  1. Is there an anti-viagra pill?

Paxil, Prozac, Zoloft or Depo-Provera for the truly hardcore :)

I am in that place where your girlfriend would like you to go. Currently have a 30 yr old then 10, 8, and 6. What's that Patsy Cline song? "Crazy....."

    Good luck.

  2. First test of my "tint letter" today. I've been 20% all the way around and 50% on the front glass for about three years now.

Pulled over by a local officer staking out the stop sign in my neighborhood whose only reason for stopping me was that my tint looked too dark. Handed him my license and POI and I told him that was likely the case and the tint meter confirmed I was 19% on the side driver's window.

I handed him the letter from my Optometrist and while he looked at it, I dug out my copy of the ORC with the applicable section.

He handed me back everything except the license, went back to his cruiser for a couple minutes and came back to say he gets his glasses from the same doc and have a nice day :)

P.S. He subsequently double checked my front plate. If you are doing the dark tint, important safety tip: Have the rest of your vehicle up to code.

  3. Ok, so I get why people would be "up in arms" about this since if it passed, it would open up other cities to make their own gun laws, however... I'd like to know why you guys are so upset about it. I gotta say, I can't see the problem in any of these legislative "suggestions" myself.

The legislation would restrict gun owners from leaving firearms in a place accessible to minors; - Already illegal. It's called criminal negligence or child endangerment. Why do we need another law? (P.S. Say, my gun safe is accessible to my 16 year old son who has his own firearms in there - OMG I'm a felon!)

create a registry in the city of Cleveland that would compel convicted gun offenders to register with police once a year for four years - and what is the purpose of that and who would be covered as a convicted gun offender? If I got a 'trespass' conviction for bringing my gun into a store where they had posted but I didn't see, would I be 'on the list'?

limit gun purchases to one firearm per person per 90 days - If this is intended to address straw purchases then that's best left to the state level because doing it locally has zero effect. I think the purpose is just to irritate and drive down the profits of gun dealers locally.

The new ordinances might also incorporate past laws including: Requiring school officials to notify police when a prohibited weapon is found on school property - Every school I know already does this. Every school. Why do we need a 'consolidated' law? Address in school board policy.

allowing people to voluntarily surrender guns to police - As if the police would say, "Nope, I won't let you give me that". Please. Address in departmental policy.

Banning the sale and manufacture of gun replicas. -Fuck you airsoft guys, BB gun shooters, replica collectors, etc. Again, what's the point?

Speaking of uneducated voters, I find many extreme gun advocates, (for lack of a better word as I don't want to include all gun advocates), are just as quick to jump on a bandwagon whether it makes logical sense or not.

None of this makes logical sense. It's just the City of Cleveland trying to get the proverbial camel's nose under the tent. The liberals are all butthurt over preemption not allowing them to create a patchwork of laws criminalizing the behavior of the average gun owner unfortunate enough to reside in or travel through their kingdoms.

  4. that dude has the most flamboyant hand gestures I've ever seen

He's like, "I don't ever want to come across like a commercial for anybody..." I'm thinking - dude you should be selling OxyClean and ShamWows.

  5. Having one of these shipped to Gun Envy this week.

Was thinking with going with one of the better quality micro dot optics (Aimpoint, etc.) but then the reviewer in this piece reports having good luck with some of the more midrange price offerings. Thoughts?

  6. I'm under the impression that all the events use the same method for determining official speed. They time your pass through a short trap at the end of the mile course. I'm no expert in this, so if someone knows different, feel free to pipe up. I'm told that the timing equipment costs upwards of twenty large, and I know it calculates speed to a ten thousandth of a mph.

Yup. Last 132 feet. Have a similar trap at mid course to get your speed there too.

It's not as easy as it looks, is it? Especially trying to stay within a few miles per hour of a given speed. For me it was pretty easy doing the required 135 and 150 passes. On the 175 pass I thought I was going too fast, then realized I was going too slow and nailed it again coming into the last few hundred feet of the traps to get it 'just right'. Whew. 200 was similar but I thought I was too fast (based on the shift light) and let up just a tad early.

Looking forward to not having to mess with that any more this year. Just go stand on it and see how fast it really goes :) (I guess if I bust though 250 I'd just take my ass chewing with good grace - LOL)

Congrats on your two records! :fuckyeah:

  7. We had a really nice turnout considering the biblical flood we had to contend with for most of the day. In fact, if it had been sunny I think we'd have been out of space at PPC for sure and it would have been tight at Bosscars. Something to consider for next time.

I think the 'park and talk' for 2 1/2 hours, 1 hour cruise, followed by the 'lunch and talk' for another couple hours format worked pretty well.

Let me know if you guys have any feedback. Thanks!

    - Chuck

    FINAL CRUISE ROUTE

I will have a goodly number of paper maps at Brady's in the morning.

  9. This was on the same truck as some of our cars. Just thought I would share. Not a bad look.

Needs more racecar stuff on it.

  10. I have been there a couple times for an open house. Amazing cars in that shop and they some really good work. Might have to come and check it out again.

Excited to see the progress of this car. Not messing around.

Yeah, doing a fair bit to the suspension and driveline obviously. Should still look stock outside and even the interior unless you're an expert (The shifter will be subtly different for the faceplated TKO600 and I'm putting in a RetroSound2 audio head unit into the spot where the broken Philco AM radio is now, putting in modern 3 point belts but using stock style hardware, switching to a Shelby center console, 14" Feroce wheel, etc. - but I think nothing which will look out of place.)

After you are done we can pitch this to Streetlegaltv.com as a feature car if you like...

That would be cool. Might be worthy at that point. :)

I know I will be sorely tempted to put a set of DRs on it and take it to the track. I know also I can rely on my friends here to help me make a mature and rational decision.

  11. Does it work well? I've been looking at it, but I don't think you can control it through the AMI, can you?

I'll let you guys know when the adapter comes in. Unless Jones can speak to it in the meantime.

I'm so far behind that I just loaded my music onto an SD card last week so I can play it in the Audi. That's pretty crude too - I'm still trying to figure out if it's even possible to organize things into playlists.

  12. No bluetooth on a 2012 car :dumb:

Sorry, the phone features will connect through bluetooth. The audio features require hookup through the special Audi cable (AMS - conveniently located in the glovebox). I ordered a bluetooth adapter last week for the audio that plugs into that AMS slot.
