  1. Just out of curiosity, how many passes/seasons do you see out of a motor?
  2. I'd hit up Jay racing or Precision autosports
  3. You can do 700whp on these motors in stock form, most likely with a head gasket. As far as tuning I remember back in my supra days the na-t guys would run a plug and play AEM for a 7MGTE (mk3 supra turbo) and put the 7m cas in the 2j to get rid of the dizzy. Seems like alot of mk4 guys back in the day were runnning safc's for low power levels like his. Maybe try and find some sort of locking dizzy for the car?
  4. Has this had a motor put in it?
  5. I'll be out there thursday. Hopefully some 11 second passes will ensue, I'm sure that the customer will like to hear that. You coming out this week?
  6. That's what I kept hearing. We had 12 psi in both tires. Checked before each run. I'm gonna try 15 this week. I saw through the stands the green mustang that broke the studs and I thought it was yours. What kinda times are you getting out of the new setup?
  7. I don't believe were running tubes
  8. I'll have to get back with you on the boost/peak tq. and shock settings as I have no clue.
  9. I hear those dude's balls are so big, they put them in the trunk for traction. The vette is badass regardless of setup. When it comes down to it dude is going fast as fuck and that's all that matter. World records aren't east to set, this dude did it. I trust the right decisions were made on the car. Keep on with it!
  10. 11-12psi comes out to the tires being damn near flat. The car must weigh a ton. The ZZP turbo kit puts the DP right underneath the brake master, less than 1/2" of clearance. I'm going to try and wrap both of them for this week and see what happens. Maybe some self tappers in the wheels to hold the tires if I find out that's what's happening/
  11. I'll talk to the customer about it. It is a street daily driven car so I'm not sure if he wants to go crazy with it
  12. MT et drags were the tires. Did a pretty good burnout. I believe it has upgraded shocks and springs. Full weight car. Highest trap speed was a 118. Car has a built tranny with some sort of convertor and shift settings have been changed. I didn't tune the car, was just handed the keys and told to do the best I could.
  13. I thought it had something along those lines. Any idea what this will yield time wise over the previous setup? I'm sure at this point it's splitting hairs.
  14. That's my mentality, This car should do 1.6 60' if I had a clue what I was doing.
  15. Word. I'll be out there again next thursday in it. Running 12# of pressure in the slicks and I also suspect were spinning the wheels inside the tires on the launch. 12# looks damn near flat on the car. Might try 15 and a chalk mark to see if we are in fact spinning them. Trap speed was 118 at the highest I believe.
  16. Running 23# on race gas. How many # should I try and launch it at. I'm trying to find the maximum rpm that the car will hold without spinning but the brakes don't seem to want to hold it.
  17. Hard to tell, gauge looked like 3-5#
  18. Mid to high 11s is what we guesstimated. This thread isn't to focus on the 1/4 time. I'm asking for tips on how to launch it better or does it need a line lock or 2 step?
  19. Went to Kilkare last night to get some times out of a customers car. It's a 70mm turbo Grand Prix running slicks on the front. No line lock or 2 step. I was staging the car like a diesel, getting on the brakes at the first light, then brake boosting it and going forward to the second light. I couldn't get anything better than a 1.9 60'. I'm not sure if I wasn't getting high enough in the RPMs or what. Car has a built auto with some sort of stall in it. Any suggestions on how to improve this? Car made 400 whp on a dyno dynamics and I expect it should run much better than the 12.4 we got out of it. Thanks!
  20. Also interested in this. Unless the hat style intake distributes the air that much more evenly amongst the runners, I'm confused.
  21. Yah, I talked with Dave Blundell and he reccomended the K-Pro with an RSX ecu and hondata cam gear. Seems to me the customer would be better off with a motor swap than turboing this motor but I can only give advice.
  22. yah. not sure. called cory and left a message. getting ahold of sean powers and blundell so we'll see what happens.
  23. Yah, just heard about Brook's motor. Any idea what happened there?
