  1. Alright so, time for the official thread. We will be shooting from 11am-1pm on June 15th, cost per car will be $20 to cover the costs of the models attending. Each model will have several outfits available, there will be multiple photographers on hand to cover the event. Owners will have input on posing/model choice as well as outfit(s). We are looking to get shots of each model with each car at least once so you should each have a pretty solid range of photos available to you. Location is currently undisclosed, as we get closer to the shooting time we will let those who will be attending know. It WILL be a Columbus area location. Several people have PM'd me about submitting photos to magazines, this is certainly something we can work out as long as the owner/photographer/model are in agreement. Hoping for a solid turn out though we would like to limit the field to 20 cars so we don't over extend ourselves. Any questions/comments/suggestions feel free to post or PM!
  2. Alright we'll all set! Roster of models is set, have 5 beautiful ladies signed up and ready to add a few extra hot points for our rides. Date will be June 15th from 11-1 at an as yet undisclosed location. We will have most like 2 or 3 photographers there to shoot so we should be able to get a good mix of styles/shots with all the different models on/around/in each ride. They will be bringing a mix of outfits as well to cater to different appeals. Depending on how the shoot goes and if some of the photos really pop we can discuss on an owner/photographer basis submitting them to print or online magazines. Will be tossing up a Calendar event and starting a new post shortly in the Events section.
  3. Time to get crazy on pricing, who needs some car parts?! Over the next week we'll take extra special care of CR members on just about everything in the house. Call us with your needs, ask for me, and I'll see what we can work out for you. Spring is finally here! BTW as an example... VR1 Racing oils at 3.75 a quart!? Ohh ya!
  4. My dad used to have one of these, even still has the embossed leather jacket with the marauder bust on it. One of the cars you always regret letting go of. Comfortable, fun to drive, decent fuel economy...and you WILL get people moving out of your way in traffic. Almost every time we went out to dinner he would get the "Are you a cop?" or at the least odd looks. Black+Chrome=Sinister Good luck finding one in good shape, they are still out there!
  5. Especially with the Powell location we have interesting imports day in and day out that we network with, always nice to see some of that community getting together and getting their runs in OFF the street.
  6. You are welcome to bring these to both our Bethel Rd. location as well as my new store in Powell, I can look into getting us more involved if you would like. Wish I could have made the event!
  7. That's one good thing about these cars is there seem to be a TON of them properly done in Columbus so I figured I wouldn't have an issue finding people to help Thanks for the prompt help so far!
  8. Looking to begin a build on the cheap on an 04 WRX that to this point is bone stock. Looking to start with the UP/DP to free up some spool, the 04 does have the double Cat pipe so we are looking for a single cat swap which will increase flow. Also possibly interested in other exhaust components for the same car if the price is right.
  9. Have a roster of the models pretty well built, with timing between my travels for work and the models availability we are having to push the date back a little further than I like but not too terrible. Besides it gives me a couple weeks to put one of my toys back together Want to limit this to 20 rides, cost will be $20 per to cover the wages for the models who are going to be working for us, everything else I'll cover myself. We will be shooting from 11-1 to get the best possible light, obviously you'll probably want to get to the location a little early to get your makeup on and tires shined. I'm going to GUESS there will be a Cars and Coffee that weekend as well so hopefully everyone will already have to toys semi clean. So... Location will be posted once I get that finalized. Looking forward to it, these are always some fun events. Any questions comments suggestions feel free to PM me or post
  10. Autolite also makes a replacement plug for that engine. They are the HT1. If you are in the north end of Columbus feel free to stop in and we'll take care of you as a CR member.
  11. I test drove a '08 V6 a couple of years ago with a friend who was looking to buy his first Mustang, I have to say since the versions they released a few years before they have come a long way. Sound is better, handling is nice, throttle response is nice with the factory power upgrades they move down the road better than their older generation V8 brothas. Not to mention the dual pipes now on the back of V6s helps get rid of some of the image the single shot turn downs of yesteryears had. HOWEVER, the Mustang sound out of a V8 is something most of us can literally recognize from blocks away...how could you want anything else? Also on the Auto...I suggest you look into some of the gains found in flash upgrades on those. I know they aren't quite as fun to drive since you don't get the control you do over a manul BUT...
  12. Alright so, back in the states and time to get this ball rolling. Looks like we have quite a few people interested in this and the Urban setting would make more sense so we'll move forward with that. Looks like spring has finally sprung here too which will help things out as well, not fun trying to pose/shoot in the freezing springs. If I could get a PM from everyone who's interested I'll build a master list on my end to see how many people we can spread the cost over. I'm going to aim for 4/5 different models with varying looks so everyone can get a wide range of shots with their ride(s). Weekend days are usually the easiest, say maybe a Sunday late morning or early afternoon so we get some higher sun. Make it late enough so its post church so there are less scheduling conflicts. Any suggestions on locations/specific looks you are wanting?
  13. From what I remember on my LSE there were some random electrical issues that would work then not work, seats seem to stick in my mind. I had the V8 which was actually pretty sporty for what it is, transmission is an auto with the "manual" shifting feature which worked reasonably well. Issues with the headlight lense gaskets not staying sealed so you would get moisture inside the assembly. All in all I loved the car. Now with that being said, if you DO run into motor problems that 3.9 V8 is not easy to find or find parts for. I have a friends father who has a LSE sitting in storage with a blown motor because a new one is somewhere in the way too expensive and hard to find range. Used ones are available but also still very hard to get and pricey...but an engine swap would certainly be sexy
  14. I'm out at 5 today so if things are still going I would roll down and drool over some dyno pulls
  15. Had one years ago, very fun car and does drive and handle well. Has a pretty decent V8 rumble when you get on it otherwise it cruises nicely when your foot isn't in the floor. Engine issues can be a bit tough/expensive as there were some changes through the years that make parts somewhat hard to find.
  16. How late are the plans for the DTM meeting? Once I get out of the store I might be able to swing down for a bit. Maybe being around cars running well will motivate mine to start behaving.
  17. Usually makes for a pretty fun experience, I set one of these up years ago when I was still living up north. Get some great photos, guys can stand around pretending to admire their cars and come up with angles to get "just the right" photo of the model/car. Kinda like how the Fiats at the Auto show get so many people taking photos of them....it has nothing to do with the gorgeous italian models standing with the econo-boxes.
  18. For you truck/jeep guys, what kind of setting would you most like to see? Are they something you want to get muddy or just pose the car in something less urban? Do you/we WANT weapons involved?
  19. First of May, was thinking something maybe the second weekend in May? Looks like the majority of rides to be involved in this are cars so maybe we do a more urban look to start with see how that goes then possibly a truck/offroad shoot?
  20. Wish I had more parking at my new store, think we could do an amazing one up here in Powell! Don't want to have people parking all around the building with the crowd all split up Must...find...a...way! I DO wish that the weather would have gotten warmer and I had some more time to shoot, could have gotten some awesome pictures.
  21. Ok so to get my mind in line can I get some idea of who/what cars/trucks would be intrested in this and I can start working on it once I get back stateside? 1. Me - LeMans 2. Me - Other car
  22. Maybe with enough racing results we could convince Ford to reintroduce them? I've seen tons of video from around the country of SCCA tracked Merks just never seem to be able to find someone who has one currently
  23. Wait wait wait....so I'm going to have to get this thing to crank turn and stop AGAIN? Dunno if the Merk is tuned quite that well yet...I was happy that it got there in 1 piece without blasting my header completely apart! :dumb: Looks like a great video so far, would love to see some more ride respect coming to the Cbus. We have a pretty awesome range of amazing cars, and trucks, nice to see some of them on the interwebz. How long are you targeting the final cut?
  24. Someone please be kind enough to PM me some contact info for said Merkur race team...crying in side just a little bit that I didn't get to witness this in person
