  1. If I could find the costume I'd go as a priest again, complete with a bloody crotch and small hand prints around my waist.
  2. Once you factor in population density, available health care for differing social strata, etc. it becomes strange that we haven't had one yet honestly. So far it doesn't look like the polio outbreak is in a heavily populated area, so that will be a largely miniscule issue. However, if the pandemic is anything like the Spanish Influenza outbreak or bubonic plague, things will get a bit tedious what with having to constantly bury bodies and such.
  3. Oh look, China now has a polio outbreak. Got carried over from Pakistan IIRC, the BBC mentioned it on their news site.
  4. http://singularityhub.com/2011/09/06/hold-world-population-to-reach-7-billion-this-month/ I looked about and didn't see this posted at all. Just thought you guys might be interested. Thoughts? Opinions?
  5. My old setup with a sidepipe out from under the door sounded really good up top, just sounded like complete ass at idle and puttering about town. I think with my cams now it'd sound pretty good. There's a lot of great exhaust sounds though, and I know mine would sound downright sexual with a better built engine and a full titanium exhaust with motorcycle canisters. Some Youtube fodder for you (too lazy to embed, look it up): 4 rotor rotary Hakosuka Skyline GT-R in full race spec (the S20 tightens my jeans) V10 and V12 formula 1 engines The BRM V16 (Unnnnnnf) N2 AE86 with sidepipe There's a few others I just can't think of them atm.
  6. Burnt isn't too bad. It smells.... different, I can't put my finger on what it is. But yeah, not too bad burned, raw is something my brain can't process.
  7. I was helping Biggu drain his tank and I was gagging due to the smell. Only thing that got it out of my nose was a cigarette. He'll attest, he loves the smell, but it makes me sick. Then again I think nothing beats the slight gasoline smell of Webers (and I'm not running enough compression to warrant the switch). Speaking of which, Biggu, get a jerry can and get this crap out of my fuel tank! :lolguy: NTHER: E85 is extremely hydroscopic, it attracts water like stock SRT-4s attract broskis. There are filters available, but most just run the fuel and call it a day, you just have to be careful that too much water isn't in your fuel system otherwise you'll have loads of problems with injectors and the like.
  8. Since you have a newer vehicle I wouldn't worry about the cold cranking amps as much. Even with all the various components of EFI consuming juice you shouldn't need more than 200-250 amps, most modern starters are planetary gear reduction type and draw around 100 amps, leaving quite a lot of head room for additional electronics. What I'd be looking into is the amp/hr charge of your battery. The higher the better in this case (I can't say much, I've got a 6 amp/hr battery :dumb:, but it weighs 6.3 pounds and will start the car every day).
  9. Cheaper than carbon fiber or building my engine. :lolguy:
  10. No, just aiming for light weight for better power to weight ratio in my POS. It doesn't help that I've got an insane metabolism at times to boot.
  11. Unbelievably good for such a short film.
  12. I think I've lost a bunch of weight, I'm honestly not too sure. Clothes are hanging on me a lot more loosely than before, so I'm guessing I'm around 140 or so. Hell if this keeps up I'll be at 135 in no time.
  13. I'm waking up early to make sure my carbs are happy on e85, they should be fine. See you guys in the a.m. I hope!
  14. You're just looking for a timing belt tensioner right? Here's the OEM part #, call up the Toyota dealer on Scarborough and they'll have it in by tomorrow: 13505-16020 If its just the pin that's bent and not anything else you can save a fair amount of dosh and just get that instead: 90249‑06006 All parts are listed here for part #s and pricing (not current but close): http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_U_1986_TOYOTA_COROLLA_AE86L-ECMQFK_1302.html Send me a text if its the other tensioner (ps/ac), I've got one laying around in my garage in perfect shape; my memory is shot since I had to put my dog down yesterday and drive her home to Cincinnati for burial. EDIT: either that or go to a JY and find a Prizm gsi, all it is is a redblock 4ag, grab tensioner, spend a tenner, roll hard.
  15. So far the response to this meet hasn't even been lukewarm, its been colder than an Eskimos ass in the winter. Looks like it may only be me and Farkas, so it'll be a study in how to build a car and how to be a complete jackass and ruin a chassis.
  16. Good! We need to bring back the Weber's to the world! Especially since D may be abandoning them. I'm putting in the E85 Wednesday I believe, I'll send you a text as to whether or not I'm successful. If I am, we're going 44 degrees timing advance :megusta: I'll be in the opposite camp for sure :dumb: Too overdone and the results aren't worth it. For the same 5-7k that you'd spend on that you could do a 1uz, make loads more power, and only weigh 35 pounds more than the stock 4age. There's also a decent aftermarket for the engine. Either that or spend the 7k wisely and make a very very nice 4age, don't need a ton of power for these cars really, they're light enough to get out of their own way nicely with even 140 hp, much less 200+
  17. A friend of mine applied for his, its the Special Olympics plate background with "DERP". I laughed hard when he showed it to me.
  18. Seeing as this upcoming Saturday is the semi-official AE86 day worldwide, I wanted to see if any nearby owners wanted to meet up, hang out, talk about our shitboxes, and in general have a good time. The enthusiasm for this car is very spread out in the mid-west, with very few owners being near one another (3 or 4 in Cincy, 1 or 2 in Toledo, a handful in Indiana, 4 in Cbus, 2 or 3 in Cleveland, etc.), so I thought a meet was in order. This will be a very polite piggy-backing of the Saturday Cup o' Joe meet, so Saturday at 8 am (maybe 9 since it is a weekend and we all love sleep) at the Cup o' Joe in the Lennox Town Center. What we will have: - Fellow enthusiasts, others interested in the model, and lots of knowledge between fellow gearheads - Coffee available for those who need a bit of a kick in the morning (or for those who are like me there's a gas station down the street with smokes and Dew, the breakfast of champions) - Possibly a tow truck standing by due to the famously reliable nature of our cars :dumb: What will we not have: - Excessive revving or racing in front of, or in, the lot - Serious haterade being served piping hot - Bigotry or being a dick What do you guys think? And for those of you who started the Cup o' Joe meet, would this be acceptable? Think of it as your own personal clown circus, complete with funny cars and people with absolutely zero common sense.
  19. Tried to make her go to rehab, but she diiiiiiied aaaaaaat hooooome.
  20. I used to play, can't remember the server. Out of my group of friends I was the fastest to have my name banned (lvl. 27, name was Phallusfrkids). Stopped at level 54 because I'd rather be attempting to get laid than play a drama ridden game. I was rocking an undead SP with lots of good gear too, damn druids would mess up my day though.
  21. Yep, or that magical high paying job they have gets sent overseas and they're "downsized". I'm still dying to get a Hilliard/Polaris trophy wife's car, that'll make my month to watch her cry as I swipe her SUV.
  22. You'd be surprised how often they aren't paid. Weirdest one was a Oldsmobile though. Tow driver was nearly shot over it.
  23. Can't access The Quarry, no entry codes and the gates are usually down. I'm just waiting for someone to mess up the gates though, then its plate scanning time, I'm sure some of them haven't paid their car bill :gabe:
  24. I gave you guys something better than pics. I gave you a location where your chloroform and rag would net optimal results. Quit bitching.
  25. Didn't have a chance to grab my camera and shoot, would've been kicked from the lot if I had stopped. I'll swing through tomorrow morning with it primed and ready. Mental imagery for you guys: 2 brunettes, early 20s, asses you could bounce quarters off of, terry cloth running shorts, just started their jogging run. Another brunette, slim, about 5'10", walking her dog, green shirt blue short shorts (terry cloth runners), tanned, legs about a mile long and shaped like they gave even God a boner.
