  1. I called those hopping beetles as a kid and used to let them pinch my fingers. Now, I would probably scream like a bitch and stomp it.
  2. Jesus, way to make me feel old. http://www.cash4redlines.com/CudaRedline.jpg I guess any car has a rake. But, (at least from my generation and friends), a real "rake" was an obnoxious hood aimed at the ground stance. Usually assisted by cheap-ass air shocks and non-functional slapper bars.
  3. Probably started because people tried to throw a fat tire under cars not designed for it. Kind of like how wings got bigger, fart cans got bigger, stereos got obnoxious, wheels got to 25"+... Once someone tries it, it catches on and won't die. I am just replacing a couple seals, and I thought it was a good photo op.
  4. I'm bringing it back. http://www.nurkvinny.com/images/Vehicles/Cars/2001_Z06/DSCN3955_Med.jpg
  5. I've already thrown my cell twice today because I can't even get 1 bar. Just post here whatever details you have. I can also ask a good friend that lives near me that drinks a lot of bottled beer. I think I have 12-20 here from last night (Blue Moon I believe)
  6. So, was the car wrecked? Or, did you do this to a complete, intact well-painted car?
  7. Sooo, how many do you need? On weeks that people bring over beer in glass bottles to drink, there could easily be 50-60 here. Any specific colors, shapes, styles you need?
  8. There are far more experienced people here than me, but I'll throw in my $01. I had various crap all over the GTO when I got it. The cheapo bottle of Turtle Wax bug and tar remover did wonders, but was pretty much a must to wax afterwards... Worked for me.
  9. Understood, thanks. On topic was in reference to Ford windshield talk.
  10. ... from the old office. The ONLY reason I am even considering somewhere else with Rob's offer is because I got a PM on the Corvette site minutes before Rob posted here. The other guy is getting back to me in the morning. I found that these have been bought before for $22 shipped... for 2 sets of o-rings/seals. I found them GM parts direct for $35 (for one set) + $30 shipping and laughed.
  11. Rob, I appreciate the effort. The part numbers are in the first post. Shoot me a PM when you get a price for them, and I'll let you know whether I'd like you to order them. I have a couple calls in through the Corvette forum also. Please keep this thread on topic.
  12. I removed the passenger side differential cover today to replace the oring and axle seal on an 01 Z06. I would like some help finding a vendor/dealer/store to buy the following part numbers. I found them several places, but I refuse to pay $25-$30+ to have items shipped that weigh less than a pound total. axle seal, P/N 88996703 O-ring, P/N 89047953 sealant, P/N 1052942 Also, all DIY threads I found dealt with the driver side. As stated, I am working on the passenger side. Can anyone say for sure that the two sides use the same o-ring and seal? Thanks!
  13. I just booked tickets today, and southwest's site was cheaper than the 'cheap' sites selling southwest flights.
  14. Looking for a Ford 9" center section with posi and would prefer 4.10-4.56 gears, but will look at other ratios. Thanks
  15. Moved to Consumer Reports.
  16. Just my chin. Must have put it someone it didn't belong...
  17. Don't you worry, that damn bike will be ridden a lot this weekend. Show looked like a good start. Hopefully it will grow 3 or 4 fold next year. Had an ok time other than being called a day walker...
  18. Be there in the Ram to spectate. Found a nice large puddle of 90# under the rear of the Z06 this morning.
  19. IF this is true, things have changed.
  20. $4k probably buys a new 3.6
