It's a focus. Same reason the srt-4 neons died. People have a hard time spending twice what the lesser models cost. And $40k for a car that runs mid 13's and 0-60 in the mid 4 second range is a joke.

So I picked this bike up at the end of last summer but just don't have the time to ride anymore. Here's the description from my CL add and then a link to it for pics:
Looking to sell or trade my bike. I'm the 3rd owner, 3700 miles, slip on exhaust, new tires, runs great with no issues mechanically. Couple flaws, 1 small scrape on each side (previous owner) and the battery tray has a hole in it from the previous owner lowering it too much. Otherwise there's no cracks or anything in the fairings, bike looks mint from a couple feet away. These are some of the best performing and running bikes you can buy, and with this low of miles there's plenty of life left in it. Wanting to trade for something different like a civic si, turbo dsm, srt-4, is300 etc. Let me know what you have, if it's rusted or busted I don't want it. I won't add any cash as I don't need to get rid of it. I have a CLEAN title in hand ready to go.

I know it's winter time so selling/trading a bike is hard to do, but figured I'd post it up here. So if you're looking for a clean bike that hasn't been ragged out and has plenty of life left in it here it is. Asking $4000 as I'm sure come tax time it'll get snatched up quick at that price.

Get an Evo. There's a reason they are a little more than a wrx, because they are worth it. It's at the top of your budget but you can drive it year round with no issues.

I watched the first season and thought it was pretty good and somewhat realistic. It just seemed like a bunch of car guys and all of the shit they did. After that a lot of the drama was manufactured and was almost unwatchable. That truck was pretty badass though.
FYI, did anyone honestly believe any other these guys were putting up $10,000 to race each other?! Maybe now that the show has done well and they're racing out of town guys for real money but the first season? no fucking way is a working guy taking care of a family sinking 10's of thousands of dollars into his car going to show up and throw $10G's on a race.
You should go on YouTube and watch some of the older street racing vids out of cali, I wouldn't doubt these guys are putting up $10k to race.
