  1. My '8 Solstice GXP was not great ergonomically; it was cramped, window sills were too high, and uncomfortable seat position. It also needed more gear in its manual transmission (5-speed in the world of 6-speed sports cars). It had a GM Stage 2 turbo upgrade that allows for a higher boost level. Other aspects are great. The Corvette-like chassis and suspension constructions are very nice and those are the main points to me. The clamshell hood is heavy and it probably should have been made from a lighter material. I made mine to attract attention with minimal mods, yet I wanted it to have increased engine performance and suspension characteristics. I miss it sometimes and while looking for a salt car, I now include it in my search.
  2. Psst, it's "Julius" Who installed the PPF on this Accord? I don't understand those few people who tried to have PPF installed in a piecemeal way. When installed separately, the total cost skyrocketed. Julius' prices are inline with template-cut most of the cases and his own installation is custom-cut on the car (not for freelance jobs). For years I have been telling him to bump his prices by 50% and in some cases to double them.
  3. There are usually deals at the end of the year, but with the current new car shortage, the prospect of getting a killer deal at the end of this year could be non existent. Just an example,, at the end of last year, there was a $11-12k discount on '20 Chevrolet Volt when combined with Costco $1k incentive (usually $700 Costco Cash Card in the past several years). Who knows if there would be such thing at the end of this year. Also, the prices for used cars are unusually high nowadays because of the new car shortage. Selling the old tC to take advantage of the high resale value makes sense, but buying another used car doesn't. I don't know how bad Tesla cars are affected, maybe it's volume is low enough to be affected.
  4. I'd sell the Jeep to pay off the Taco. I hate my '20 Taco, but if you love yours, keep it. Also, try other used car places. Carvana, Carmax, webuyanycar.com, and try also Drive Direct and Honda Marysville (if you don't mind the drive).
  5. I wish I had the resources to participate this year
  6. I have to say that, regardless of the outcome, I'm actually impressed by your daughter. On the opposite end, my 18yo son is on his fourth car (he got his first car when he was a month and a half shy of 16th birthday) and yet he never had an accident in the short stint of his driving. At.any rate, making her pay for her mistake (monetary or otherwise) should teach her. I doubt that taking away cell phone and car for two weeks would drive the point.
  7. Broken oil pressure sensor in a C5 will cause the meter to read all the way the max regardless of engine speed. It's PITA to replace because it's located under the cowl. IMO, 40 psig at operating temperature range of roughly 180-230F and at middle engine speed range doesn't seem bad. The sluggish meter will read lower especially when the high rpm excursion is brief.

  9. This is going to be good
  10. Wearing pants to fit, I see ... Thanks! Sure
  11. Thanks. The rear wheels and tires are actually not a perfect fit. They rub in a minor way (think wear-to-fit) in multiple points. Thank you. The LWB version is more common in Central OH, both in JDM and USDM (Montero) versions. You're likely right that it may be the only SWB in Central OH.
  12. Thanks, guys. It is not diesel. It has a 3.5l V6 Otto-cycle engine.
  13. Here are two of my latest acquisitions. Obviously I have been delayed in posting these. Posted in chronological order of acquisition. 1996 Chevrolet Corvette For years, I looked for a black-on-black coupe with a manual transmission (so I can get the LT4 engine). This one has a long story and it was a one-owner located just south of Cleveland OH. The first owner is also a Corvette Forum member. The car had only 38k miles when I found it and it had many mods including cam, worked heads-intake manifold, valvetrain mods, air filter, LT headers, 3" exhaust, lightened flywheel, short shifter, 4.10 "Viper" gears, tuned PCM (with a 6800-rpm redline), etc. and yet stock BASE FE1 suspension. It came with six C5 Magnesium wheels and none of the stock ones. Once I got it home, I went through a few minor things including solving the mystery of peanuts and discovery of a small area of splintered rear spring. I salvaged Z51 springs and stabilizer bars out of an '84 but they need refurbishment. I have extra HRE wheels meant for a C6 Z06 so naturally one set found their way onto the '96. This thing drives raw, unrefined, and loud. Controls are heavy and clunky. Supposedly it has 395 whp. I love every aspect of it and it slides easily. Ok, pictures. 1994 Mitsubishi Pajero XR This is my first foray into JDM vehicles. This was found in Cleveland OH at a small motorcycle store; its owner dabbled in JDM imports before the pandemic. This one has a 3.5l V6 with DOHC and 24 valves; supposedly the fast version of Pajero in its generation (2nd), save for the Pajero Evolution. This one is the short wheel base version and it comes with fancy knick-knacks such as the climate control, height-adjustable suspension and adjustable dampers. It also comes with altimeter, inclinometer, and compass. Strangely, it doesn't have SRS airbags, ABS, and cruise control. The drivetrain features a fancy Super Select 4 system that allows on-road all wheel drive feature and a locking center differential. The rear live axle has a limited slip differential and the front is independent with an open differential. It has a manual moonroof and an automatic 4-sp transmission (with an OD-off button and a sport mode!).
  14. Try Northend Wrench on Indianola. One of the mechanics, nickname Crossle, is a CR member.
  15. I have six Magnesium wheels. Two are sized 17x8.5 and four 18x9.5. I believe I have a door reflector somewhere. I also have other wheels.
  16. I do mind for a Cars & Coffee. There is place and time for shenanigans and Cars & Coffee is not for such activities.
  17. One of my cars made it there!
  18. That is a sad news indeed. Clay, thank you for your effort through all these 13 years, hopefully it can be resurrected soon.
  19. Thanks to you! The garage door becomes a problem if the opener is mounted too low. Brent installed a jackshaft-drive opener which eliminated the common residential-style opener.
  20. Thanks, Clay. The height of ceiling depends on the height of the cars being stacked. Roughly 10' is needed, but it depends on how the ceiling is shaped.
  21. So sorry to get the news. That just sucks. I'll keep an eye out.
