Honda has stopped production this week due to lack of parts. We still are not back at full capacity even still. We use to build 2000 cars a day in my building and now we are lucky to build 1200. It will be years before supply catches back up. Talked to my brother today who is a Germain Subaru salesman and he has 3 new cars on the lot. 3.
Car was delivered with defects, wrong charging adapters than originally told. They use dog shit wifi with 4 foot range and they require wifi for updates unless you call the supreme rulers and they push updates through the 4g.
As you said the superchargers and their battery management is second to none.
Old lady got hers in August. 14k on it now. Shit company. Awful customer service. Pretty cool car. Wish the Mach E was out before we ordered it. She will probably never go back to a ICE car.
To my knowledge cheap EVs like the leaf and those hybrid plug ins have non managed batteries that only last a few years. They degrade at an incredible pace. All their benefit is for not when you have to foot the bill for a new battery every 6 years and have all that non recyclable waste to deal with. I think the life cycle of the cars should be taken into account. There is a happy medium of long lasting premium EVs for rich soccer moms and fuel efficient shit box ICE cars for the hillbilly’s in boons.
I honestly can’t wait for an autonomous EV trailer that can take my racecar to the track for me and I can just fly. Would be cool to send it out Wednesday and fly to Laguna seca for a weekend track day without the tow or burning PTO.
“The need” is “your” need. Which everyone agrees driving 100 miles a day is dumb waste of time.
Here’s a link to Home Depot for about everything you need to add 220v 30amp outlet somewhere for less than $300. I could have it done in an afternoon. The Tesla included charger will plug right in. It’s perfect for 97% of America’s commuters who drive normal people distances. We have 100amp service and electric range. It all runs just fine. Car only pulls 24amps.

We got our Model Y in August last year and just hit 11k miles. Done a couple road trips to SC and ATL with no issues.
My level 2 charger cost me nothing. 220v 30amp socket in the garage already. Tesla plugs right in with the included adapter. Electric is not for everyone but I’m baffled by all this misinformation and fear.
“Californians lack life planning and purchase electric car without thought of charging it”
Did y’all even read the article? 70% who switched back to ICE didn’t have access to level 2 or better chargers. That’s just poor decision making.
Not once towing between 5000-7000 did I feel like my 2.7 was the limiting factor. Having a trailer over 1.5 times the weight of the truck is what makes me nervous.
Friend is a Crypto miner and has been going to micro center few days a week for a while now. He said people are getting in line earlier and earlier. 2-3 hours early now. He hasn’t seen a 3080 or 3090 in the last 2 weeks. 3070,3060ti,3060 only.
