If only a day would come where classes of drivers licenses came to standard transportation like their is in trucks/heavy machines. Advanced drivers licenses for people with cars who qualify and who pass much more difficult drivers exams. I'm sure it's an exhaust pipe dream but it's a nice one. How much would a "faster" lane cost to put around the 270 loop? Make we can pass around the hat?

Drat just saw this post or I would have spoken up sooner. Have a great body parts guy I can get you in touch with if you need something else in the future. Hope everything works out for you if not let me know.

Aren't you also allowed to have a loaded gun OR an open container there but not both? Or is that just Mississippi? We up here in the rust belt also drive cars held together with bungee cords duct tape and a prayer. Not to overly generalize but, I would say typically there's aren't as many rattle traps rusting while going down the highway in good 'ole Tejas.

How often do you drive the STI? Seems to me it's become a bit of a garage queen...and at this point you could probably get a pretty penny for it. Sounds like its just an investment loosing money and not being enjoyed to me... just my .02

Option 3 and mod the Ruck? Think of how much a hill climb would be in THAT!

Oh and Draco I signed up as a collection center for the "Qualified" Licenses...so you can either drop by or send your check to store 6495

This is government sir, one issue at a time. I believe the front plate issue is slated to be addressed in 2021.

What's the sweet spot for cruising speeds in most modern cars? Where the maximum MPG as attained? Let's use economics and environmentalism to fight this fight!...unless of course that sweet spot is 65 in which case we should wisely ignore the findings. I know before I geared my Mustang, at 80 I could get a pretty respectable 26-28 sometimes higher depending on top up or down. The Stealth anything less than 70 it barely wants to run in 5th gear..

That is, if you aren't a long grease stain on the roadway. Can you imagine one of those in 'Merica? On second thought...maybe that's a good way to clean the gene pool a lil....hmmmm
-
Unfortunately idiots can happen at any speed. I lived in NC for a time and the NASCAR mindset isn't just on the track. Driving to school down a 4 lane 55 MPH road you would think we were lining up for a roll run almost every morning. More than a few people lost to accidents, from both their own stupidity and just random dumb luck.
-
With all the advances in safety, in tires, in roads, in everything about the driving experience you would think this wouldn't be such a long drawn out issue. what's the point of all these new "advances in technology" if I still have to drive by rules set before anti-lock breaks, air bags, and tires without white walls? Let's just hope the politicians don't get in the way of everything and make some BS amendments to take this part out of the bill. As for speeding tickets, ya I'm sure most people will just adjust to run that much faster. Maybe we can all petition for a lane only for well maintained cars with drivers who can handle "excessive" speeds?
-
The neat thing is this year they tied the 70 MPH bump into the budget so if they wants their monies they have to pass it. This will only be for roads in "non urban/metro" area though so our Columbus ones may not be all that changed. The state highway patrol have already signed off on it saying they are most worried about crashes in the urban areas which make up the lions share of accidents. Those limits won't be touched.
-
But now we can break the law just a little less? Or do we all bump our cruise up another 5 to keep those speeding tickets consistent?
-
Could it be? Are we no longer going to be the speedbump across the midwest? Am I really this excited about 5 miles per hour? http://www.ohio.com/news/proposal-would-boost-ohio-s-speed-limit-to-70-mph-1.380560

'04 WRX needing 100k service and slight upgrades
99StockGT replied to 99StockGT's topic in Passing Lane
At 100k is it about time to talk about turbo going? I've always been of the opinion when replacing a stocker that just for a little more...we could upgrade..so is it that time? If we are doing UP/DP mid-pipe tune on stock cat back how much sound difference is there? He's having to keep the wife happy during the project (at this point) so not looking for something highly different than stock. Starting to look like I'm going to have to follow the advice of the CR folk on this with the pipes+tune...scary -
Actually I'm also looking for weekend/evening help as well. Would need to have a clean driving record as well in case they may need to run parts of the occassional shop order.

Thanks for the input so far guys, love doing all the footwork for friends projects. -
I was actually remarking on this lastnight with a friend who has been in and out of the "car scene" for years. The younger crowd with a few notable exceptions doesn't to have the same fuel in their blood as some of the generations prior. Not to mention with the economy still not doing so hot expendable money to toss into a project/track car is hard to come by. There aren't a lot of new platforms people get into reasonably cheap to build from either. Think of how many of us still mod/build/repair our 80s and 90s machines.

As I didn't mention this in the origional post these are the 16" sport wheels. I know someone is quietly drooling over them. Wanted to give the CR crew a shot at them before tossing them up on CL.

forgive my ignorance but the midpipe on these is that 1 of the cats or is that a resonator? I had looked at one point for exhaust on this thing and it looked like other generations were a single cat system. Anything would need to be a direct fit as I'm sure neither of us is all that free with time -

I know the DP with my stealth certainly helped out, unfortunately I did it with several other upgrades at that point so hard to say exactly what I got out of just the pipe. I was hoping some Subie folk were up this early...calling Mr. I own 3 Subies and nothing else... -

Will certainly pass that along. The last item you have posted he certainly may be interested in. I know we are hoping to free up the exhaust and get a bit more rumble from it. -

Are these cars something that see a solid increase off of just a DP upgrade and tune? Best bang for the buck on a canned tuner?
