You're not looking in the right places.
or grandprixforums.net.
I would use the trans/motor from the GTP and just drop it in the Impala. If you use the GTP trans you'll need to make your own axles (inners from the Impala and the outers from the GTP (different splines).
You could use the trans from the Impala but you'll need a different flywheel and/or torque converter.
Everything else will drop in. I believe the only other thing you would need is a MAP extension harness that will go from the front of the motor to the back (or make your own).
I was hoping you'd chime in on this thread. Good info.
Looks like I'll be using the Impala harness, the GTP harness is all cut up. I plan to use the ecu from the GTP if it'll work, if not I'd heard the Regal GS tune will work on an Impala ecu. I plan to use the GTP trans since it has lower mileage and is a bit stronger than the N/A trans from what I hear. As for the axles I have the inners from the GTP so I'll make a set no big deal.

Ok.. I picked up a 2003 Impala dirt cheap that needed a motor, I initially had the intention of tossing a new motor in and reselling or potentially keeping it and selling my current daily. A great deal on a full 01 gtp dropout fell into my lap, so I'll be mating the two together. Not sure how it will go as far as ecu or tuning, differences between the transmissions, etc but I guess I'll be figuring that out as I go since I can't seem to find much information on the matter. I'll post progress pics as I go and I'll outline any problems I encounter along the way. Stay tuned..

I havent been around so I dont know the answer, I've seen facebook groups explode in popularity on my hiatus. I think the slow traffic here is probably due to that although i was super surprised when I came back to a lack of activity.

Other than the huge grille, I like it. I hope they sell well, im getting tired of seeing ls motors stuffed in rx7s and 240s

So what have you been doing since you've not been on here?
I spent a lot of time making changes in my personal life to ensure i don't end up in the same position. Now most of my time goes between work and Daddy time. When I'm not doing either of those I'm always tinkering with something.
Yes on all accounts.First impressions are difficult to overcome, but AJ is cool.
Thanks for the kind words.

What about the regal t? They're quick out of the box, can be had well within your budget and definitely could qualify as a "sleeper"

Nothing. In other news, I really like watching How I met your Mother. I think I'm going to get the names and faces of the cast tattooed on my chest.

our manager always tells the "engine light" customer that it is not a diagnosis, just that we can read the code and print that out. If they want an official diagnosis then they would have to take it to a shop, or dealer.
What's the diagnosis on your Mountain Dew tattoo?

Ok so my crankshaft has come up missing along with a few other parts of mine. I really need a good 7 bolt crankshaft and oil pump to get my talon running. Bear in mind I was just robbed, now in the process of moving so I don't have a whole lot to spend. That being said I need to get my talon running so let me know if you've got any of the listed parts.
Thanks,
Aj

I agreed to the weather statement. And yes I work for an autoparts retailer, but we don't remove stickers nor have I ever had to. And I was hired because I applied when they needed people. In the interview they asked me to name the parts of the different systems, i.e. brakes, fuel, ignition. I'm always asking for others opinions and advice when customers ask about something I don't know. If any of you know nick mcclintock ask him, we work together. I am learning a little as I go but I'm a hands on learner.
SMH.

I'm at the part where I need to wire the adapter to the plug from the new head unit, not sure what I am doing
did you buy one of these? http://www.ebay.com/itm/CAR-STEREO-RADIO-KIT-DASH-INSTALLATION-MOUNTING-TRIM-BEZEL-W-WIRING-HARNESS-/360484880527?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2000%7CModel%3AMustang&hash=item53ee92c08f&vxp=mtr
with the plug n play harness adapters, it's easy. just match up the colors with your car aftermarket stereo's harness and the pnp harness. crimp or tape it up and plug it in, it's that easy. I'd offer to help out but I've been in the middle of a transmission job, I've got a motor rebuild after that. If you need anything else though, you're welcome to pm me and I'll walk you through it.

U keep trying to make your point across on something? I'm confused. Is your panties soaking wet because you have something to say? Step up then. How you about to claim I can't drive when you or no one you know ever raced me? Is it because I never went to the drag strip with my drag tire/rims on? I have no care for the 1/4.. I have a street car that I refuse to give up ride quality for a fast slip. Someday when you have a street car fast enough.. You'll understand
Drenched.
IS U BLEDIN FROM DA MAOUF?
There, I said it.
Need some opinions
