  3. that's the way ALL busas are
  4. put that turbo setup on an ls1.....no replacement for displacement iirc. 5.7>5.0or4.6
  5. kickass. i should have the 600 together by then, but the tune would be WAY off. i've got no map in it yet and it'll be way lean. would be cool to just get some numbers though i guess.
  6. there are usually a good amount of people. Mid-ohio is usually pretty big. which is why we have so many dates. and with these two days being on a weekend and it being the first weekend of the year, i'd say it'll be sold out. I absolutely can't wait!
  7. you know what's real sweet though? buy the Kit ECU and that switch becomes a 3 mode rate-of-change traction control! only costs $1500 too.
  8. go to www.sportbiketracktime.com we have a forum to answer any and all questions. mid-ohio is an absolute blast!!! oh and i just installed my new Matsushima exhaust today.....it is LOUD yet real deep sounding. oh and it loves to spit nice big fireballs
  9. heck yea! can't wait to get out there and help some people go fast
  10. hey, not advertising or anything, but a good alternative to iron pony would be www.sportbiketrackgear.com Brian runs the company and is a good friend of mine. best prices on the net. period
  11. i think i'll be there as an instructor and breaking in the new racebike
  12. hopefully have it together in the next month.... and me on the old SV racebike
  13. damn! i haven't been around enough! hope you a speedy recovery there young one, and we're gonna have a ton of fun this year!
  14. Well guys Just want to let you know that if you have a bike for sale or know of anyone who does, just let me know. My sponsor Cycle Search is always looking for used bikes plus it helps me out to find them.
  15. def. an arenacross track. all arenacross tracks are 4-lane style(typically) with whoops, rythm section, catapult jump, and a straight away. quite simple
  16. hm... that sounds nice, i surely miss having a track in my back yard... i'll be going to school in lima til the end of march, so if it warms up enough i may be interested in coming out
  17. yea basically, the way roll racing works it's all about hp. but i'm not a roll racer, and i now ride a gsxr 600, so it'll be closer to a 120rwhp bike this year. now do something that requires skill and you will see people on much smaller bikes beat up on the bigger ones. there really isnt anything in roll racing, if there was someone would sanction events and people would go roll race, oh wait it's called Bonneville.
  18. and i'm agreeing! hence the 4-stroke/2 stroke comparison. the 4's are at a disadvantage, so they have more displacement, just like the twins used to have. ducati is trying to get that back with twins being allowed 1200cc's.
  19. haha i know i know as the fast russian once said, "Open Throttle, FACKING POOSY!!"
  20. HOLY SHIT!! Mike Fouts! it's been way to long. This is Drew Brenner, haven't seen you or PJ for a long time. didnt know you had taken over PRP. that's super! wish i still had a car, moved on to bikes now, although old dad,Dan Brenner, is still aching for another racecar. we'll def. be up there showing our support this year, dad took his vette up there a couple times last year, and we'll prolly have the bike up there to work on starts. good luck this year and can't wait to chat with ya.
  21. ofcourse you'd prolly consider me a slower rider, i am B but man some of those triples can get a lil hairy. it's hard getting used to that again, been a long time since i was racing.
  22. ya'll can talk abot how great riders you are all you want. i say come up to mid-ohio and do a track day, see what you really have. you get to do your top speed runs, your twisty riding, your braking, everything that the bikes are made to do. believe me, i do instructing, almost everyone comes into a day thinking they are hot shit, but until you go out on a real track you dont know what it's like. sure you can twist the throttle in a straight line and go 180mph, now try to stay wfo to the #4 marker before clamping down on the anchors and throwing it into t6/7. dont wanna come off as an asshat, but i've seen many egos get deflated at the track and have many other instructors that have seen the same. not saying that some people dont show up and haul ass, but the vast majority get a reality check, i sure know I did. seriously though, come on up sometime this year, i'll be instructing and i'll be glad to help anyone out, no matter who you are, i enjoy seeing riders make that break through from advanced street to a trackday speedster. tons of fun and not that expensive plus you can actually see if i do/don't know what i'm talking about.
  23. ok tell me how much rider matters in a roll race? slap on a quick shifter or an air shifter or just shift right. it's not "hard" to do. put it in the right gear and go! every straight line IS pretty much the same. every racetrack is TOTALLY different, you are comparing busa's to raptors basically. drag racing, roadracing, flatrack, etc. is very difficult, that's why they are sports. roll racing is ghey, it's not really even racing in my book. if there is no organization that sanctions it, then it's not racing. it's just seeing who has the faster bike on the top end, whoopty fuckin do, who cares. that's just a "i have a bigger cock than you" event. the faster bike wins. now go from a dig where you actually have to be able to launch that 180hp bike and now you have some real racing.
  24. the I-4's will never make the across the board power of the twins. they are i-4's and behave like 2-stroke mx bikes. they have a VERY noticeable powerband that is limited with low tq numbers. whereas a twin carries a much broader curve over the band and pulls from very low revs, thus behaving like a 4-stroke mx bike. that's some serious simplification, but it seems that that's how i have to break it down for some people. look at the AMA, those restrictions are not in effect here and the ducati's compete very well. eventually the L-4 motor will take over and make things much more interesting.
  25. wow you are not getting the point. the busa,zx,and 1100 are more of a "sport touring" category. the "sport bikes" are Repli-racers, built as a homologation for roadracing. yes they are street bikes, because the rules say that they HAVE to be. busa, show me the rules.... everyone knows that the V-twins have been givin breaks since the superbike classes moved up to 1000cc's. it used to be 1000twins/750 inlines. as i said before it is like the 4-strokes vs. 2-strokes, twins need more displacement, hence the 1098. busa's,14's, 1100's etc. are drag bikes, they handle like shit but have good power/tq numbers, they weren't built for road racing but for all out top speed/drag racing. check out the r1 LE and see that they only made 500, as that's the minimum for racing homologation, these bikes are race bikes, but HAVE to be street legal.
