  1. Not really sure where to start with this, I've been debating on even making a thread on here about it, but figured this would alleviate some questions on it if and when I get it done, and also help me remember when and what I did. I'll likely have way more pictures and videos on here as it may eventually become a copy and paste of my build thread on Supra specific boards. A little background I've had this car since I moved here in August of '12, I bought it because I needed something that was a daily, a little fun, and I wanted something RWD and unique. This is what I ended up with. To say the least it hasn't been a good daily, and it wasn't as fun as I imagined it would be. About 3 weeks ago I was driving home from work, the clutch pedal stuck to the floor, and long story short, it needed a few more parts than I was willing to wait on and spend money on. As I said, not a good daily, this was a monthly occurrence. http://i.imgur.com/HiW5UQC.jpg A picture of the engine engine bay, somewhat similar to what it looks like now. http://i.imgur.com/HKzt1XZ.jpg What I'm starting with -1JZGTE -R154 Transmission (Supposedly built by the Previous owner, I guess what I add on to it later will put it to the test.) -4.30 LSD Rear end -Stock Twins, ceramic wheeled so beyond 14-16psi they like to melt or just disintegrate, I've ran them at 18-20psi everyday for a year now. -Blitz Front mount. -HKS SSQV BOV -Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator -440cc Injectors -3" exhaust to a Blitz Nur-Spec Aside from that it's fairly stock aside from a simple 16-point fuel controller and an electronic boost controller. What I'm aiming to end up with -62mm .82 A/R Ball Bearing Billet Turbo -ProEFI 128 or AEM v2. Haven't decided. -2 Bosch 044's, with one kicking on in boost. -1200cc injectors -Brian Crower 264 cams. Allows me to retain stock valvetrain if I so choose. -3.91 LSD rear end. Maybe a 3.7x rear end. Depends on what I can find easily for a decent price. -New front mount setup. -Battery relocation for better charge pipe routing -Weight reduction here and there. It's one of the lighter Mk3's ever made weighing 3580 without me in it, and a half tank of gas. -Coilovers -Random bushings and parts that need replaced as I see fit. As far as the ProEFI and AEM v2 debate, it would make more sense for me to run ProEFI. I'm not going into details on that. Not to mention with the ProEFI 128 unit I will be able to run sequential ignition and fuel injection where the AEM unit will only allow me to run batch fire. This isn't a huge difference but it opens up the ability to run something like an LS1 coil a little easier on down the road since they do not use an ignitor like a JZ engine does stock. That adds up to less wiring, and less headache troubleshooting if something does go wrong. New ignitors alone are a few hundred dollars, plus some waiting on parts. A LQ style or LS style is in stock locally at parts stores. I'll start tearing it down and put some pictures up of some stuff.
  2. The sound is worth $1,000-ish to you? To each their own, but I'd do research to what cam is the most streetable and economical for your setup. To take advantage of the power you'll need to switch convertors which adds up. As I said though, to each their own.
  3. It's a good looking car. Underneath looked clean, the only thing I could tell showing any surface rust was the exhaust, tires look virtually brand new, interior looked to be in excellent shape, body lined up, didnt look to be leaking any fluids. It's parked in the back of the lot away from everything, so I'm not sure of someone else has already bought it or what.
  4. I drive by their on my way home from work, I'd be willing to swing by and give it a few tire kicks, and snag any pictures of anything out of order. I'm off at three today.
  5. Lock it up mods, got a truck. Thanks for the offers and PM's guys.
  6. It's a mixture of what happened, and what's about to happen :gabe: Don't want a van at all, sorry. This sounds amazing. Any change you can PM me some details and some pics?
  7. Already talked to your brother about it, seems like a good deal, but more than I can tackle since I've got one car apart already. What year? PM me pics and more info if you don't mind. I've got something I'm fairly set on now, but I wouldn't mind a back up.
  8. Looking for something, I've tried Craigslist the last week and apparently no one is motivated to sell their stuff. I'm looking for something $1500 or under just to last the winter. Along the lines of a Saturn Sl1 or Sl2, possibly a Honda Civic. Must be a manual. Also a C10 or 90's Chevy truck with a 5.7. Two different ends of the spectrum, I know, but I could use a truck something economical at this point. If you know of anything or have something, either post in here or PM me, thanks.
  9. Been playing it for two hours, reminds me of MWF1. samuel45 on XBL, should be playing a lot soon.
  10. Is this the guy who always has his hood open, blaring rap music, and has LED's to show off his stock engine bay with a fart can?
  11. Lots of info online explaining how to test relay's. Most are very simple as long as you can understand the diagram that shows the high side and low side. Running power directly to the wheel is easy, all you need is a power source and a set of test leads. Worst comes to worst yank out the battery and use that as the 12v source. A Google search brought up a fairly informative thread. http://www.passatworld.com/forums/68-b5-garage/224325-advice-blower-motor-wont-turn.html This is a good, short video explaining the basics of relay testing.
  12. Either test the relay or run power right to the blower motor itself. It looks like it only has a 2 pin connector. Hopefully it's not the blower motor resistor, I'm sure that's a pricey gizmo.
  13. Stick to wealth equality threads. No one on CR in their right mind posts those.
  14. Not sure if you still have him on ignore Ben..
  15. Ben, if you think you are in the lower-income level you need to lay off the pipe. Look at some people's incomes and see what they make compared to the bills they have to not live in a new house, not drive a car that is only a couple years old and eat ramen 6/7 days.

  17. I'm 22, and for reason's I'd rather not talk about I am unable to. I won't elaborate any further so don't waste your time. Bill, you're a cool guy, and the one time I talked to you I got a good impression, but this post was the straw that broke the camels back. I'm sorry if this offends you but you are by far the most simpleminded person I've run into in my life. If you want to call me a "lazy ass" then by all means, knock yourself out. I can bet in my short 22 years on this earth I've put more hard work into life than you'd ever be able to fathom. At 19 I was making a mortgage payment for a widowed mother and had support more mouths than just my own. You don't know my situation in the least, I take just shy of 20 credit hours so I don't accumulate unneeded and unwanted interest on the loans I take out, which obviously is going to hinder my ability to work. Let me guess. your solution is to ask the government for money so I don't have to bust my ass to make ends meet? Fuck that and fuck you. If you think I choose to work only 30 hours a week you are obviously dumber than I had originally thought. Uncle Obama made a nice little law that made sure I can't work above 30 hours a week or I become eligible for full-time benefits. So because of this, my employer has chosen to nearly double it's workforce to avoid this extra cost. That is out of my hands, I am stuck between a rock and a hard spot for work. But I'm sure such a stand up guy like yourself would have SUCH a great idea at my age it would solve all my problems, just like Obama has solved yours. You mentioned whats the line between slavery and work? So if I have to work 24/7 to make ends meet it isn't considered slavery then, right? Edit: Actually, I'm not sorry if that offends you at all.
  18. Ok. That's all I needed to know. I really doubt I qualify for shit, I don't get jack for financial aide for school, so this solidifies my thoughts on not getting any "tax credit." I'm glad your much desired system is working for you and yours, while fucking me out of the few bucks I have left at the end of the month for other productive things I'd love to put that money towards.
  19. I have no idea, and frankly I'm not counting a tax credit into a monthly price. Do you think that is affordable for someone who makes that amount, and sometimes slightly above, a week? This is a yes or no question.
  20. If its any correlation, I work 25-30 hours a week since this lovely system has been implemented I can't work my normal 40 like I used to. Maybe if I was I could afford it, but definitely not now. But according to other dems they need others like me in the pool to drive down costs for others since 20's males make the least claims according to them.
  21. Thorne, or any other dem, can you tell me how In the hell this is affordable for me? And these are the shit plans I may add. http://i.imgur.com/UyV8J3k.jpg
  22. Same price still? Roommate is thinking about getting a bike. Not trying to low ball, just don't know how bad you need it gone.
  23. Reading this made me want them back even more. When I first started to keeping with cars I always couldn't figure out why everything car wise (GM especially) was FWD, but then started researching Pontiac and started to love the extra RWD options and the sportier, more aggressive appearances. I always read rumors that it was because sales of Pontiac's, namely the G8 GT/GXP and the Solstice platforms. The G6's may have been front wheel as well, but I loved the styling of the GT and GXP models, specifically the coupes. I also thought they would be a cool option for someone who wanted something "sporty" without the insurance costs and impracticality of learning to drive a RWD vehicle in adverse conditions. Maybe some day we will get lucky and get Pontiac again.
