  1. What about a GM Ecotec? There are bolt-on cars putting out 450-500 HP with the stock fuel system (the 2.0L DI engines). The high powered cars are building 2.4L blocks and adding a secondary fuel rail (port injection + direct injection).

A 4G63 might be cheaper to build due to all the used parts out there, but then again the Ecotec's been around for a long time as well, so blocks, heads, etc. should be easy to pick up at a junkyard.

Ecotec has actually been the fastest in the quarter, followed up 2nd by the old school VW guys, and 3rd was the 4g63. The problem is a RWD transmission. That is also what gets the 4g63s price up there. They do have viable RWD adapters, but the cost adds up quick. It just depends how much and how far people want to go into it. By the time you buy all the adapters, custom flywheels/converters you could have a junkyard 2j or LS engine going faster for way less.

  2. I decided to put in my input but most can guess, zo6 without a doubt. Ya the gtr is nice do not get me wrong but to me it just does not get the attention that a zo6 will get from your average people. For example when I was at work the other day and in the company truck with some co-workers a gtr was pulling up and my foreman said what is this hotwheels pos and I had to laugh and explain what it was to him but everytime we see a zo6 on the road he is like dammmnnnn that car is BAD. The only skyline I would buy would be an r33 or r34 nismo tuned car, cause those cars are raw and right hand drive would be so cool. The new ones just do not do it for me I hate to say.

You're right on. The r33/r34's were unreal. Another option would be to buy a fast street car for 10-15k and save the rest or take the extra money and invest into what got you successful.

  3. You may want to check into having someone move all of your stuff for you. I know a few people that saved money doing that than a u-haul. The problem with U-haul is the charge per mile. It adds up fast. We sold everything and jumped on a plane here. Saved us cash shipping and gave us extra money when we got here as a back up.
  4. If you need help finding shelters and police stations let me know, some of my family is in the capital city also. Im lucky enough to get emails thru. Where did the kid do his tennis thing at? pm me

I just got word today there are fine. From what I was told Tokyo is pretty much back to normal. Everyone is worried about the reactors though.

  5. They live in between fashion district and Jingu(the massive sporting complex) in Tokyo. I am more worried about the kid and mom. The kid travels all over for tennis practice throughout Tokyo and all over Japan playing tournaments. They could have been anywhere when it hit. I coached the kid for 7 years. Needless to say I became good friends with them. The dad would have been fine getting stuck at work. He would just pass his time drinking at a bar.
  6. Cool. That makes sense. I honestly do feel bad for the guys at autozone near my place. They have a line of 4 people and the phones are ringing off the hook. If they miss a call because they are taking care of customers, they get garbage from corporate.
