Anyone interested in Land Speed Racing (1-mile race) if it was in Ohio?
106mm replied to Got-Boost?'s topic in Passing Lane
Here's the basic tech sheet from The Texas Mile. http://www.texasmile.net/pdf/TechSheetStreetVintageVehiclesTexasMile2009.pdf You'll notice that it's similar to drag racing requirements. You'll only need a parachute if you're going F A S T. -
I never understood the need to put music behind a great video. Pro Mods and Nitro Coupes are the coolest things in the history of things.

I haven't drag raced in while. I'm more of a standing mile guy these days. You'd be amazed how cool it is to have another 3/4 of a mile left after the quarter mile stops. Sold the drag car, so I have no competition to offer you. Sorry. lol I'm also about 6 hours from you...

You won't be laughing soon. I bought 3. I had to take quick inventory of the misspellings and typos for posterity. "reciepts, buks, allmost, independant, sinked, under nieth, disaapointed, stearing... AND FOR THE WIN..."If someone brings my $3700 CASH its theres". Instant classic. lol

I could be fast AND furious with that car!

You'd be surprised how quickly you get used to it... I'm kidding. I'm still not used to it.

HOLY CRAP, LET'S JUMP SOMETHING!!!

I don't think my gearing would help me. How about 150 to 200? lol I'm a big fan of Gixxer 1000s. I'd love to have one. My 2nd bike these days is just a Bandit 1200S. Maybe next year...

It's definitely a good thing. Lots of fun in roll races on the interstate. lol

This guy should have been one of the host on Top Gear

Well shot, too. On a similar note, that's a bitchin' Audi. -
It's only 322 hp right now. I'm hoping for 500-ish when the upgrades are finished. It's a GT35R turbo with some other go-fast stuff on a 2007 Hayabusa. I rode it over 3,000 miles on the street last summer. It is a pretty wild ride. lol http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s178/vettestuhhail/2004_0101BUSA3-14-100018.jpg

Kickin' up the boost, installing secondaries, air-to-water, blah blah blah. Shooting for approximately 500 hp and 225 mph in the standing mile this year.

I'm quite sure I don't have any pics, but I'll take some.

The Tempurpedic mattress will most likely have an aroma to it for quite a while after purchase. Very chemical-ly/industrial. Anyone else notice that?

My house is similar to yours. It's on 3 acres in the country with woods and lakes all around. The garage holds my XLT Suburban, a Town Car, two hotrods, 3 motorcycles, a motorcycle lift, tools, etc. There is an automotive lift on the left side. Just off the garage is a kitchen, bathroom, shower, laundry, living room and the door to the backyard/pool area. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms, another bath, huge living room with fireplace, kitchen, laundry and deck. I'm single, so it's just the rottweiler and me. It is perfect. I can hop on the dirt bike and go trail riding, hunt, ride the Hayabusa through the country roads, fish. It rocks. You will love that arrangement.

Anyone who would picket at the funeral of a 9 year-old girl is a waste of human life.

After reading the entire thread, I noticed that you went with the engine parts as opposed to the blower. How do you like the heads? Are those the Canfield type?

When properly planned and executed, an event of this size cannot come together quickly. A proposal has been made to the folks in Wilmington and I am awaiting a response. Got-Busa? and I have run events like these and we both love them. I watched a man go 278.6 mph on a motorcycle at the last event. -
Here is the '31 hotrod... Photobucket decided to freak out on me. I'll post a pic of the '28 hotrod when I can. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s178/vettestuhhail/aaa.jpg

I don't really remember. I was in the left lane on a license renewal run (solo pass). I got out of the groove a bit so I let out of it. I hit it again when it settled down. It got up on the wheelie bars and went to the right hard. I hit the wall at about 130mph at about 660ft. I crawled out, they cut my firesuit off, taped my head to a board and started an IV right there under the timing board. Not one of my better nights. lol

Oh yeah, I also had a Corvette a lot like yours...Mine was a 1994 (yours appears to be a 95-96 (unless you changed out the side panels like I wanted to do. lol), LT-1, 6-speed with a shot of juice. 12.00@119 Thanks for the kind words.

Got-Busa? started a thread on here a while back that asked if anyone would be interested in a standing mile race in Wilmington, Ohio at the Air Park. I am trying to make that race happen. I'd like to see that thread and gauge interest.

I got the 106mm moniker because I bought Lee Howie's turbo car (red Corvette) a while back. I hit a wall while running at National Trail in it, owned it for a few more years, then got rid of it. I was into bikes as a kid and now I'm back into them. Some of the cooler stuff over the years: 1973 Stingray, 555, glide, 9.16@151 1968 Camaro 355, small blower, 11.47@121 1968 Corvette convertible, 427, 4-speed, stock. Currently have two hotrods (1928 and 1931 Model A roadsters). The Hayabusa made 322hp on the dyno last time. Everything I've raced has been street legal and street driven. Sorry the original post was so short. Hope this clears things up a bit. http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s178/vettestuhhail/200mph.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s178/vettestuhhail/EveryPictureOnMyOldComputer970.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s178/vettestuhhail/CorvetteEdgewater.jpg

Hey there, everybody. The name is Sean. I have a turbo Hayabusa.
