Yes, it is. I also learned tonight that the stock 11.x to 1 pistons made 41 years ago were forged units.
This motor is 4 decades old and only needs a very minor hone, and that is only for the new rings to seat correctly. Bearings looked fine (yes, they are being replaced).
I met Mr. Beach this evening. Chatted with him for an hour. I found him very easy to talk to, and even learned how cranks are balanced. He took the time to show us without us even asking how it worked. BTW, someone's 347 stoker crank needed a lot of material drilled out.
I have high hopes for how our little 327 will turn out.
Does anyone have any knowledge of Beach Performance from New Albany? I know someone who is sending an engine there for some work - a slightly-more-than-stock-rebuild build up.
He asked if I could find out anything about them.
Thanks
Vince
There were no racial slurs used in the original post. "Black" is a fucking adjective. I am tired of being afraid to say "some hispanic guys" or "some black guys." Not everyone is thinking an underlying slur when they use black, asain, white, or mexican in a statement.
Usually I feel the people that are offended by someone saying "a black guy" are more racist than the person that originally made the factual statement.
Nope, no regrets. Most of the 40+ cars I have owned and sold have made the 'extra' money I spend on modding the others. Having said that, now that kid #1 is here, and we're thinking about kid #2, I have spent less on mods recently.

"Car hooks on accell.rear kicks out when 2nd hits,very sweet.Seat Belts a must.0-100 in ?10-12sec"
Fucking idiots.
I bought a 98 Civic yesterday. Fuck this.
At $3.45 per gallon, the car will have paid for itself in 2 years if I drive it 3 days a week instaed of the Z71. And, that takes into account insurance and tags for the Honda.
