Does your external cooler have a fan? An external with a fan is God's plenty (the set up I just switched to BTW, very happy with it).

I have a friend who is trying to figure out a no-start situation. 4.3 Auto. 167k miles Checked spark. Replaced Crank Position Sensor. Replaced regulator and fuel filter. Getting 40-50lbs fuel pressure. Any common issues with this year 4.3?

I know you said block, but it can't hurt to throw this out there. We have everything from a 400 shortbock (heads included), EXCEPT for the block. Good crank, rods, pistons, cam, etc, etc. A guy built a nice 400, then never added antifreeze. Dad bought it all from him and the block was scrapped. Let me know if you'd be interested in any of this.

Ditto. FYI, they finally came up with a smaller pulley option for them.

Very likely coming out of the hole in the bottom of the pump. Check bottom hose also.
