    520$

I should mention that ive gone to NTB off Billingsley for all my oil changes and always been pleased with the service ive gotten. The only reason Im even bothering with the dealer is b/c I had my car in for a recall. When I got it back the next day the passenger side mirror was broken, not just cracked BROKEN and barely hanging on the car. I had to piece it back together and they said they'd call me in 2 weeks when they got a new one in to replace it.... That was last winter. I should probably make a consumer report thread about it. trowa: at least Id be getting a happy ending in that case.

    520$

Thats how much Byer's Imports wants to do a 40k mile check up on my piece. What a fucking joke. When asked what is in included in this checkup Mandy of Byers pretty much replied with all the same old bs answer's "top off any/all fluids (gee thanks), check brakes, rotate tires, change oil (which by itself they charge 52.00$), change plugs (yes they change plugs every 40k miles, i dont know why) but leave the plug wires, and the elevendy-billion point inspection" Are you fucking kidding me? 520 dollars for shit I can do in my drive way in 2 hours with minimal tools? I use to work at Graham Ford in the service department and remember quoting this same exact service for 99$, the whole point in buying this car was to have something newer that i didnt have to fix or tinker with every weekend. I was pondering getting rid of my piece for the past few months but if this is any indicator of how much it will cost to service this car in the future its definitly going. And fuck the idea of getting a newer/cheap Rabbit. I knew i shouldnt have sold my 84 diesel rabbit.
  4. Or just keep your civic and buy a bike for 3500. Garantee'd you'll pick up more woman and be much faster than if you drove a DSM. If you MUST buy a DSM do what John says, buy a 2g shell, install 1g 6bolt with some mods. And if you dont know what any of that means... buy a mustang.
  5. Odd... I think i do. What did he do? Where was that pic taken?
  6. Your kidding me right? I live in that area and drive that route everyday, sometimes multiple times a day. It's not THAT bad.
  7. HAHA I had one similar to that sunday night.
  8. I think the biggest opponents to this law aren't neccessarily liberals/democrats but regular non-political types who just want to decide for themselves.
  9. I have a friend who has EXTREME anxiety about driving. Never been in a serious wreck, always grew up in Delaware so he never had to drive far for anything. I met him and our other friend at polaris hooters, and our other friend had to drive his car for him. Its just the way it is for him. He cant even drive on the highway.. AT ALL. I dont understand it but I dont really presss the issue. If he doesnt want to drive then thats his choice. I was T-boned by a 16 year old kid in his dads silverado 2500 in high school. I was driving my step-dads lincoln Mark 8 when he hit me in the drivers side. I was in the right lane and a minivan blocked my line of sight to the left side of the intersection. Light turns green, i pulled out and BAM, wow that hurt. While I wouldnt call it anxiety, Im still fairly cautious about being the first car into an intersection after the light turns. But if you think of all the possabilities (drunk driver, cop with his lights on, distracted soccer mom trying to make the green, etc...) its understandable.
  10. Ironing huh? Not so sure she need's her clothes pressed right now, she might have more serious matters on her mind. Irony maybe? I agree with everyone else, lady is stupid. Stupid bitches only care when things go bad. The "I made a mistake" defense isn't enough to explain her lack of intelligence. Isnt there a higher court that can decide whether or not to prosecute even if the DA doesnt want to?
  11. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/stewart_mandel/09/04/power.rankings2/index.html Anyone else see where MI is ranked now? Stewart Mandell dropped them out of the top 25, damn thats quite a fall. What I dont understand was his comments for OSU. He basically said "if michigan sucks so bad, then OSU must not be far behind", I have no idea how someone would come to that conclusion.
  12. He wasn't saying YOU were trying to censor him. He was saying that the topic at hand has to do with censorship. "launchin1st" mentioned not liking Bush or the Patriot Act, which is probably the most profound piece of censorship litigation ever put through congress and made into law. Then you decided to go gung hoe on his ass and say "what about me and my brothers, etc...", Mensan was simply pointing out the censorship IS anti-american and while his delivery was off "lauchin1st" had a point. The same freedom and rights that you claim to fight for give him the right to say he hates this country. I dont agree with him, but its his right to do so and not suffer any penalties from the government or persecution for having such beliefs.

    Iraq Inc

Read this on cnn.com and thought it was really interesting. It's semi-long for reading online, but it is a magazine article afterall. Its about a guy named Brinkley who is trying to revitalize Iraq's manufacturing factories and private industries that were once government owner/operated. One thing I thought was REALLY interesting..."Thanks to decades of oil wealth, Iraq was the most industrialized country in the Arab world. Government jobs - in factories, with the army, at universities - were guaranteed for life. Paychecks weren't high, but the cost of living was artificially low. Electricity was free, as was a college education and health care. Gas cost less than a nickel a gallon. Every household received monthly food rations." Of course this was Pre-Kuwait invasion and before the first war. Another really interesting point... "There are still people who will look you in the eye and tell you the problems in Iraq have nothing to do with economics - that it's strictly sectarian divisions and a desire of people to exact revenge. I find that argument absurd." -Brinkley So if your bored or just need something interesting to read, enjoy. http://money.cnn.com/2007/08/31/magazines/fortune/iraq_inc.fortune/index.htm?postversion=2007090410
  14. I agree with pdqgp/tim, as long as you pay attention and speed "safely" then you should be ok. Ive gotten 4 speeding tickets, and all were because of my lack of attention on the road. One was because my gf at the time was puking out the side of the car. Everytime I stay focused you can always pre-empt the officer and what will happen. Learn to watch brake lights, and traffic patterns, never ever speed 'by yourself' always have a lead off or someone in front of you. If someone gets tagged its him plus it will give you time to duck out into another lane.
  15. I had an similar incident with my former roomate. He kept saying I owed him $500 for back rent and bills, despite the fact that I left him money (cash) for it before i left. His argument was that my belonging's stayed in the apartment for 2 weeks after I moved out. I said i didnt care how long a few boxes were there after I left, I came back and picked everything up and cleaned when he wasn't there. Needless to say he should've thought about who he was Effing over when the AC broke in the middle of the summer and the Heat broke in the middle of winter and he decided he could fix both of them on his own without calling a maintenance guy. That place was a dump, I spent more time crashing on my moms couch than I did sleeping in MY own apartment that I was paying money for. I didnt owe him shit. He never threatened small claims, mostly because he knew he would never get the money and I would argue with him, so he just called me 3 times a day for a month. After a while he got tired of that and stoped calling. Problem = solved.

  21. what do you expect, its a 4 cylinder making 1000 hp?
  22. Theres one that was started by the same people who started/own Modified Mag, which is an import mag. I cant remember the name of it but they feature luxury/really expensive cars. BMW's, MB, Porsche, Range Rover, etc... Not sure if the Trailblazer SS would qualify for this though You can also try some euro mags, when their not featuring VW's, they usually have alot of BMW's/Audi's etc...
  23. I love those things, 400hp v8, awd. Your getting the SS right? I thought those things were pretty expensive. Post pics when you get it.
  24. Im guessing its not but you should probably say if its a turbo 2 liter or regular NA, also mileage.
