  1. Thanks guys. It definitely makes all of the work done on the current house feel worthwhile, knowing it makes this one possible. I definitely want to do an air system eventually. I'd love to have a separate electrical service, but have to check with the power company one we take possession. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  2. Pep boys creeper sale. These are surprisingly comfortable. Tough to beat >$13 shipped. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Big-Red-Plastic-Creeper-TR6240P/152701022419?epid=25016996494&hash=item238db0b0d3:g:SwIAAOSwryBaa5ep:rk:1:pf:1&frcectupt=true Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  3. Driven this thing much Clay? What's the review? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  4. If you can use it, by all means pick it up. I ended up grabbing a brand-new set from the outlet for two hundred bucks. I was going to pick this one up just to refinish and play around with. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  5. Joe, hopefully I'll be posting some catches in here when we move to the new house. I'm interested to see what's in the pond. Supposedly it's stocked with largemouth, bluegill, channel cats, and stripers. I'm not sure beyond that. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  6. The time has finally come to sell the bank owned house we bought six years ago with the intention to gut and flip when our kids were ready for school (Current house is In Columbus city schools). My only stipulation was an existing, or room for, a shop. After a whirlwind of a month, we ended up going into contract before even listing our house and then getting a full price offer on ours in 18 hours. Crazy Columbus market. The new house has a 3 car attached with 12 ft ceilings, so my detached shop won't need to be quite as big. Right now I'm looking at plans for a 28x46, or 28x32. I would appreciate suggestions on what I should incorporate into the building, as I want to do it right from the start. So far my list is: 1.Attic trusses on 2/3 then scissor over one bay. 2.In floor geothermal heating from pond. 3. Flush mount scissor lift and 4 post storage 4. Wood or pellet burner What else needs to be considered preconstruction? We close on 2/20. Excited to finally have room for projects. https://www.remax.com/realestatehomesforsale/12490-ault-road-pickerington-oh-43147-gid600025078116.html Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  7. Interesting to hear, and completely understood. It's unfortunate that the current climate has caused even good officers to question their career choice. I have the utmost respect for those who chose law enforcement and thank you for your service. On a side note, ready to sell me that Holden....... Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  8. It's great to hear that so many people on CR enjoy their work, or at least aren't made miserable by it, lol. It's awesome to be able to provide for your family by doing something that gives you enjoyment/fulfilment. On the other side of this, it drives me nuts to listen to people who are hard up, or in need of employment complain about a job that isn't "fun". There's a fine line between doing something that makes you happy and doing something necessary to put food on the table. Hopefully all on CR can get to a place of fulfiling employment. 9. I definitely would if I still had it! I sold it when I started my 60's truck search ( which is about to resume now that we close on the house 2/20). We actually need to bring the GL450 over for the works. It sees daily duty with the wife and kids. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  10. Awesome, thank you, if it matches the bottom box, I'll take it. I would gladly give you something for it. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  11. I put the wheels on, so the original probably won't have them. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  12. Looking for a matching set to this old Craftsman toolbox set. I actually picked this one up from another CR member a few years ago. Nothing to special, I'm just planning a setup for my new garage. Let me know if you'd like to part with one: Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  13. Love it. Pay is great, benefits are absolutely ridiculous, and I get to do/see different things all of the time. I think that's the thing that has kept all of my major employment endeavors interesting, I couldn't stand to do the same thing every day. I like modding elevators because I get to see the old equipment and buildings, but also install every aspect of the new ones. If I were in new construction I'd probably like it a bit less. I also enjoy that there aren't that many of us, and that 90% of the population has no idea what an elevator mechanic does. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

    Taxes

Could you explain? When I look at the tax tables online, it looks like my wife and I are in the 24% bracket, where last year we were in the 33% bracket. Even with an increase in income in 2018, it Should be significant savings, correct? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  15. Awesome project and beautiful work as always Alex. Can't wait to see this thing on the track. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  16. 84 lumber has a good sampling of garages on their site. Even if you don't buy from them, it has some good examples. I'm thinking about this one in either two or three door: Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk I'll probably show examples to the Amish builders and see how their prices compare. I'd have to hire labor on the 84 packages anyway.
  17. That was exactly my thought, what's the point? Seems like it would even add some value if it we're proven. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  18. "Untested"...... https://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/6802149120.html Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  19. $15k is twice what that slab should cost unless you are looking at special requirements. Double the material cost is probably a fairly safe estimate for some contractors labor, but can be done much cheaper. BTW:. You need to join garage journal.
  20. I'm doing the same, we are in contract on a house and I'd like to start the shop when the weather breaks. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  21. Buck, are you looking for a stick built or pole barn? They may do both, but my buddy just had some Amish guys build him a 28x40. He didn't want metal siding, so he had them completely sheet the sides so he could put up siding to match the house. So, 28x40, fully sheeted, metal roof, he paid $12k and they built it in two days! They would have done the concrete two, but he didn't know that soon enough. I Know this is probably not what you are building, but just for reference. I would glad get the builders info if you're interested. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  22. Keep on working boys, it'll pay off!! After spending the last 5 years remodeling our house ourselves, we found one we wanted to buy. Listed our house yesterday and got a full price offer in less than 24hrs. Almost TWICE what we paid for it. It was daunting at times, as I tend to take on a lot at once, but just keep on plugging along and someone will appreciate it. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  23. That is awesome. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  24. Yep, I don't see them scoring 30 in the 4th. Clemson is going to be tough for a few years. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  25. Interesting to see these. I grew up driving most of those roads....... Probably much faster than I would today, lol. Hopefully I'll have something fun to hit them with later this year. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
