  1. If I could find the costume I'd go as a priest again, complete with a bloody crotch and small hand prints around my waist.
  2. Once you factor in population density, available health care for differing social strata, etc. it becomes strange that we haven't had one yet honestly. So far it doesn't look like the polio outbreak is in a heavily populated area, so that will be a largely miniscule issue. However, if the pandemic is anything like the Spanish Influenza outbreak or bubonic plague, things will get a bit tedious what with having to constantly bury bodies and such.
  3. Oh look, China now has a polio outbreak. Got carried over from Pakistan IIRC, the BBC mentioned it on their news site.
  4. http://singularityhub.com/2011/09/06/hold-world-population-to-reach-7-billion-this-month/ I looked about and didn't see this posted at all. Just thought you guys might be interested. Thoughts? Opinions?
  5. My old setup with a sidepipe out from under the door sounded really good up top, just sounded like complete ass at idle and puttering about town. I think with my cams now it'd sound pretty good. There's a lot of great exhaust sounds though, and I know mine would sound downright sexual with a better built engine and a full titanium exhaust with motorcycle canisters. Some Youtube fodder for you (too lazy to embed, look it up): 4 rotor rotary Hakosuka Skyline GT-R in full race spec (the S20 tightens my jeans) V10 and V12 formula 1 engines The BRM V16 (Unnnnnnf) N2 AE86 with sidepipe There's a few others I just can't think of them atm.
  6. Burnt isn't too bad. It smells.... different, I can't put my finger on what it is. But yeah, not too bad burned, raw is something my brain can't process.
  7. I was helping Biggu drain his tank and I was gagging due to the smell. Only thing that got it out of my nose was a cigarette. He'll attest, he loves the smell, but it makes me sick. Then again I think nothing beats the slight gasoline smell of Webers (and I'm not running enough compression to warrant the switch). Speaking of which, Biggu, get a jerry can and get this crap out of my fuel tank! :lolguy: NTHER: E85 is extremely hydroscopic, it attracts water like stock SRT-4s attract broskis. There are filters available, but most just run the fuel and call it a day, you just have to be careful that too much water isn't in your fuel system otherwise you'll have loads of problems with injectors and the like.
  8. Since you have a newer vehicle I wouldn't worry about the cold cranking amps as much. Even with all the various components of EFI consuming juice you shouldn't need more than 200-250 amps, most modern starters are planetary gear reduction type and draw around 100 amps, leaving quite a lot of head room for additional electronics. What I'd be looking into is the amp/hr charge of your battery. The higher the better in this case (I can't say much, I've got a 6 amp/hr battery :dumb:, but it weighs 6.3 pounds and will start the car every day).
  9. Cheaper than carbon fiber or building my engine. :lolguy:
  10. No, just aiming for light weight for better power to weight ratio in my POS. It doesn't help that I've got an insane metabolism at times to boot.
  11. Unbelievably good for such a short film.
  12. I think I've lost a bunch of weight, I'm honestly not too sure. Clothes are hanging on me a lot more loosely than before, so I'm guessing I'm around 140 or so. Hell if this keeps up I'll be at 135 in no time.
  13. I'm waking up early to make sure my carbs are happy on e85, they should be fine. See you guys in the a.m. I hope!
  14. You're just looking for a timing belt tensioner right? Here's the OEM part #, call up the Toyota dealer on Scarborough and they'll have it in by tomorrow: 13505-16020 If its just the pin that's bent and not anything else you can save a fair amount of dosh and just get that instead: 90249‑06006 All parts are listed here for part #s and pricing (not current but close): http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_1986_TOYOTA_COROLLA_AE86L-ECMQFK_1302.html Send me a text if its the other tensioner (ps/ac), I've got one laying around in my garage in perfect shape; my memory is shot since I had to put my dog down yesterday and drive her home to Cincinnati for burial. EDIT: either that or go to a JY and find a Prizm gsi, all it is is a redblock 4ag, grab tensioner, spend a tenner, roll hard.
  15. So far the response to this meet hasn't even been lukewarm, its been colder than an Eskimos ass in the winter. Looks like it may only be me and Farkas, so it'll be a study in how to build a car and how to be a complete jackass and ruin a chassis.
