  1. as far as sponsors go. the only reason i have a chance at major sponsorship is due to my close friends owning a very large parts distribution and sales company. i have quite a few smaller sponsors(motorex,vp fuels, monster energy, suomy helmets, chickenhawk, etc.) that give great discounts on parts and some free merch. but that doesn't do a whole lot. roadracing is by far the most expensive and least paying motorsport i have ever done.
  2. to run at the pace I do against the guys I do, for an entire season competitively, yes. To do it right you need atleast 2 bikes fully built and ready to go, that's 15k a pop IF you have some very good hookups like I do. And then you're gonna wanna be on new rubber everytime you hit the track, so I run 6 classes a weekend, maybe 7. that's 4 practices on sunday and 7 races. you can get away with 2 rears and a front in the practices, and then 7 new sets for the races. so that's a lot of cash in tires, now if you do win, then you have a chance to pay for all that with contingency, but you have to win, and Pirelli paid SHIT this year. You're then gonna have routine engine maintenance to your built motors, expect 2 rebuilds per each motor depending on how many rounds you are making. Now calculate in all your expenses to just get to the races, most are gonna be 5+hours away and if you don't have a motorhome then you gotta choose to pitch a tent or pony up for a hotel. I only did 2 races this year and spent $3k in tires, and 1k in fuel(didnt use all the fuel ofcourse). and dont get me started about AMA weekends. I'm kinda thankful my shit was broke during mid-o, or I would've dropped a TON of coin this is just for the regional stuff, if you wanna do WERA nationals, add in extra long trips and an entire day of qualifying(fuel, tires, time on motors), not to mention if you throw the thing down the track a few times you got repairs. I bought a second bike as a back up and ended up destroying the racebike and having to start from scratch again, reusing suspension and built motor(which blew up during testing)
  3. haha, unless i find someone else to stay with:cool: lol. but we know that NEVER happens.... I think i'm goin out tomorrow night too for a girl's bday. should be a good time
  4. well i'm down to party on saturday i guess. I've got a football game at 7 on friday, playin against the cops, so i gotta kill some pigs. lol. saturday i'm free though. and if ya'll are shootin i might be down to bring out the glock and maybe something else.
  5. def. a good shop. especially for parts. they have a great selection and prices are very good. usually 1/2 of dealer prices.
  6. It's just me and a few of my buddies. We all race, BMX,Road Race, or MX. We are pretty famous with some of the people around here, mainly the younger age group. we like to party
  7. i'm kind of a big deal in Westerville...lol. just listen for the GFC guys, we're known.
  8. well the deal that was being discussed was in the 6 figure ballpark. can't really give specifics ofcourse. but their sales had dropped off and the deal is riding on how they do during the holidays. if the influx of cash resumes to the prior levels, then we'll have a deal. I'm also considering on making a smaller deal. The original plan was to run the AMA series with a couple bikes, if the money isn't there, we may be able to just do the WERA stuff, I'm also looking at going back to MX, as I have a very small deal on the table for that. it's all very early though to do the WERA regional series competitively we are lookin at the $50k range, WERA Nationals more like $75k and part of the AMA series would be a 6 figure budget to be anywhere near competitive. remember this is with NO money out of my pocket, minimum of one bike and all the spares, motorwork, suspension, etc. I would only be providing the rig, tuning, etc. I have no way of doing this on my own, my father funded everything out of pocket the last 3 years and is about to retire, so he's not interested in dumping money into this anymore.
  9. if i can, I'm gonna try to run some endurance. gotta stay on the track
  10. next year looks to be a no go for me... sad since I was showing some real promise this year. With the economy in the bucket, my one possible corporate sponsor is not willing to part with the large sums of money needed to compete at the level I want to. I may do some trackdays, if i have a bike or can borrow one.
  11. lol, thanks guys! it was a real shock to see myself in the Mag this week. Pretty sweet for sure.

  14. it was one hell of a weekend for sure! i drank myself stupid all weekend. my buddy Jeff got a ton of awesome pix, but it's what he does. friday's shenanigans on the golf carts was pretty damn wild.
  15. hell yea! glad to see ya'll got a bunch of time on it. can't wait for monte to get his so i can steal it for a session
  16. lol. i'll see ya'll up there tomorrow!
  17. depends on how much energy you need. is it a question of amperage or voltage? even if you had to have a small tank to start off with you would be able to keep it up. look at the modern hybrids. they run purely as electric cars with just a generator for the batteries. there is a new car coming out that can be charged on a 110v outlet. remember that our technology has developed extremely fast in every form of our lives, except for fuel technology...that we know of. this may not be the answer, but there is research being done that very few people know about, and with good reason. if we do ever see some of this technology, it's not gonna be from an individual, it will come directly from an auto manufacturer who wants to make a huge jump in the market share with a technology that it owns.
  18. incase ya'll didn't know this is the same weapon used by Army snipers..... helluva gun.
  19. damnit! i knew they were gonna let you guys ride it. yet another reason for me to be incredibly pissed off about my situation! fuck my life! lol.
  20. just took the motorhome up today. got a killer spot, hope it gets to stay there. i'll be workin the stt/midohio school booth sat. afternoon/sun morning
  21. not to mention the problems michelin was having at laguna with getting temp in the tires.
  22. what tires are they? the more race style tires dont take much scrub in. it's all about heat really. i'll slap on a new set of tires and just wait to drag a knee for the first few corners, the it's game on. but i have them at 150* on the warmers
  23. it def was great. gotta admit it's the first time i've been in a packed theater and the whole place would react simultaneously the same way. it was quite fun. the magic trick was hilarious!
  24. for the training stuff. you could have them go to mid-ohio and have me instruct them. lol. and i was thinking the same thing about FasDuc
