but it should be about equal. i mean the a stock elise has no torque and still does mid 13s.Their around 1900lbs@190hp. American muscle cars are getting those times with double the weight and hp.

  8. oh and you fail again. where do you get that crap from? 300 whp still isnt anywhere near enough to play with a 450 whp LS1. evr heard of torque?

     

    to be honest i just quarter mile calculated it. i just took a last model gto (3700lbs@450) vs spyder (2200@300). the spyder won by .4sec. figued it should be a good estimate.

    I was thinking about it myself. Kinda getting to sick of mod'n (weather folks agree with what i done or not). Looking into geting a Boxster or maybe a new Gensis.

     

    Not impressed at all. Gonna go from really slow to slow...

     

    Actually it will be a huge improvement. Around 250whp-300whp depending if I motor swap (7-8psi). It will be equalivant to around 450hp muscle car.

  10. Just wanted to say hi to all my haters and maybe some of the newbies who did she my 21 page intro lol.

     

    So I guess I'll give you guys a update on whats up with my car. I bought a TRD quickshifter, some lightweight pulleys, and guess what a turbo kit. The kit is incomplete as it comes from Top Secret that way. So I will be needing some extra parts ic, injectors, and a ems.

     

    I sold my bumper and stock hood which was a stupid mistake. The C-one wont be here till the middle part of May I ASSumed it would be here alot faster.

  11. You guys are right. Talking with another member in a non oven like tone he basicly stated that I joined a racing forum with out any racing parts. So as Alex says am disapointment.

     

    I put my head on the CR chopping block and basicly can promise you guys that my car will be fast enough soon. Not 8 sec in the quarter mile but a nice well rounded car (new motor, rims, down the road s/c or turbo and suspension ).

     

    The canards WONT be going on my new bumper. After my bumper is on and painted shortly after I do plan on painting my hood leaving the vent centers black.

     

    I really did join just for "cars and coffee"
