  1. I attended the 2014 Spring Track Day at National Trail Raceway, and had a blast! Is there one scheduled for this year? Thanks!
  2. I have a couple of 10/22's and they are fun to plink with, as you can buy all sorts of tacti-cool stuff for them, as well as parts/accessories to make them more accurate... but they are NOT a target rifle out of the box. If you're expecting anything better than quarter to half dollar sized groups at 25 yards, you'll be disappointed. The really older ones are supposed to shoot better. Good Luck!
  3. $16.99 Free shipping if you ship it to the store for pick up. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shooting/Ammunition/Handgun-Ammunition|/pc/104792580/c/104691780/sc/104372280/Remington174-UMC-Pistol-Ammunition/706093.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fhandgun-ammunition%2F_%2FN-1100189%2B4294756016%2FNe-4294756016%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104372280%3FMDRB%3Dam22%26WTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104792580%253Bcat104691780%26WTz_st%3DGuidedNav%26WTz_stype%3DGNU
  4. The military has some awesome benefits when it comes to college. You can join the National Guard, and they will pretty much pay your whole way. You can join ROTC in college, and they will pay your way, and give you a salary to boot. When you graduate college, you'll be an officer in the Reserves, and generally have the option to go full time, and if you decide to make the military your career... you still have the college degree to fall back on when you retire at age 40 or so. Look some of the stuff up. The military has some killer options out there.
  5. The loan companies don't want to loan you money your freshman year... and just let it sit stagnant. That money starts accruing interest as soon as they loan it to you. You might borrow $40k in student loans, but by the time you graduate... with accrued interest, your debt might be $60k! Then, if you pay it back over 20 years... you will probably end up paying back $100k! Student loans are the hardest to get out of. Bankruptcy won't do it. But, if it were easy to get out of, and there was no real collateral... there wouldn't be many places willing to loan 18 year old college kids tens of thousands of dollars. I'm 46. When I started Marshall University in state tuition was $512 per semester. By the time I graduated it had more than doubled. It was the beginning of the bubble, and just went nuts from there. Two of my kids are in the 9th and 11th grade. NOT looking forward to college! It was a LOT cheaper back in the 80's! Good Luck!
  6. Littering is done by self centered, clueless individuals who think of nobody but themselves... and are too lazy to have a bag in their car for trash. Heaven forbid THEIR car gets any trash in it. Throw that shit out beside the road and feel superior while watching someone else clean it up.
  7. Depends upon the gaskets. If you use gaskets that relax over time... and that's what causes the bolts to appear loose... they won't do you any good. If you use the dead soft copper or aluminum gaskets, they should work just fine.
  8. Cabelas shows 136 different types of 12ga ammo in stock online. It can be shipped for free to a store to be picked up. http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/browse/shotgun-ammunition/_/N-1100191+4294751476/Ne-4294751476/Ns-CATEGORY_SEQ_104567580?WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104792580%3Bcat104691780&WTz_st=GuidedNav&WTz_stype=GNU
  9. It's hard to understand the market, sometimes. It's weird how the economy can be so far in in the shitter... and the stock market just keeps climbing. The blue collar middle class continues to evaporate and trade good jobs for bad. Hard to say where it ends. Could all crash again. Who knows?!?!?! ...probably someone who knows a lot more about it than me! LOL
  10. Is there a Cabelas in Columbus? If so, you can go to their website and buy whatever you want online... and have it shipped for free to the store for pickup. Kind of like Walmart's online 'ship to store' free shipping.
  11. THIS. These engines with their long spark plugs are known for pulling the threads out of the heads. Seems they get carboned up, then drag the threads out somehow. There is a kit made just for this problem. If you google 5.4 spark plug thread repair, you will find all sorts of info. The kit is for doing the job in the vehicle. http://www.timesert.com/html/bigsert_sparkplug.html Good Luck!
  12. It's dangerous to hit the brakes really hard going 100+ mph. It's safer to coast. If they knew he was standing on the brakes just to run slow enough, I can see the issue. If he just hit them easy, he probably wouldn't be able to see it from the end of the track. Same guy told me to wear my jacket. Gave me a thumbs up the next pass when I had it on. I can see their side. If you let someone slide by... and get sued because of it, you're going to be a little more strict. They still let some stuff go.
  13. Nice Job on the pictures! You're a really good photographer!
  14. My brother did what you are doing. He got out of the Marines and moved in with me to go to college at Marshall University when I lived in Huntington, WV. He did NOT have the maturity to go to college right after high school. He would have flunked out for sure if he went at age 18. But spending 6 years in the Marine Corps taught him a lot of structure and responsibility. I thought him moving in with me would be a disaster, but his quarters were clean and he made a 3.0+ GPA right off the bat! He fit in and made friends just fine. For him, it was definitely an ADVANTAGE starting later, as he was a bit more mature and able to handle the responsibilities. Too many kids start college, and focus on the distractions... while trying to do classes in their 'spare time'. LOL He learned to take care of business first.... and then go out to play. Too many college students get that backwards. LOL Good Luck!
  15. Thanks Guys! It started out as a $1300 beater when I was 15 years old... back in 1983. lol It was great racing with everybody! Lots of cool cars out there, and a good variety! Looking forward to the next one!
