  1. One of my buddies from college is getting his racing license in my E30 this weekend so I have been burning the candle at both ends getting it back together from paint and fixing a bunch of little issues that I rushed through last year. More photos to come.

  2. E30 is the lightest so you'll likely get the most bang for your buck there. Problem with E30s is you lose the brake booster and the biggest tire you can run in the back is a 235/245. These are getting more and more expensive even for a shell.

E36 has a little more room in the bay and for the rear tire. It will come to your personal opinion of E36s - I personally don't like the aesthetically so I would skip the E36.

E46 is a sweet spot in my opinion. The electronics are a little more advanced, but not so much where you need to spend thousands to get your gauges working. Plenty of room under the hood. Plenty of room for a big tire. Really great aftermarket support for other parts.

Anything past here gets cool, but has less aftermarket support or is more expensive. E87/E92 would be rad, but again, more expensive.

The E39/E34/7 series is a different animal. Are you looking for a sports car or a cruiser?

As for the E31 argument the V12 in that car is a joke. I sold a manual 850i earlier this year and haven't missed it a day. That would make a cool LS swap as an overall improvement to the chassis.

  3. Are you staying in the same area of the city or somewhere else. I’d like to get out of the suburbs and get a place with a detached garage.

I got the front mostly on yesterday. I need to figure out the sway bar and a get you there alignment. I put multi leafs on the back so I can drive it until the parts come for the mini tub get here and I get time to do it all. Then I’ll start planning for the LS swap. Should be fun at 3100lbs and 400 whp. Then we’ll see if it needs a blower or turbo or not.

Not sure yet. Original plan was to move in 2-3 years to the foxfield area and a lot of those houses already have detached shops. This next house will probably just be a nicer house, but nothing crazy. 3 car garage and hopefully high enough ceilings for a lift and no HOA or one that allows trailers. Most likely Roxborough or Parker.

  4. How’s the bimmer going. We need to meet up some time. I picked up a project too. 67 Camaro RS. I’m waiting for all new coil over suspension front and back.

I'm moving this week so I've been making progress so it can leave my garage. I got the new KW suspension for the E30 M3 and waiting on a few parts to arrive so I can get it all installed. It should see the track late July/early August.

    Camaro looks fun!

  5. As usual, things are getting out of hand.

Cleaning up some overspray (from a previous paint job) on the front subframe/suspension, which is all brand new. Rear subframe/suspension had some parts that I had not addressed (bushings mainly). New gas tank with a fuel pump I have a little more faith in. After this the car should have all new parts within the last 100 miles. Track days in this month... I also picked up a sandblast unit, which is helping me clean up parts and prep them for weld in reinforcements.

  6. So after rushing to get the car running for some races last year and not loving the new paint job I decided to take it all apart - get it painted - and put it back together again when I have time on my side.

I went with 964 911 mint green. Its a lot of green right now, but all of my trim was recently done in SEM trim flat black + lots of carbon fiber I think it that will really help offset it.

  7. Glad to see you’re having fun with it, but where’s the in-car track footage?!

Open to suggestions. I bought a roll cage mount for my phone, but the video is REALLY shaky. I have some, but probably not worth posting. I also have some chase footage from PPIR, but haven't edited it yet.

What do you do for in car?

  8. Took the car to the High Plains Raceway a few weeks ago for a shakedown. Outside of a blown power steering line the car ripped.

Week after I went to competition driving school at Pikes Peak International Raceway and am now licensed to wheel to wheel race in a number of series. More videos to come.

Still a long way to go to get the car how I want it, but she runs and drives now.
