But yes, certain cities/villages have their own ordinances against being a spectator.

I'd recommend a TVS ( Roush ) setup, bang for the buck i'm not sure you can top them. Great power and great tq as well. VMP makes a nice kit for the TVS as well. There's always centri blowers as well. They have the potential to put out massive power but the tq curve is not there like the TVS.

 

As for Basic mods to start off with, a Tune, shifter bracket, AB and an O/R pipe. Anything more than that it's really not worth the $ for Hp.

 

Really depends on what he wants to accomplish with the car.

i hear you cant go wrong with tick performance or rpm transmissions, I went with rpm myself because of how easy it was to get a new trans shipped to me and just send my old one back rather than ship to tick wait for it to be built and sent back.

Very true. I was hoping it would last another 2 or 3 months until I put it away for the season so this might be the route I go.

I still am confused about one thing... how do they know how many times you have been stopped for tint? It must show up on your record somehow. And, if so, when does it come off your record?

They keep a log of warnings. It doesn't appear on your license or anything, just something each department does to keep track of these kinds of things.

Transmission in my 04 C5Z took a dump last night. Is it worth it to re build the stock unit or should I just replace it with something like an RPM trans?

The car is only going to be a H/C/I car this winter so it will never see more than 500rwhp.

They can't impound your car on the spot for something like that. They can issue an order to have the equipment fixed (in this case, the tint and front plate), and if it isn't fixed within the allotted time (usually 30 days) they can impound it if you get stopped again.

He's just trying to scare you.
