My guess is that someone just didn't want to spend the $$$ on the 5", the 1" isn't necessarily "temporary", just a cheapo. You can go out and buy that same size in a better filter if you choose. The 5" filter has much deeper pleats of course, therefore much more filter surface area and will last much longer. The filter media is probably similar, but again varies based on how much you want to spend.

Trish, what does the finish need to be like? I'm guessing the lighter the better, for moving around. I'm thinking a bit of bartering of services would work ;-)

I did, and I agree, I found it pretty interesting to see the view of a medical professional who had gone from opponent to proponent. Although I have to admit, as new parents, we were both sitting there wondering why the parents didn't relocate to Colorado. I mean if you really believe that the medicine is making that big a difference with your child, from 75 (yes 75!!) seizures/day to 4-5 seizures/day, fucking move!!! I know it isn't that simple, but seemed like a no brained when your child is involved.

Agreed, you just need a speaker, I'm sure they are available in a 4" height. Much cheaper.

Just saw the story on the little girl with seizures replayed the other night. I know that there is a lot left out of those stories, but if there's any truth at all, how could anyone argue against at least legalizing medical use?? Doubt you'll get anywhere near that. You'll just have to find the right person, that just happens to need one right now. I'd say you'd be lucky to get $1,500 for a used system with no warranty, and no tech will want to touch. Your price is more than the new equipment costs. Not trying to hurt a sale, just trying to help you price it to move. Delete this post if it is seen that way.
