  1. greg your talking most likely about broke down 1st gen 350z that have a weaker 6 speed and tater rods from the factory. high mileage 1st gen vq35's leak as much oil as supra 7ms bone stock. A 1st gen g35 coupe or 350z and swapped in 2nd gen engine with a cam lock will make it easier since they engine have high port flow, better rods, filled light weight valves, and can still receive a cam lock for the budget aftermarket ecus can that can work with ease.

the nissan 350z game isnt cheap as it seams let alone diving into suspension options. the drift tax is real.

  2. 2wd blazers, esp blazer extremes are actually decent handlers. There are a few people building handling cars out of them.

    The budget setup is:

    - 245 front 275 rear staggered tire combo on 18" wheel

    - larger sway bars (stock is 33mm F, 23mm rear),

    - G body, Camaro, or C5 corvette brake upgrade (as budget allows - 98+ blazers came with 2 piston calipers that clear 17" wheels if you want to be really cheap but you need the knuckle)

    - Stiffer lowering springs

    - new bushings in the suspension

    - Battery relocation

The "I have money to spend" setup is:

    - aftermarket sway bars from belltech

    - 255 front 295 rear on custom offset rims

    - wilwood brake kit with rear disc conversion (if your blazer doesn't have it already)

    - Coil-overs with 4 link conversion (Thorbros, Johnny law, Code 504, etc...)

    - LSD in the rear end

    - Poly bushings

    - corner balance the truck (S10's understeer because of nose heavy weight dist- the closer you get to 50/50 the better they handle)

On power tour this year I saw quite a few LS swapped pro-touring S10s, even a 95+ 4 door with a T56 that looked completely stock from the outside, and a really clean S10 extreme pickup that could handle a curve.

FWIW people have been using the s10 chassis under street rods and older pickups for years. people have even built things like cobras and other kit cars on top of the chassis because it is really good and cheap.

    ^ this.

theres also the awd swapped s10's that have alot of factory options for replacement parts.

2). ford ranger. exploder rear end bolts (I think) and can easily engine swap for days

3). miata with older common block dodge 2.2 with neon head or dsm 2.4 engine, solstice trans, and chinese whirly boi. sucks that now most the junkyards close to big cities have scrapped all the 2.2/2.5 blocks.

4). celica gts convertible 80s convertible. alot of nissan 240 parts can fit on the suspension and since it's w58 based that means there are 2rz/3rz and 2jz options.

  3. A better way to respect Mallard's dad would be to stop parroting this lie that only overweight and unhealthy people are dying. Tell everyone you know who's anti-vax about this guy you know whose dad was totally healthy and died anyway. And then encourage them to get the vaccine even if they're also healthy, so they don't suffer the same fate.

hory fucking christ your a tater. i have said multiple times again and again folks who get the vaccine are welcome too. 0 shit talking to them. even left mallards post alone to pay respect to his family. you just couldnt.

    directly from the cdc interwebs:

"Hospitalized adults with preexisting health conditions were almost 3 times more likely to be diagnosed with VTE than hospitalized adults without any of these conditions. The preexisting conditions included AIDS, anemia, arthritis, congestive heart failure, clotting disorders, high blood pressure, cancers, disorders of the brain, spinal cord or nerves, obesity, paralysis, disorders affecting blood flow in the lungs, kidney failure, and weight loss."

just in case heres the link:

    even this:

    https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/need-extra-precautions/people-with-medical-conditions.html

guess how 3/4 of those issues happen. personal self choice. shit happens in life and were all dealt crap cards at one point or another. some more than others.

  4. want to know how I save on hospital money... not going and being healthy. i spend the time doing that. folks who spend the time investing in there health daily, save your insurance cost and reduce covid cost. should talk to those whos an easy 50 pounds plus over weight and lecture them about impact to others covid or not.
  5. Why is it you guys always focus on the death number and ignore the fact that that many who have covid have lingering injuries and side effects? Is it because it doesn't have a tidy number? It's looking like it's significantly larger than the death toll.

in 2020, roughly 378,000 people died from covid. This made it the 3rd most common cause of health related death behind heart disease and cancer. By contrast, preventable deaths in the US usually rank 3rd at 179,000. yeah it's a lot of people, even though the percentages don't seem to indicate it, doesn't mean people shouldn't do anything. in 1967, the year before seat belts were required by federal law, the death rate for an automobile accident was 25.53 per 100,000 people in 2018 it was 11.18 per 100,000 people. That's a huge decrease. We went from roughly 50K deaths per year to 30K deaths per year because of seat belts, airbags, advancements in engineering, etc.. and that's not taking into account the population grew by 200% between 1960 and 2018. doing stuff decreases the death toll, but you need to get people on board instead of having them acting like a bunch of selfish assholes.

on the flip side... why the biguns always ignore there cost to others for insurance premiums and there group is most likely to pass away or be hospitalized which increases my cost for insurance? now all of a sudden the folks who spent 0 time in the last 5-20 years worrying about there health and want to lecture others about health. now whos selfish.

  6. never did i say that no one should take the vaccine. people are welcome to do as they please with there own health as they see fit. my wife got the vaccine and more power to her.

we're talking about a 99.983% survival rate in our country overall without considering any health issues. I and kiddos are in the 99.999 group. it's all one big game of fuck around and find out. I'll take my chances how I see fit and you're welcome to do the same.

Keep in mind again that parks were shut down for people to walk around in nature/exercise while big box retailers whos shoppers where in close distance to other shoppers were packed inside. my jerb is considered essential and we do nothing more than make soda. yes soda. covid logic. cant complain too much because i made bank since so few were willing to come to work.

  7. I agree not going to lie. that was for greg.

well kerry vaccinations have drastically gone up in our country and the problem isnt being solved clearly. even countries with high vaccination rates are still suffering from out breaks at an increased rate. covid likely has become the new stronger version of the flu which isn't set in stone. if it was so serious then if parks recreations in the open air are shut down then so should in store purchases with big box retailers.

when you work in the warehouse industry, you see what big business' are able to get away with and the risk they put there employees in for there profit. most are minorities. there is no w@h option.

  8. flip side.... family member who's had both shots, double masked all the time, and tested positive for covid. couldn't pass a molecular test to travel to hawaii and instead traveled down south since the rules allowed it. the covid shots don't stop transmission even with close family and they still travel due to this belief that im good due to getting multiple shots all the while lecturing others even in a high risk age group.
  9. I have no clue. there was a group of moms in our school district that took that approach and copied/pasted the same email to the schools they were at. my wife is karen enough to be in contact with them, but not full karen to follow along. lol.
  10. I agree regarding the religious exemption route. we could have taken that route for my girls at school for mask, but didn't. the nursing field has had a shortage for 10-20 years. theres also the option of nurses to go into private care in home which typically is companies under 100 or all under the table tbh. i've known a few folks who started there own long term care business' by converting a house, hiring a few recent college grads, cater food in, and profit.
  11. My wife works pretty closely with the ER and ICU at her hospital (its one of the big 3 here in Columbus). Last week they had nearly 40 patients in the ER, some had been there for more than 24 hrs waiting on a room. They have a call list of patients at home waiting to come in as well.

The hospital has beds but not enough staff to operate all of them. (Many left to travel to areas with even higher covid cases offering $8k week) Her location is averaging around 40 covid patients. This puts them over 100% capacity. They didn't release the number of vax'd vs non vax'd but if you look at the available stats lets say its 30 non vax'd and 10 vax'd. Id even guess the number is probably 35 and 5.

Im just curious if people that are vaccine hesitant/ against it/ scared/ unsure whatever the case may be, understand that there is only so much medical care to go around. Its not an unlimited supply. If you get in an accident, have an emergency you may not be able to get the care you need in a timely manner. Obviously they attempt to categorize the urgency but its not an ideal circumstance. A few states are now rationing care based on survival chances.

My wife works in the Cath lab, they did a heart STEMI's last week (bad heart attack), typically this requires 24hr ICU recovery to make sure the patient is stable and healthy after the procedure. The ICU declined this patient to the ICU because they have patients in more dire need. So if something pops up in this patients, he's not really where he needs to be.

Im not here to soap box, just share stories of things many people arent aware of in regards to how a handful bad cases of Covid affects more than just those people who choose to just think of it as a flu bug. Getting a vax'd not only drastically improves your chances of staying out of the hospital and or dying, but it might just keep medical care available to you or someone else that needs it regardless whether its covid related or not.

thanks for the information. it's likely going to get worse with more hospitals firing nurses for not getting the shot unfortunately. regardless of vax or not, majority continues to be over weight and/or pre-existing conditions.

  12. if it takes an online discussion for people to imagine beating your head on a wall or is exhausting... it is what it is. regardless what you decide to do or not do with your own health more power to you. land of the free.
  13. greg. you seem like a nice enough guy outside political threads and has some cool interest. why get your fappies being a twat to others in the political threads?

green bastard isnt being disrepectful and is being polite when responding. I've met him in person considering buying his old talon and he's a good dude.

  14. car-part.com and I wish I could remember the name of the company that we got our lower milage transmission from that had a warranty for our old neon. I'm guessing 1k for engine and another 1k for install at most.

The other option is for him to move out to the rural area to save drive time, but there goes likely charging options for ev vehicle.
