yea, i spent a lot of money on these forks, and they didnt work. So i'm shippin them back to the guy to inspect them again and make sure he didnt screw anything up. So it BETTER be perfect when they come back

i've got the Ohlins 25mm cartridges up front and the new Ohlins TTX36 shock in the rear. All built be Thermosman in Georgia. The springs in the forks are too soft for my style/weight and Thermosman is gonna readjust them again.

Well, Had my first race on the 600 and as an expert this weekend. The forks are all jacked up and we have to run the preload cranked in to get my sag right, plus i'm just bottoming the shit outta them on the brakes and sometimes mid corner. anyway, i walked away with three top tens including in saturday's 20 lap Solo with 24 riders. Gettin the forks fixed this week and gettin the bike mapped for U4. Shit's pretty serious when you get those white plates... And I didnt see the F&S crew up there. did you guys make it?
  5. I actually saw him.. if memory serves me right he was instructing group 1 of novice... I was in group 2 and I vaguely remember seeing him beside me and thought I heard him say something about that R1 being a brand new bike? yep that's him. one of the coolest guys i know, he'll give the shirt off his back for another racer/rider any day of the week. not to mention he's extremely talented, and very humble about it
  6. I understand and agree with that-but the fact that the capability is there is what impresses me. A 600 that has the ability to go 135+BONE STOCK is nice-very nice.. I've had my '03 636 on US35 near Jamestown and Washington Courthouse up to 167mph indicated...I had my elbows on my knees and was as tucked as I can get, it wasn't going no higher. Ofcourse realisticly with speedo error correction I was going around high 150's. Bone stock other than BMC race filter and Muzzy slip-on. I was speaking of trap speeds in the 1/4 mile. Gotcha! But this isn't a drag bike, it's a corner carver/road race bike my friend. [/quote:a4a29] and so is a 1000. the funny thing about people saying how their bike will hand another bike it's ass in the twisties is funny. cuz a 1000 will destroy a 600 if the rider is good enough. same thing with an SV650. i've handed asses of 1000 riders on my old sv at the track. it's all about the sack region and skill[/quote:a4a29] Every liter bike I run into maybe 1% of them know what's up. I'm on a 636 and If they fuck with me when I'm out on the back roads...I crack it loose and lose them and just roll my eyes, because they just showed me they don't need that bike. Most people buy a liter bike for the pose factor of saying it's fast, but can't come even CLOSE to tapping into it's potential. BTW, how long you had your race license? Very cool, wish I had the money to put into myself to get that far. We spend too much on other shit unfortunately. [/quote:a4a29] This is my second season, first year as an expert, first year on a 600. I've picked it up pretty quickly, but now i'm in the big leagues and things are gonna be much more difficult. It def. costs a TON of money to do this sport, especially where i'm at. Luckily my dad and I have raced bikes and cars for years and he supports it, this year i'm slowly taking on the economic demands, and boy do they hurt!
  7. turn the 600 into a trackday weapon...
  8. my buddy bill was instructing the novice group on sat. and in the intermediate on sunday. he was on a blue '07 street r1, he was running under 1.40's all day on it with the stock tires. btw, his gone 1.32 at mid ohio on a stock motor 600.

sadly, i think i'll be at a race that weekend. or is it a weekday?
  13. i was parked up in the "staff parking" by the concession and garages. i went out in a couple intermediate groups, but was wearing the green vest as i was track coach in the advanced group.
  14. well, no one came around to talk, but it was a weird weekend for sure. started out with some serious tuning problems. bike wouldnt run for anything on partial throttle below 11k. finally just decided to ride it out. ended up having to run in 1st gear through the carousel and keyhole. basically ran a gear low on the whole track to keep it from dying out on me. finally got used to the 600 and then started playin with suspension since my front end was bottoming. cranked in the preload and set the sag, tried it again and continued to bottom. gonna have to get a heavier set of springs for my big self. only was runnin 1:41's consistently, but with all the problems with the bike and suspension that was pretty good. hope everyone else had fun and please share your experience on here.

  16. i'll be up there. Look for the Motorhome with a white trailer on the back. it'll have the Cycle Search International logo on it and my Black 06 GSXR 600 will be there. number 852 expert. i'll be instructing, so i wont have much time off the track, but before the day starts and afterwards i'll be just hangin around. everyone feel free to stop by.
  17. i believe clutch is looking for an opening.
  18. i saw all of you on 33E at around noonish i think. I was coming back from a wild nite at OU. sucks about the people pitchin bikes this weekend. talked to Maverick today, sounds like a good time other than the slides off the pavement.
  19. man, that's way shitty. glad you are ok though. check out cycle search for the parts. they have an ad on here, plus i work there and race for them!! we'll set you up with whatever you need.
  20. hey mav, was that you at CSI today that i talked to? Anyway, i can help you out some with the suspension. the stock stuff is pretty good, but it really all depends on the pace you run and the sticky lil round guys

    Honda bikes?

i believe our retail shop has a 600rr, we just sold a nice rc. got a REALLY clean 06 r6 at the salvage store in delaware for about 6495 i believe. got some real nice bikes right now actually. you should swing up to cycle search sometime soon.
  22. we just got the bike tuned on the dyno yesterday. put down 114 to the wheel on 94 sunoco. not bad for a pipe, filter, pciii. shooting for 120 on the good fuel.
  23. just needs painted and stickered. cant wait to ride it!
  24. sounds great! can't wait to get on the track with everyone. If you want, bring some food, i'll have the motorhome there and we can all take our lunch break there and eat together.
  25. i heard it on the blitz too. the guys were talkin about their bikes and mentioned ohioriders
